We need capable frigates in US costal tree

Nice to see someone actually make videos over War Thunder Naval. Usually I tend just just find some tutorial videos that's over 2-3 years old.

Researching coastal tree is very difficult due to low RP rewards and they haven't mentioned a single thing about RP changes in coastal battles in their roadmap

It seems like air realistic (and sim, or so I’ve heard) is the only gamemode with partway decent rp rewards. After about rank III the coastal tree begins to get excessively tedious imo

Ahh, a man after my heart! I'm grinding for the Hoqiuam myself, and have 130k left. Not gonna lie, while I enjoy the PT-810 and Cyclone combo, you can really get your buns handed to you by a Peacock or most 3.7 USSR coastals

I found the easiest way to grind coastal is just to up tier myself to 5.0 and cap the zone, may be get some kill Would love to see more US coastal ship, thing like Barnegat class sea plane tender or US coast guard ship from the 50s-60s Or Griffin missile for the Cyclone it just a 5kg tnt missile and it only have 4 of them, wont be too irreasonable to add

Lately I been taking boat into my 5.0-6.0 matches. I use them to cap and sneak attack ships before switching to Moffett or Atlanta

US coastal ships are just like the old Swiss army knife your dad passed on to you. No showy bells and whistles but it has everything you need to get the job done.

The cyclone class used to have griffin anti ship missiles. 4 I believe, not an actual ship killer but 1 would take out something like a cyclone or candid without much issue, all four should be able to kill a DD fairly reliably if you hit the right targets.

I believe antimech was already available in naval. You had to take out AA at the airfields.

They really need to fix the coastal grind. So many cool boats locked behind impossible grinds. I lucked out and finished most coastal trees before they split the tech trees, so I've got all the interesting coastal boats. But man, if somebody wants the 206-M or PT-810 or Saetta...those are each like a month+ of hardcore grinding.

If only unlocking 3.3 vehicles wasn’t a chore in costal.

I have an advice for new vids Instead making video about "how to play", i think it's better to make "how to grind"(certain nation) We could learn about the gameplay, but some of us confused about grinding the coastal without premium Worst case, i've seen someone trying to grind coastal using LS3 and bring it to the 5.0 destroyer match, but not getting any kills at all

Wish they’d redo the tree honestly, it kinda sucks, Soviets don’t need a ton more ships and boats, also the grind sucks

Doesn't help that US Coastal doesn't really have any premiums for grinding.. the missile boy is too high a BR for a lineup and I'm not paying $60 on the market for 811

I enjoy the PT boats right now I'm limited to the lower BR/tier the match wait times suck for the lower BRs though

The problem is we bit ourselves in the butt because historically we didn't have many corvettes or frigates till Arleigh Burke Class frigates i don't see why they can't put our destroyer escorts in the Coastal line.

The uSS hoaquim is not worth it. If it received a coastal spawn it would’ve been but in the end it’s a slower destroyer, with weaker guns

G'day, Yes the US TT is rather meh and is a reason I rate it below most nations but just above Italy (OOF). It's annoying at times that it take so much fucking RP to research most vessels to the point I've coined the nickname Cost'all TT as everything just costs so bloody much (Ohh how I dream of having the pre 2.01 TT's again)... Yeah don't go into the Tacoma class Frigate with any excitement but hey post economics update the repair went down by 8k sl & it has a 900% SL modifier now (RIP the Project 1331M going from 900% to 600%). But the US definitely need better ships be it WWII Frigates/ Destroyer Escorts or cold war ones as well or hell a USCG Cutter Hamilton or Legends classes or even a modern LCS Freedom or Independence classes (I know me & Frankcannon dream of a post refit Hamilton class cutter heh, 1× OTO melara 76/62, 1× M61 Phalanx, 2× M242 Bushmasters & 6× 12.7 mm HMG's) and furthermore a Pegasus Class PGH and or the USS Flagstaff with the M551 sheridan turret fore and lastly something like USS Carronade. I would even take sailing vessels or china station riverine gunboats or the crap tonne of yachts the USN fielded during WWII. Hm may wanna read up ship silhouettes heh sees a Tacoma class Frigates ancestral halfsister a River class Frigate, YEP that's a minelayer cruiser heh. (do note while practically being a one two one copy but with US weaponry somehow the Hoquiam has a worse DM then Spey ntm still doesn't ploom black sooty smoke like a river or any other vessel either).

I am fine with it as the American line has so much everywhere else its lacking one thing is basically not good because this game shouldn't operate that way but all nations are not created equal in this game and the American line is definitely one of the darlings of the game in Naval.
