This show is amazing and how the A list cast came to be is crazy. Reese and Nicole who are neighbors got together and worked on getting it developed. Reese then called Laura who she had previously worked with to play Renta. Laura called Shailene who she has previously worked with to play Jane. Shailene then called Zoe who she had previously worked with to play Bonnie, and that’s how the cast came to be. It was literally just them calling up their friends, no auditions and yet the show turned out incredibly.
Laura Dern not only played Shailene's mom in 'The Fault in our Stars', she also played Reese's Mom in 'Wild'. Both such great movies. And I love the actresses.
This show is so good and slept on. I’ve been waiting forever for a popular RU-vid channel to react to it. And that’s why I love this channel because you guys aren’t afraid to react to less popular shows that others channel haven’t reacted to yet.
I completely forgot how much I relate with Shailene's character in this show. You guys are gonna love this show. And I hope Zuff recovers (I went through that last year, based on the comments I read, and it does get better
Yayyyy! I'm so excited for this show Abigail is Kathryn Newton, you've probably seen her in a lot of stuff. And no, Nathan didn't knock two women up at the same time, he married Bonnie and had Skye. Madeline married Ed (Adam Scott) and had Chloe. Madeline said "I don't think that math is right" when Bonnie said that and Bonnie was like "well Abby is Skye's half-sister."
Big Little Lies' first season is incredible. The second one is really good, but it's kind of like "why did they do it" (after the first season was supposed to be a limited series), and the third season that's going to come out someday, makes even less sense to make it. Even if I'm still going to enjoy it lol But the first season was just different.
IMO, one of the best book to film adaptations. All the actresses give great performances but Laura Dern made a minor character in the book absolutely fantastic in the show!

This book was sooo good. The author makes the best fiction mystery soap opera-y books. And I thought they did a great adaptation. It was exactly what I saw in my mind when I read it.
I read the book by Liane Moriarty years ago. All her books are sooo good. Set in Australia, centered around affluent suburbanites, all with secrets they go to desperate lengths to hide. I don't watch much TV so I never saw this show, but happy to watch along with you guys.
This is one of my all-time favorite shows so I'm so excited to relive it through you guys' videos! I liked the show so much I went and read the book, too.

Fun fact: in 2014 Laura Dern played both Sheilene Woodley’s and Reese Witherspoon’s mother in two different projects. The first, of course, being “The Fault in Our Stars” and the second being “Wild” directed by the late Jean-Marc Vallée (yes, the same director of Big Little Lies, Sharp Objects, and a few unknown little movies like Dallas Buyers Club and C.R.A.Z.Y.) for which Reese and Laura got Oscar nods.
This and second season are the best television you’ll ever watch. The acting, writing, storytelling and brilliance is amazing. Best book to tv adaptation.
The first show I watched with Alexander Skarsgard was True Blood. He was one of my favorite characters in that. I hope you eventually get around to reacting to it if you haven't seen it.
This show is a really good adaptation of the book, which I loved! The only thing that is a bit of a bummer is that they moved the setting from Australia to America, would've been interesting to have something Australian for a change because I've barely seen any TV shows set there but I get that they wanted this star studded Hollywood cast and the show would be very different... There is one plot detail they changed that I kind of hate but I obviously won't say what. But the show is still very good! Weirdly enough, I forgot this show had a second season that was not based on any book until you mentioned it. I did watch that when it came out and I'm not hard to please so I thought it was decent unlike lots of people who thought it was bad. But weirdly I barely remember anything about the second season now...
