I thought I was done... but Earth 2 has pulled me back in. This time, a leaked recording of their newest developer reveals what he claims to be a multi million dollar lawsuit filed against youtube critics, designed to have their channels flat out deleted.
The "CEO" of the project will allegedly be filing this lawsuit through a firm in Canada, intent upon not disproving critics... but flat out deleting them. I for one will fight that idea with everything I can muster.

@@Crisjola o yeah 1 Party Consent is common, the one that breaks the whole thing isn't even that like that might be grounds for a suit but there suit seems to be based on the believe that they can force RU-vid to enforce the TOS against a 3rd party. (the creator there targeting) and this is like near universal contract law that you can't do that. The party "harmed" by the breach of contract has no obligation to enforce if both parties to the contract or in this case TOS are happy you don't get to tell them they shouldn't be as a private citizen 3rd party. Like this lawsuit has like fatal flaws already, the biggest ground is the privacy stuff mostly because it's so vague I'm not even sure what it's based on, so can't really tell you one way or the other, but really it looks so much like a SLAPP suit I would be shocked if it has any merit.

only if you do it explicitly. if you did it implicitly by taking down someone else's and letting that speak for itself, you'd be in the clear. legally speaking, threatening to sue isn't against the law, so is pointing out the consequences of losing the resulting lawsuit, but threatening things other than a lawsuit (such as filing ethical complaints against your opponent's lawyer or making copyright claims that will put your channel in danger)? totally illegal.

@@Ceece20 also the person being sued can counter sue. *Especially* if the information dug up by the defense is worthy of a counter sue case-look at what Epic games did to Silicon Knights (Too Human Devs) when the lawsuit against Epic that was false (that Epic had somehow sabotaged the Unreal Engine 3) and it was discovered that something like the entirety of their game had been developed with a pirated/unlicensed copy of Epic's engine. And they beat them into the pavement with relative ease as well as striking the game from basically all of existence.

The lawsuit will be thrown out in court. As long as RU-vidrs didn't spread any false information or threatened the developers or their work with malicious intent, they have no case. Simply saying that something seems like a scam is not illegal (Not in USA), its actually a matter of public concern. Since the public is the one "investing" in the project, and some people think that it might be or is a possible scam, their opinions and concerns are valid. Now if it turns out the lawsuit is real, the RU-vidrs involved can countersuit the company because according to the audio; the company wants to destroy the public images and careers of those RU-vidrs through a lawsuit, which in itself is a malicious intent at defamation of another individual.

@@AnHonestBard Cancel culture often times is when someone gets unfairly harassed and such for something pretty minimal. Varius has earned all the criticism he's got and more. He's lied about his age to bypass Steam's 18+ dev rule. He has put out not one but two scummy scam games for a quick buck. And when called out, he sobbed like a bitch and tried to abuse the DMCA system. There's a reason BigFry, Sid, and UEG are even more critical now. Dudes got a real bad reputation

Brilliant point about them wanting "kickstarter" funds from players/investors to make it a viable game yet some co-owner of the game's company can invest millions to sue some RU-vid content creators to silence their dissent. I'd think the SEC would want to hear about this project with their crypto securities plans.
