I've always loved the line where Terry is trying to explain to the Treasure Hunter that the godseed might reawaken like a tree that loses its leaves in winter, and the Treasure Hunter's just not interested in listening. Thanks, Terry! I'll buy you a ham-burger when I get back from the tomb!
I'll admit, I came from Night Mind, but without his coverage, I'd never have found this hilarious video. Even if the ARG isn't going on anymore, this is still great to come back to. My favorite details: Terry in the entire video HamBURger Lazagnia Terry intercepting the basketball and scurrying away with it. Hollywood Glitz's flyer, with acts such as "star w ars" and "FEEL IT IN THE AIR TONIGHT - Air Bud Through the Years" Cool Dog seeming to be a local celebrity. "Hey teens." *starts music* "...." *stops music* "You're moving to Milwaukee." *starts the music again* "THROW HIM TO THE GODSEED FRAGMENTS!" *crash* The weird anime-esque ending "I'll buy you a hamBURger when I get back from the TOOOOOOOOOOMB!" The food guy in the credit panels destroying some monster before going right back to eating. The fact you see Terry riding on rollerskates with the three ladies who walk around town, and when he stops another guy gets on, implying that they're like a taxi service you don't have to pay for.
I remember when my friend Jake sent me this back when we were young. Turned out he was in it. He's the guy with the props in the segments around 2:32 and 6:08 in the video. funniest guy I ever knew. Made me drop my controller in Halo multiplayer on several occasions. Man, I'm old...
I wanted to see much more of this but synydyne doesn't seem to be doing anything at the moment or really at all since bear stearns bravo. This is an interesting world to look into but frustrating because I highly doubt there will ever be closure for this story.
From milwaukee, can 100% back up we say “la-zaG-nia”. If you don’t, you’re wrong. Can also attest that they most certainly filmed this in alternative-reality-waukee.
I personally Love the fragments of god and classes of security, I don't know why, but I felt this 'oh yeah' feeling when I saw them. I guess that is why I love the SCP foundation
Torus Drove The guy next to Henry is Holden McNeely and the guy playing chess right after is Ed Larson AND the Treasure Hunting Teen is John Moreno who are all in Murderfist! And the guy at 3:05 is Ben Kissel who is also on Last Podcast on the Left! i adore their content lmao
i’m convinced this is legitimately one of the best videos on youtube this is so well produced and has such good humor while having that adult swim infomercials feel but its completely independent it has so much in 10 minutes and i dont ever think in my time watching videos on youtube i’ve found something better/similar
ngl i came here to watch the whole thing cuz i was watching the night mind video and saw henry, and then ben, ed, and holden's names in the credits, and had to lol
it is pretty sad that synydyne isnt doing anything anymore to my knowledge im still just hoping that, like godseed, theyre just dormant and will return when we least expect it however unlikely that may be still gotta play bear stearns bravo
BLOCKED and They just want to steal intellectual material to profit themselves .08% of what I made in the past few years alone is over 80 billion and I'm living in the basement nobody seems to want to help I've made hundreds of pages of ARPA plans and thousands of pages of well researched plans projects and programs that will benefit the entire city and every district but they're blocking me from the community and community things I'm bad
Love this incredible video - it has informed my taste and humor for years and years after seeing it. If anyone has a copy of the book from this game, please let me know how much $ you’d want to let it go.
The book was just "scans" that they posted on flickr, pretty sure it wasn't a real thing. source - have jpgs of the book that i saved years ago from flickr
Thank you for reup. When one door closes, another opens to the same place eventually no matter what you do to eliminate the first door or how much stuff you put in front of it the door will live on you can never go back before the invention of the time machine
We're Milwaukee! All we do is drink, and we'll drink anything. We just put the tequila on the side until we've accumulated an entire pint, then chug it.
I remember a couple things that made it into a video. Around that point, people pieced together enough clues and met with the 3 Young Professionals at a coffee shop and were given something (another clue? maybe a godseed fragment? I forget). Then they found Worker in a park and had to chase some other people off for some reason holding godseed fragments above their heads yelling "bonus!" and "bonub!" I think after that another timed meeting was missed or they couldn't make sense of the clues and it just petered out.
i always end up here somehow one year from when i last watched it the blackstar implant in my brain must activate yearly still haven't played bear stearns bravo but i did learn that dril worked on it and its actually like one of the reasons we know what his actual name is lol honestly as someone who never even heard of horse ebooks until afterwards i still dont get the whole thing around it although i kinda get it accidentally becoming a cultural phenomenon of sorts which basically guarantees whatever ending you give it WILL disappoint people one of the reasons as someone whos been dabbling with writing and art and making games and shit that i hope i never really gain that big of a following so that i can have whatever i make go out on its own terms endings are important, if something never ends i feel like a descent into mediocrity is inevitable, especially for anything of quality theres a reason that all remarkably good resturaunts are the first to close, while consistently passable or mediocre ones can stay open longer its way harder to keep up a high standard of quality yeah not really anything to do with the video just my own musings on something adjacent i guess lol we'll see if i end up back here next year
horse ebooks having a notoriously "bad" ending made it more notable in the long run than if it just like, stopped posting forever with no conclusion. people at the time were pissed but would anyone care about horse ebooks if the account just slowly stopped posting? the fact that it was ran by a human posting every 4 hours nonstop for years is far more impressive than the narrative of a "spambot gone wrong" whatever you make, whether or not it gains notability, should end on its own terms whether or not people perceive it as good or bad. the only bad ending is one unfaithful to your vision. synydyne were geniuses, all of their projects so unique. they've moved on to, well, more profitable pursuits it seems and good for them! but i still hope they come back someday. you should play bear stearns bravo before it disappears. there are thousands of paths people still haven't discovered a decade later. if you love this, you'll love BSB
