He's definitely a 15-1600 player, but thinking about and playing chess definitely doesn't fit with his brand of streaming - nor does it fit with having a new baby. I'm excited for him to have some time to sit down and get to something closer to his actual elo in Rapid (maybe 10+5) format, instead of the blitz and bullet without increment he's been pounding through.

Day 7: Of requesting Levy to cover opposite coloured bishop endgames. Especially when you are up by two or three pawns against your opponent and you both have opposite coloured bishops as well

that's easy, just offer a draw and it's done what'll happen is that all your pieces will go on the opposite color of the opponent bishop and he'll be powerless, it's simply a draw

@@jvcmarc Not necessarily a draw if you are two or three pawns up on your opponent. With two or three pawns, you do have some winning chances you know. Especially if you can force your opponent to sacrifice his bishop for one of your own pawns. After that happens, if you still have at least one pawn left together with your own bishop, you should be able to win.

@@bakulshah4367 if you are some pawns up, it isn't an opposite bishop endgame like the op stated. it's a pawn up opposite bishop. then you need to push the pawns, and make sure the opponent can't sacrifice the bishop for all the pawns and if you are some pawns down, you need to get rid of the pawns and fight for a draw besides that, it's a draw, unless your opponent blunders

Just wanted to thank you. I just played a blitz game and missed a nice tactic regarding a pin along the e file. After analyzing the game, I played another and somehow the same tactic appeared. This was the most proud I ever was of a game I played. Your content helped me improve so much and without your advice I wouldn't have gotten this far. Thank you!

God tier Thumbnail Levy. Love the lessons with NL and your first one is my go-to to refresh the Dutch. This is something that I'd like you to go through with NL more, some openings cause the discussion and back and forth during the lesson provide more insight to a beginner/novice like me than your (really good admitedly) 10 min opening series

This by far I think is the best way to teach and learn. Compared to just watching you play. Although watching the games are cool too. I wish you would teach openings reps the same way. Like going over in detail not only the basic opening moves, but the plan or strategy and type of middle game you typically get whenyou play that opening. when your trying to learn or put together an opening rep. Becauss if you really don't know your style, or how the middle and games you typically get playing that opening, once you have a good fit learning the variations on your own would be easy.once yo know your style or way you like to play. i think the overall plan and type of mid - end game positions information would be far better information for helping someone find a good opening rep, without first having to play or spend time learning some opening that doesn't fit thir play style. I appreciate the videos thanks Levey.

In example three 25:08 why not knight to d6. Forces a trade with the inactive knight for either their knight or their dark square bishop. And then move the rook.

At 8:45, one idea is, Knight f6+. 1. If gxf6, then rook takes f6, threatening Qxg6+ followed by a nasty attack. If black plays knight c to e5, guarding g6, then rook to f7 forking the king and queen. If black plays queen to g7, then rook to f7 pinning the queen to the king. 2. If black does not take the knight, black only has two moves, Kh6 and Kh8. If King h8, then rook to h4 is mate. And if Kh6, then Rh4+, Kg5, then queen d2 checkmate

At 8:31 wouldn't Nf6 be a good move? Because you check the king in hopes of g7xf6, Rxf6? And wouldn't that be a better position to be in? Maybe my brain isn't thinking far enough or taking into consideration a bunch of other options but that's just what I see. Also sorry if I got any of the moves wrong, I'm pretty new and not too familiarized with how they are worded and such
