Phil, doing the most cheeseball shit: "This game is so easy." Phil, the second his cheese fails and he has to think on his feet: "This piece of shit game's busted."

Yeah dsp babyrages when he has to re-do 15 minutes of a game, there's no way in hell he grinded for 50 hours. I guarantee he duped souls and left the game running to make it seem like he grinded
@@bimmer8602 It's definitely the case. Playing the remake, I beat the game at the low 80 and I invested pretty much all the souls I got throughout the game into levels. There's absolutely no way he'd get enough souls to lvl up that much from grinding on starting areas.
@@Jetsiuc You can grind in 3-4 that squidward guy and in a few hours you should reach close to 120, its still a tiring experience but is one of the best methods pre NG+
1:59:27 "You fucking loser. You want to fucking cheat huh? You want to fucking cheat? Watch this." (disconnects Demon's Souls server) I laughed so hard.
The people in the chat telling Phil what to do are an even bigger enigma than he is. Why are they giving him instructions? Do they feel bad for him? Why do they want him to succeed when watching him fail is so entertaining?
I'm actually glad to see, that the game beat him. Overleveled (probably by cheating... mathematically, he hardly had time during these 60 hours to get to level 90+), with the help of the chat and other players... and yet, he still didn't manage to beat "Old Monk" and the "False King". I actually think it's the first time I've ever seen a game beat a player like that.
+The Cloud I know what you mean, Phillip was so resigned wasn't he during this one, this and Dark Souls 2 rank among his most pathetic playthroughs ever
@Theshadow34 Ok, so maybe it wasn't TOTALLY fair ;-) However: He still should have tried it again. Or tried to be a better sport. I mean, his rage-quit was extremely pathetic!
That Old Monk part is glorious. It's beautiful insight to the most delusional casual possible, ragequitting then going on "uh-yeah I beat him I beat him I did cuz that's how you show those no-good jerks what for uhuh yeah".
That Armor spider fight was awful. He was so close to beating him on that second attempt, but he's so immature and childish he couldn't be bothered to try ONE MORE TIME.
I just blocked everything with the Purple Flame Shield at 22 Strength, and used the Crescent Falchion to attack when I had an opening. The fight was over in like a minute or two, and I had only leveled up half a dozen times at that point.
@turtle bomb She was harassed by Phil and his fans to the point she was forced to delete her original tihydps of Dark Souls 1-2 and Demon’s Soul and it took a long time before she reuploaded edited versions of them and stopped doing tihydps all together. But that’s nothing compared to what happened to this one girl. Do you know who Tats TopVideos is?
Britz94 He often disregards that for some reason. Either he thinks it's too complicated or he is so cheap he doesn't want to exchange earned experience or currency. Most likely he has difficulty comprehending what he is reading.
In Souls games leveling up is only half of making a strong build. Gear and weapon upgrading is a necessity as well, something Phillip can't understand.
I could understand him not bothering to understand all the Upgrade choices, you definitely need a wiki to comprehend all of that. But what is so hard to comprehend about slapping some hard or sharpstone on your weapon of choice?
1:14:45 "I'm not afraid of you!" "You want some of this!?" "Come get some!" *Power levels to gain an obscene amount of levels to attempt to ez mode the game and strips nekkid when any opposition is presented* Scared af.
This is like the fine wine of TIHYDP. All of the whininess, incompetence, cowardice, laziness, impatience, lack of awareness, handholding and ungratefulness that makes a TIHYDP worth watching.
He only considers a fight fair if the opponent tanks there and takes it in the ass while Phil teabags them and pisses on their corpse afterwards, ackackackacking and making shitty jokes.
ImplyingVidya: This is pathetic. The only person who cheated in that fight was the manchild who unplugged his PS3 rather then accept that his opponent had thoroughly outplayed his passive and weak style of combat. Get good. Best comment I ever read on a This is How You Don't Play.
@WastingAway Actually, you just, as far as I know get the boss soul, which you can get from the NPC Old Monk, but fighting the NPC isn't as fun as fighting another player.
When I saw the This is how you Don't Play MGS 3 by EvilAj. I honestly thought Phil was faking being this dumb. You have reached the grandfather of sniping. Phil: Where's my shotgun? The game took my shotgun! This game is fuckin Stoopid. Me:🤦🏻♂️
My guess is he's too lazy to even do that himself so one of his enablers probably just dropped a fuck ton of souls for him. He didn't even use the lesser souls when he needed to repair all his shit so I can't see him figuring out consuming demons' souls for himself either.
I don't know what that glitch is, but I got all the way up to Lvl 97 by grinding the Adjudicator Archstone enemies after I got the Dragon Bone Smasher. It only took me a dozen hours total play time to get there.
Being Level 97 doesn't mean anything if you upgrade the wrong stats. When I got to Level 97, I had leveled up Vitality, Strength, and Endurance extremely high, which are probably the most important stats to level up in any Soulslike game.
So annoying that every time he so much as gets scratched he books it through half the map\stage, crawls into a corner like a rat and eats 2 grass to heal and10 more after that just to make sure.
I think he reads stream chat more than he actually plays the game. My favorite meme is him getting told what to do by his chat then acting like he figured it out by himself.
I've actually been playing Demon's Souls recently and am around the same point where DSP 'grinded' to level 97. When I saw that, I had to double check my file to see what level I was at. Keep in mind, I was also grinding a bit at 4-1 for weapon upgrades, a few levels, and to buy some spells (which I somehow only found the merchant for them at the Nexus a few hours ago). I'm level 33 and made more progress than DSP at this point.
I grinded to Level 97 as well, but that was only after I'd unlocked the Adjudicator Archstone and acquired the Dragon Bone Smasher, and by that point my Vitality, Strength, and Endurance were all extremely high.
1:15:00 To think Phillip came this close to have an epic moment of bravery , overcoming his fears and fighting like a real player...but nah, just be laaaaaaaaaaaame.
I've watched this I don't know how many times and I just noticed that bit where he's fussing with the webcam at about 1:26:40 or so. You can see the popup over the webcam when he has to refresh it. So instead of capturing from the camera as a source, he's monitoring the camera on his pc... and then just region capturing that preview from the desktop. He's capturing a capture.
It was obvious that "melee the mage" wasn't a good enough description for him. The advice should have been "melee the mage from behind, if he attacks, roll, he won't be stunlocked by a 1 handed straight sword"
So, maybe: "Move the left analog stick up, to move forward. Press the right analog stick, to lock on to the mage. Now move the left analog stick left or right, to strave around the mage. You can use the circle-button to role and get out of the way when an attack comes. When the mage readies an attack, role to the side. You can recognize him reading an attack, when... etc, etc..."
I was overjoyed when I saw the Scraping spear invader, but completely lost it when he hid behind the merchant so that DSP would inadvertently attack him. Seriously was that guy Fighter .PL on his day off?
That fight is even more embarrassing when he does it, given the fact that it only took me a minute or two to beat the Tower Knight with only the Crescent Falchion after I killed all the archers.
personally I've never played demon souls. but even I can tell by playing The dark souls trilogy and bloodborne that Phil can't fucking see.he can't fucking dodge for shit. he legit sucks at videogaming and then he blames the company that worked hard to make a game that did really well. dark souls was by far the most impactful. game I have ever played and when dsp insults fromsoftware just because Phil can't actually think like a human child, pisses me off so fucking much. but bloodborne did do the farming healing potions thing which did annoy me but it didn't make the game stupid. sorry for the bad english it isn't perfected yet.
>Cheats to beat the second to last boss while whining about how hard it is >Mocks the final boss for being too easy, despite that being the fucking point
I don't even have my PS connected to the internet, so I had to beat Demon's and Dark Souls on my own, and the only boss I died to a LOT in Demon's Souls was the King in 1-4 who can take levels from you. I died SO many times to him. Then again, I'm not a dumbass, so I upgraded my weapon.
I love his Old Monk rage quit. Straight up beautiful. His anger at the game for failing massively and never, ever upgrading his weapons to do more damage. This doesn't get better in the remake xD he also rage quit there. I knew this boss existed and what it was about, and it did cross my mind to not be online... but when I got there I said "screw it, let's go" and went for it. I was never angry doing this fight, the players kept me on my toes and were great with me, yeah I got beaten four times by them but it was an absolute blast; all my opponents were exciting and learning more strats and styles to contrast to my build and how to beat them. There was so much to it I couldn't get angry! I like this game a lot. Not as much as Dark Souls 1 and Elden Ring, but definitely.
I actually invaded as the boss there myself a few times just to try it and it was super fun. I usually don't like to invade people myself but the concept of being a boss is just neat and Demon's Souls PVP is pretty simple to grasp.
The poor guy who went through the trouble of getting Phil a +5 phosphorescent pole (lots of wt manipulation for primordial demon hunting or killing npcs for mephistophiles) just for phil to ignore it and give no thanks. That just hurts.
Like, does DSP not realize demon's souls isn't an MMO? While playing for a long time might make you better than someone else, you're not going to have "better gear". They have access to the exact same shit he does. There are no sweet purps to farm off raid bosses in Demon's Souls that would give you an objective advantage over other players who never had the chance to.
Exactly. Demon's Souls isn't an MMO, it's an RPG. That means the whole experience is based around exploring the environments to find items and equipment, and then upgrading your stats so that you're actually able to use them. It's not about whatever the hell DSP was doing the whole time, like he does in every other game he "plays."
Teeny Tiny Asakura Well, because he does not know one thing about the game and just does what the stream tells him to. If they don't tell him EXACTLY what to do, he won't. This playthrough is actually one of the best ones to demonstrate this. For example when the stream tells him to melee the enemy, he runs head-on to the enemy, loses 2/3 of his life even before reaching him since he doesn't dodge or block, mashes attack RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM, enemy casts spell, he dies. What does he do? Tell the people that their advice to use melee was terrible, competently ignoring the fact that "use melee" does not mean to forget everything else like dodging/blocking and positioning yourself accordingly. Or when someone in the stream tells him to use flame toss and he says "no one told me that I need it, so I don't have it with me" - expecting someone should have told him before. He needs to be told exactly what to do and he will only do something when being told (although sometimes he ignored good advice for some crazy reason). So, why did he not upgrade his weapon and wonders why he does no damage with it? No one told him to upgrade it, so he didn't do it since he doesn't even know about this simple mechanic. What is amazing is that he played Dark Souls before and yet doesn't grasp this. Hell, this isn't even a unique Souls mechanic. Upgrading equipment is in so many games. Again, this playthrough is Phil's worst one (not exaggerating, I mean that) and is really a prime example for someone being 100% dependant on the stream.
@@dermaskiertemuchacho6139 Der Maskierte Muchacho I am three years late to this......but if you're still out there.....this was a great post and really nailed it.
Because he has absolutely no idea how to upgrade weapons, how to properly manipulate the World Tendency so he can unlock the best weapons and equipment, or which stats to level up to the point where he can actually use all of them.
Whenever I played as a mage, I made it interesting. And if I needed to, I would switch to the classic swords. Either way, it felt fun and challenging. Phil makes mages appear like the common stereotype people make mages appear to be.
The crazy thing is that the Crescent Falchion has an A rating for Magic, so if only Phil had leveled up Magic, he would've had a fast, powerful sword for melee, and effective sorceries for distance.
"It's just artificial difficulty!" Okay... I'm not going to lie... I did find the Tower of Latria one of the more annoying areas in the game, and while the Mind Flayers were one of the more annoying enemies in the area, they're a far cry from the hardest enemy there. Also... I love how Phil thought his opponent in the Old Monk fight was cheating just because he had outplayed Phil.
Dark Souls 2 is actually the one that has artificial difficulty. Demon's Souls and DS1 are really hard near the beginning, but if you level up the proper stats really high like Vitality, Strength, and Endurance, then the difficulty is brought down to a much more manageable level overall.
Someone also needs to show him exactly which attributes he should actually be leveling up if he's gonna grind all the way to Level 97. When I got to that level, I had leveled Vitality, Strength, and Endurance so high that I could actually wield the Bramdt, Tower Shield, and Black Leather set all at the same time without even needing to wear the Ring Of Great Strength.
The algorithm brings me back. Still my favorite part is the start where he can’t figure out the PS3’s capital letter system lol he should’ve stuck with “Glutton For Punis”
He didn't dump enough points into the stats that would make the biggest difference, like Vitality, Strength and Endurance. That's why he kept dying over and over even though he was overleveled.
Yeah, and Demon's Souls is actually more accommodating since you're able to carry 99 of each type of Moon Grass, and don't have to go back to the Nexus to automatically restore them.
I also grinded to Level 97, but I only did that after I unlocked the Adjudicator Archstone and acquired the Dragon Bone Smasher and the Ring Of Avarice. It only took me about a dozen hours of total play time to reach that point.
Hey I'm trying to make a This is How you Don't play video, and I need his red phantom suicides, if anyone can give me the times, it would be very appreciated
Wow Dude Do you really think he’s going to do a redemption run on the remake I hope they leave it at the exact same difficulty and make it even more challenging.
This is an absolutely abysmal and embarrassing trainwreck of a playthrough. He did everything completely wrong in every situation: He used a normal nonupgraded Falchion when he could've found the Crescent Falchion in World 4 to greatly increase damage in melee combat. Since it has an A scale rating for Magic, putting points into that would not only increase its damage further, but also increase the power of spells for ranged combat. He wasted 57 hours grinding to Level 97 just to beat the Armor Spider, when you can easily beat it in about a minute or two using the Purple Flame Shield and the Crescent Falchion. He didn't store all the stuff he didn't need at the moment with Stockpile Thomas, which is why he was unable to pick up new items and was forced to discard the valuable stuff he was already carrying. He didn't find the Dragon Bone Smasher and the Bramdt, which both deal massive damage without even needing to be upgraded at all. He kept referring to the chat pretty much every single second for someone to tell him exactly what to do for everything. He didn't dump enough points into the proper stats for them to actually make a difference. During the Old Monk fight, it summoned a player who was also around the similar Soul Level he was. However, he was unable to actually inflict any meaningful damage as a result. He constantly threw tantrums and insulted everyone, and blamed everything else but himself, his lack of skill, and capacity to actually learn anything and think for himself.
1:09:20 I fucking love how proud he is for essentially making the game not worth playing anymore. He really seems to think that he truely accomplished something X-D 1:10:22 Are these numbers correct? Because that would mean that to get from Level 81 to 97 you have to collect at least 640'000 souls. If he only farmed on the skelettons, he would have had to kill over 2'100 skelettons. To get that in 60 hours, you would have to kill 35 skelettons per hour, which means less than 2 minutes per skeletton. And while this is technically possible, you have to include going back to the nexus and back into the level every now and again, which means a lot of reloading, walking from encounter to encounter, not dying... and again, this ONLY calculates what it would take to get from Level 81 to 97, AND it only assumes a cost of 40'000 souls per level, which is even less than it would take from level 81 to 82. So yeah... it's not that the numbers don't make it unlikely, it's that it is impossible beyond any measures X-D
I actually grinded to Level 97 in the Adjudicator Archstone after I'd acquired the Dragon Bone Smasher. It took me significantly less time than Phil, especially after I got the Ring Of Avarice, because the total souls from all the enemies in that stretch was around 33,000 per round.
Adam it’s not the same game though right? It’s a remake so it might be completely different therefore it’s not a redemption run more like a TIHYDP Demon Souls Remake.
This was my first souls game, played it blind as a pure melee build using the stock warrior armour and longsword the entire game without knowing I could lock on. Watching the way he plays the game is pathetic
1:19:00 he takes off all his stuff when he gets involved with PVP is because the first time he did it that legend with the Scraping Spear broke everything and he is probably worried that itll happen again. Even though it isnt a big deal lmao.
They don't watch him because he's actually good at playing games, they watch him to be entertained by all the endless whining, meltdowns and tantrums that he has.
