This is How KOBE BRYANT Built His Own Redeem Team
In 2004, the USA collapsed as the global leader in basketball. Other countries had started to make strides in their skill and had teams playing together for years. So in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the team knew who they needed. Kobe Bryant. Until the 1992 Olympics, the USA Men’s Basketball Team was constructed of only college players. No pros from the NBA were allowed in. Even with just college players the national team still dominated the early days of the sport. Winning a record 7 gold medals in a row.
But eventually, international play began to rise. Teams like the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia began taking away the gold from the USA. So what did we do? Screw it, release the pros!
The 1992 Olympics in Barcelona entered a new wave of domination from the United States. Being led by the duo of Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan, there was nothing the other countries could do...until 2004.

THANK YOU. People for some reason want to revise history or simply were too young to remember, but up until 2009-2010, Kobe was universally considered the best player on the planet. Didn't matter who won MVP, that required other factors to win (like team success), but there wasn't really any serious debate. People would often discuss Lebron, but drop lines like "but we all know Kobe's the best in the world." After Lebron finally won his first ring in 2012, & Kobe got older/more injured, the conversation shifted. We all knew Lebron was great, but he wasn't best in the world yet.

Spain and USA were both in the same group. They were 3-0 apiece, so playing their fourth game. That one was dominated by the US easily (30+ pts). The final game was tougher.

Funny 😂, Before kobe, the us was doing poorly in the qualifiers, 3rd and bronze not bad if you're not a powerhouse like usa 😂, Kobe change the whole team that point, Honestly i was kinda disappointed with the minutes kobe had in games but a quiet 10+ point whenever was super efficient and amzing now that i think of it, The toughness and mentality he brought in, the tenacity and hunger, Kobe wasn't named the best player if that era for nothing, he was ome of the best play makers, but got underated passer because he rarely pass the the ball, but whenever he's not shooting and facilitating it was money, The impact he had was 2nd to none, Untill now i still miss watching him play, rip mamba 🥲
