Yeah...not even close. Maybe in basketball, but there has NEVER been an athlete more dominating or physically imposing than Aleksandr Karelin. Look up his wrestling record and weight division. To be that consistent for that many years in wrestling let alone in that division is unheard of before or since. He is the greatest athlete to ever exist by a long shot.
Business Partners Your probably right. After watching all these highlights of Jordan, I noticed how he leans so far forward as he’s coming down the court with the ball. It seems like he’s almost about to stumble he pushes it so fast and hard. I cannot even imagine someone coming along who will be greater than he was ... I just don’t see it.
After the 80s 90s and early 00s, social media came along and absolutely destroyed everything that is pure in sports as well as decency in life as we know it. And here I am on social media, crying about it. Simply stunning.
Drive to the basket/break down the defense! As they all collapse toward you, dunk over whom ever's in front of you or kick it back to the open teammate for the uncontested shot! Sounds easy right?! Throw in the Celtics, Pistons, Knicks, Heat hitting you every trip to the paint, then you playing defense "for real" at the other end! Nobody's ever done it better!
They said vince carter was the greatest dunkers of all time.....i still believe jordan elevation are the best...he float like a balloons, he land like a leaf
Ronnie Bandoma Vince has the edge for explosion and finishing stronger. Jordan had the grace and maybe agility edge. Vince just had a little more umph...particularly on the reverse dunks. Kobe was a blend. more power than MJ but maybe not quite the fluidity.
Vince doesn't jump off one foot as well as MJ but is better or as good when jumping off two feet. Jump off two feet is better for dunking in traffic. I think MJ is one of the few who can do both equally well. Lebron on the other hand jumps off one foot very well but not two feet.
@@zyxwut321 it's just what every dumbass is gonna cry about. How Queen James is so great.. But you're dumbass wasn't born yet to witnessthe best.. I wasn't even against that dumb mf his first few years.. I learned to not give respect when he's so fucking dumb. And I'm sorry your generation is a bunch of pussies.
Man times have changed. I can't even imagine a Jordan playing in todays game with a defensive 3 seconds which prevents 4-5 guys crashing at once. Jordan could average 45-50 in today's game.
Are you kidding??? When Jordan played you had to stay above the foul line. The lane was much more wide open than in today's game. Defensive 3 seconds was a compromise to make it easier to guard people in the paint (ie Shaq)
@@larryhoods I didn't say that defensive 3 seconds helped a defense. I said that what they had before Defensive 3 seconds, was much worse for defenses. Defensive 3 seconds was the compromise. The NBA wanted to lessen the impact of players that dominated the lane (ie Shaq). But they didn't want to go full college basketball rules where you could just pack the paint with defensive players. So as a compromise, they put in defensive 3 seconds. Where you could pack the paint with defensive players, but they couldn't stay there for more than 3 seconds. Before the rule change in I believe 2001, if the player that you were guarding was above the 3-point line, you were not allowed to play defense below the the foul line unless you were double-teaming the player with the ball. If you stepped below the foul line, it was a technical foul after the first warning. Because of this rule it opened up the lane because defenses couldn't sag off.
@@alexh8613 but now there's no hand checking, an extra "eurostep" bs, and way more shooters. Plus less physicality. The game significantly benefits the offense in today's game. That's why MJ's accomplishments under those rules with the lack of shooters in the game makes it more amazing
Basically this video was officiated through today's standards, I have only been watching basketball since the 21st century and nothing here stricked me as a foul that wasn't called, you sir belong in a circus 🤡
The Michael Jordan Archive is not complete until you post the dunk where Jordan met the Suns' Charles Barkley, chest to chest, in front of the rim, reached over him to dunk the ball, which sent Barkley onto his back underneath the basket. Jordan hung on the rim looking down Barkley, who was flat on his back on the ground. Jordan let go, split his legs so as not to land on Barkley, did a 180 spin switching places with his legs, and ran back up the court. Barkley peeled himself up off the floor and jogged back down the court shaking his head back and forth... I believe it was in Phoenix as I don't recall the crowd going ballistic. I think it wasn't a Finals game, but I could be mistaken. This is the most POWERFUL dunk I've ever seen, because he literally pummeled Charles Barkley by GOING THROUGH HIM, not around him, or simply knocking him off balance.
This 4:00 minute plus clip is better than any highlight of the pro basketball played today. You mean no 6 three pointers attempted and make one? Pro basketball today is a farce. I'm 43 not 80, by the way.
Normal...Michael Jordan is The Best basketball Play Who ever Walk on this earth. He is The G.O.A.T EVER ! The Killer, The Assassin ! A Fan From France !
This was when basketball actually meant something and was a must watch. It sucks to see what the nba has turned into. But at least we still have the NFL.👍👍👍✌✌✌🤘🤘🤘
It’s so disrespectful to compare LeFraud James to the GOAT Michael Jordan. There is just no way anybody comes close to MJ. Just watch MJ with the ball. So graceful. So fast. So dangerous from every part of the court. And then look at LeFraud. He looks more like Shaq with his minimal skills. No dribble. No foot work. No shot. Always needing a screen. No free throw consistency. There is no comparison. Media needs to stop trying to fool the sheeple.
Kobe and lebron never had this kind of explosiveness and finishing any time in their career . Not even talking about his post game, mid range and defense
@@jorgedelgado8177 Lewis and Shaw are not legendary Celtics. The Legends team is specifically 86. You could say 87 since that team was them mostly but just injured.
Boston's run was over in '88 and Jordan was just learning how to actually win; the Bulls were just a terrible team; Detroit, Atlanta, and Cleveland were ahead of them but the push was Jordan, he was great individually but just fun to watch, that's all. Even in '91 he was just fun to watch but that team was a CBA team.
If Lebron shoots an air ball like that and only scores 4 points in the quarter Skip Bayless would've said "he's not that guy because in the last 10 seconds of the 3rd quarter he shot an air ball". Shannon - "But Skip he scored 30 in the 4th quarter" Skip - "Okay he was good for 12 minutes in that quarter I give you that but he folded in the 3rd, Michael Jordan would've never done that". SMH
2:14 why no hand check if they really allowed it in the '80s and '90s? or they are just exaggerating the story about the old school defense? pls, enlighten me.
exaggeration..its just to make old and middle aged guys feel relevant and tough...lol ...clearly the players of today are far more physically superior and skilled...think about it...mjs heaviest weight he played at was like 215 at 6ft6. he was 195 in these 80s videos. playing against a bunch of 6tf2 non atheletic guys on the wings. Todays wings: harden 6ft6 240, k.leonard 6ft7 240, kd ft220, pg 6ft8 225, lebron 6ft9 270, zion 6ft8 280...any top 2 guard coming out of highschool today 6ft6 200...etc...i could go on and on..mj would be able to score in this day but not at the clip these old guys claim and besides without hand checking, how will he stop any of the guys i named above?????
Legendary Celtics like lohaus and brian shaw haha ....past their prime and bird did not play. Mj was only 103 behind the real goat wilt in 50 or or more games
As a Celtic fan I sure wish we could’ve had Reggie Lewis for a little longer he was a Baller no doubt we have a lot of bad luck during those times bird broke his back Lenny bias But just so y’all know Jordan never beat the Celtics in the playoffs not ever
Don't worry Bird fanboy. We know. The difference is that we utilize this little thing called "context". Bird was on a team that won 67 games and was being nominated as "the greatest team ever" due to its dominant 40-1 run with home court advantage. The Bulls were a 30 win team with a losing regular season record and drug addicts. Common sense dictates that the Celtics would defeat him. If the Celtics had to play against the 90s Bulls, they would get their ass whooped, like everyone else did. lol
Bird was that team without bird that team is on the same level as the Bulls in my eyes bird is the most dominant force to ever touch the court dude scored 40+ points left handed you’re just an I don’t know who you are but Jesus Christ you need to watch Bird play he dominated everything he destroyed everything I don’t care who they put in front of him he destroyed them all Jordan didn’t win shit until all of the big boys were gone bird Dr. Bird Abdul-Jabbar Magic Johnson Zeke I can name anymore I mean yeah he beat Zeke in the end but Zeke was at the end of his career to the Celtics beat up the Pistons before the Pistons beat up the bulls before the bulls beat up the Knicks you obviously don’t know birds numbers compare them to anybody I don’t care who you put in front of him if the man shot as many shots of Jordan shot he would’ve been the all-time leading score well maybe not if he were to utilize the three-point line oh my I am a true fan of the sport my top five of all time will go up against any top five in the history of the world magic Jordan bird Dunkin hakeem I want to put Oscar in there so bad but I just can’t get rid of any of those dudes
And one more thing it took Jordan six years to develop a jumpshot bird come in the league dominating I’m just saying he couldn’t hit the ocean you need to go back to the beginning of his career Garbacz
@@perrygebhart6502 Here we go again with you Bird fanboys not being educated on your NBA. >I watched Bird play. He's one of my favorite players. That doesn't relate to the point I made. He would get his ass whooped if he played the 90s Bulls. Point blank. He couldn't defeat Magic in the college finals. He couldn't knock off Dr. J and the Sixers from the Eastern Conference. He failed to make the Celtics the best team in the league, because he had a losing record to Magic in the finals. And he got knocked off of his Eastern Conference throne by the Bad Boy Pistons. He's not gonna defeat a 90s Bulls team that went undefeated in the finals and never allowed a game 7. That's just the truth. >No. Jordan had a jump shot since college. You're telling me to do research on Bird. You need to do your research on Jordan. As a rookie, he was described as having the finishing abilities of a Dr. J and the shooting abilities of Jerry West. And you should know how great of a shooter Jordan is, because he hit a bunch of jump shots in the 86 and 87 playoffs against the Celtics. There's no excuse for you not to know this basic fact.
@@user-xx4im2mr7o well your kinda right since these aren't the early 80 celtics so they're not really legendary anymore, by 1988 the celtics dynasty has ended and the pistons began
I don't give a fuk if LeBron is not the GOAT. He is a good family man, that did not get kicked out of the league for gambling and just opened a school for kids, has helped his friends to attain wealth and for you haters he is a billionaire, all you haters need to look in the mirror and ask what have you done for anyone other than yourself and call people nasty names. Jordan is the goat ok, but I like Lebron because he is a good person, that cares about others. Not saying Mike don't but I don't see that. To further piss haters off, I like a guy that marries his own kind.
MJ was married to "his own kind" for 17 years and raised 3 children with her. He's been with his recent Cuban wife for 10 years and has twin daughters with her. You'd be surprised at how many of your favorite athletes aren't a product of both their parents being "their own kind." Racist pos.
And your whole' kicked out of the league' thing is just an unproven conspiracy theory. And LeBron's great deeds could all just as easily be PR moves to better his image. Doesn't make him a great man and MJ not. You don't personally know either of them. Dikembe Mutombo. Now that's a great man. He didn't need to do anything of that help his PR and fame. Yet he did and still does it til this day.
This was the pro ball back then? 3 guy on the perimeter passing left and right until they find the one guy that can shoot on the Celtics? If they just had average 35% shooters from three for all 5 guys, defense would collapse immediately and that's what's happening today. I wonder why it took so long for that to be implemented.
