You need to try eating lunch where the local Thai office workers eat. This is my favorite Thai street food market in the entire city of Bangkok. It's right in the center of the city but very few people know about it.

Phat Kaphao is commonly known in Thailand as "thoughtless dish". It is not a negative connotation but a positive one. If you can't think of anything to order/eat, Phat Kaphao + Egg will not disappoint you. So you can order one without even thinking. Thai omelet is usually eaten with Sri Racha chilly sauce.

Miss this place so much! All thanks to you Chris for introducing us to this amazing place! This was just a 12 minutes walk straight from our condo in Sukhumvit soi 11 and my husband and I became regular visitors in that place ever since we watched your videos of Ruam Sab Market. The lively atmosphere and the organized chaos and the food, ahhhh miss it so much! The variety of thai food, drinks and desserts were huuuge and full of flavors, our favorite was the muslim food stall very near to you favorite pad krapao lady, miss it so much and looking forward to visit again when we come to Bangkok! We went there today.. I walked up to the pad ka proa moo lady. I ask for one and she giggled and said "for Chris"... I looked around for you then, I said "yes".. A few minutes later I was enjoying the BEST lunch.. We will be back.. I hope I didn't take yours. LOL.

I was just here for my first post-Covid Bangkok visit. I just stumbled into it randomly. Picked the stall with the biggest lineup and had a great meal. Went back the next 2 days for something different. I would never have guessed you'd pick this place as your #3 pick! Crazy.

My first day in Bkk 18 years ago I was wandering down Silom and a Australian lady asked me if I was new. After I said yes - must have been the lack of tan and mix of confusion and wonderment on my face she said come for breakfast in here and pointed to a tower block. We went in and on first floor was a massive food court. Can’t remember what I had but I think I went for bland as the only dish I knew was green curry. I do remember the slender black and whites though back in the day before more affluence gave rise to bigger waistlines.

Honestly, I'd take either of the markets that you and Mark picked. They're both great, it just depends which one is closer. Between Grab, markets, and street food, Thailand is very hard to beat for cheap, delicious food.

My wife is Thai and the first time I saw her use scissors in the kitchen it was like....WTF? But it makes perfect sense. That's how she slices up pizza too. Perhaps a horror to an Italian purist. I've been in Thailand before, but a long time ago. I am going again next year and this #3 is exactly one of the things I want to do. First week of november we spent 3 nights on soi sukhumvit 19...a few minutes away from that market. We walked on Asoke many times to the 7-11 that is right next the entrance. Wish I knew..😔

I was telling a Thai I could make Phat Kaphao back home. She said they make Phat Kaphao when they can’t think of anything else to make; that it was like making a hamburger. She said you can buy Phat Kaphao at 7-11. What I thought was special was so average. Her honesty made me laugh and laugh.
