Hellmet was a breath of fresh air, so if you want to give it a go yourself, I'd highly recommend it! Game Link: www.roblox.com/games/13815196... Discord Link: / discord
If you go to the studios group (Mi Gato Creations) in the description it says: when making games, we hereby swear to follow these rules: - NO monetization - NO p2w stuff - ONLY original ideas for gameplay - NO appealing to younger audiences with predatory monetization / gameplay loop schemes (aka simulators) that's why there are no microtransactions and never will be
I think having some sort of monetization should be justified. People spend days on days and hours upon hours working on games, so having monetization features and having people pay for something in your game should be justified for the amount of work out in the game. I don't like the kind of monetization that makes you able to get better stuff than anyone else in the game or just P2W.
@@therealbugmanta3187they get their funds from premium payouts so they must be making a lot to have the option to not have a direct form of monetization in their game
@@CornMan-ic4bbgame made by a ragtag dev team on a platform made for predatory brainrot and random indie gems vs a game made by a multibillion dollar company over the course of years? fair enough
Fun fact: Hellmet is actually set 10 years before the events of Dummies vs Noobs, which is another Roblox game. It would be great if you also checked out that game as well!
CODE RED, I REPEAT CODE RED. ECLIPSE LIKES A GAME, THIS IS NOT A DRILL. SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY. (this is just a joke i love it when eclipse talks well about a game and will be playing this game)
A few things to note after watching; - Tripwire doors were added to the tutorial a few days ago, unfortunately you missed them. - 7:06 Hostages getting up and running is decided by the AID, similar to Left 4 Dead, meaning that you won't be able to ziptie them no matter what. Bugs like not running away, or not properly pathfinding to an exit are being worked on. - 8:10 Hostile reaction time has been nerfed, instantly shooting rarely happens now. (Also hostiles can only be intimidated when they're unaware of your presence, or stunned.) - 9:10 The developer has a strict "No monetization" policy, microtransactions will not be added. Though a donation feature would be nice Pretty sure you've figured out everything else. Also, please check out the developer's other game, Dummies Vs Noobs. It's a team-based siege defence game, set in the same universe as HELLMET. It's not being worked on anymore, though I consider it to be equal to HELLMET in terms of overall quality.
dummies va noobs is a wave type defense with multiple players and bosses, a different feel because HELLMET is very slow paced while dummies vs noobs can be more intense
@@dr.doctor4878 Let's hope bawak coming back could possibly change that. No major update, just some bugfixes and making it possible for more people to activate hell mode..
about the door bomb part, you need to use lockpick then carefully bump on the door via your character and when you see the wire you cut it and after that you can easily open it. you can peek trough rooms with lockpicks too even if they dont have bomb traps nearby.
@scriptedblocks5386 just use this strat like every time you open a door. opening it normally like that is going to get you shot so why not do it every time just to be safe.
I never thought a game set in the same universe as goddamn "Dummies vs Noobs" would end up being a game Eclipse liked so much Very happy to see what sensei and the rest of migato will cook up in the future Also the reason why they let you go trigger happy is likely because you're in the middle of a race war Don't ask, the DvN universe is messed up, has a hole slur dictionary in multiple fictional languages
The randoms experience is extremely 50/50. Sometimes you get people treating it like Call of Duty, sometimes you get people who genuinely play the game like they're actual covert operators.
Even when you play as the game intended, somehow there’s gonna be a random npc in the way of the guy that you need to shoot, basically throwing the game if you’re playing solo lol. But ofc that’s kinda rare. My rng just seems to be kinda bad sometimes
seeing hellmet get the praise and attention its getting rn is making me so happy since i was a big fan of the devs previous game so its super nice seeing them get the success they deserve
I just played this game yesterday and loved it, can't believe just the next day, eclipse would post a video on it. I guess the tutorial has changed because the tutorial now explains everything you really need to know, including the wired bombs.
you should also check out dummies vs noobs, the other game this (amazing) studio made! its more fast paced and you're expected to be on a team of ~5 players, but randoms will do most of the time in my experience. dummies vs noobs (dvn) is a wave survival, futuristic(?) shooter where you (dummies) have to survive 10 waves of the enemy, (noobs). it gets really hard and there are a wide range of tools and upgrades you can get. there are some (albeit minor) features of sharing resources and its actually set in the same universe as hellmet
One of the main issues is that it doesn't tell you about radios and grenade traps, which are very important things to know how to deal with properly yet they exclude it from the tutorial as well as excluding the fact that enemies SPAWN due to the mechanic of the Emissary which you have to find out ALSO via the wiki
In the tutorial there is a grenade trapped door, and the game tells you how to disarm it. I'm watching this 2 days later so it's possible that the developers added it after the video.
You can defuse the door bomb by slightly opening it(near handle button) and cutting wire by pressing space. Also they updated the tutorial and added how to defuse section.
Hey Eclipse! I strongly agree that there should be a part in the tutorial about tripwire traps. To disable them, you can nudge the door VIA a button that is normally on the handle, then cut the tripwire. If the door is locked and u can't unlock it... you're screwed.
some enemies that have guns WILL count as hostages if you kill them because if you click F on them they will actually leave their guns on the ground, and im not talking about clicking F while their back is turned.
Hey eclipse stupid tip from a certified DVN and hellmet veteran here but a lot of the times if you rush to the middle of the map on pvp enemies won't be as fast as you and will try to play it safe. you will then be able to hold more aggressive angles closer to their side of the map sooner.
watching the start, and seeing the hostages try to run, and him shooting them while he calmy talk is shocking. also the get by, tripwires. you must slow push the door, you can do this by interacting with the icon by the handle, and slowly walking to the door, then when the tripwire is visible, you must cut it by interacting with it.
OH MY GOD, YOU REVIEWED THIS GAME. I THINK I’M IN LOVE. But yeah, some things that are in the works: 1. The bomb doors have a special way to open them. They can be slowly opened by using the lockpick, pushing it open slowly, and cut the wire. There isn’t a tutorial for it but one is planned soon. 2. The creators, Migato creations, has a strict no monetization policy for their games. Even in their other game, Dummies vs Noobs, that had a (pretty barebones) cosmetic shop, there was no way to buy the currency to buy cosmetics. Thanks for reviewing this game. I agree with a lot of stuff you said. I would have said to play Dummies vs Noobs because I also think it’s a pretty good game, but the developers have stopped development on it as they want to have Hellmet as their main project. It also doesn’t have any sort of tutorial, most of the information regarding normal enemies is pretty barren (though there is a very scuffed index in game which for some reason requires levels to progress into), but boss mechanics have some decent context clues in the form of “aerial reconnaissance” giving you a bit of information on the boss. Overall I would say it’s a good game and you should play it but I’m afraid you might not enjoy it.
Hey eclipse! This game is actually linked to a whole different game about a war. And I'll like to stop the misinformation people make about this game's lore. You play as military officers during a civil war. Your enemies are Guesans. You are Nusians. Nusians are noobs. Guesans are guests. And those aren't civilians, they're enemies that surrender. So called "non hostiles". This place takes place in 2035. 10 years later, a war broke out between Dominia and Nusia. That game is called dummies Vs noobs. You play as dummies in that game. :D
Hey, for trapped doors the best way to go about them is to nudge them open a tiny bit at first (the interaction on the doorhandle) push them slightly more open with your body, and interact with the new option to defuse it. Or, bring a plate or two (gadget, costs 4 budget) and you will be able to tank the explosion on normal difficulty. Also on public servers, communication is key. If you get a newbie with no trigger discipline, teach the game to them.
to defuse the tripwire bomb, you can use the "careful open" door option so it's opened wide enough to not trigger the bomb and to see the bomb itself, then you have to step back out of it's radius and shoot it from afar. if you can't then change the angle you try to shoot it in. and if there's not enough space to actually shoot it. you have to just sit there and um...wait... because it despawns on it's own after a bit (unless that's a bug and it's been fixed) or if you have a teammate with you, one of you will have to open it themselves and then the other to revive the downed one (note they will be left on 1 hp after being revived)
For bombs, you interact the with the door handle, whcih unlocks it, and requires you to walk through the door to open it, slowly, if you see a grenade/bomb, you interact the the wire, and it will defuse
Eclipse, try playing Dummies vs Noobs! It's made by the same creators, takes more of a wave defense approach, and a blast to play with friends in a private server. It's a little... boring or annoying to play at first, because you will be dying A LOT, and your weapons are limited, but once you get used to the game controls and get just a few levels it becomes amazing. I think you'd like it!
there's a cool mechanic with doors that can help you avoiding bombs, if door isn't locked you can come near it and hold q or e (depends the way the door is placed), this make you slowly open doors (helps with throwing flashbangs) and if there's a bomb you can keep opening door slowly to disarm it (the rope on bomb with cut itself if done correctly)
You can go past the bomb by open the door handle(you can interact with it by look down a bit near the corner of the door )and slowly push the door open till it reveals the wire so you can cut it
The bomb traps make a sound that identifies them, to deactivate them you must open the door carefully looking directly at the handle, then when you have opened it enough you can cut the cable without problem
Me and my friends discovered that grenades can be identified by a static buzzing sound and to overcome them you have to stand on the side of the door with the handle then kick or open it.
I’m definitely going to be keeping an eye on these devs in the future. They made dummies vs noobies which I think is already a pretty good game and now they made this
about the tripwire bombs on the doors, there is a prompt to open the door slowly if you look at the door handle before opening it. while the door is opening you can see the wire and there'll be a prompt for you to defuse it 👍
To make up for the pvp problem of 3rd person, the tear gas acts like a killing smoke bomb, that also gives auditory cues of an enemy within that’s protected. The 42 is the pistol in question and it is skill mandatory to use, because it has insane recoil and a 3 second wait time between shots, you just got unlucky with enemies on that situation because they were a 42 main, which the only protection from is hellmet. Finally, as someone who enjoys the pvp mode (and not for the camping reason), it’s skill balanced so someone of higher level will almost always beat you unless you get the drop on them and get a lucky headshot, so it makes sense it might not have been new player friendly
im pretty sure i remember in the tutorial the last door told me about the grenade trap thing, and yes you can defuse them, you have to open the door slowly by interacting with the handle and then interact with the string, im not sure why i remember it in the tutorial and you dont, maybe they added it within 20 hours of your video lol. Its definitely good, especially by roblox standards, but i think theres still room to iron out some silly things, like NPC's jumping like cats when you shoot someone, which you can even see at 8:02 , which is extremely problematic when the lil goober that jumps is a dude with a gun. I love settings, i think this game could definitely use more, and also allow me to open a menu or something to change these settings mid game and not only on the menu, or if they do have this, make it more clear that i can, i would love to see a toggle lean, and back to the tutorial, it definitely leaves out some useful information still, like pressing ctrl to move slower and more quietly, z to toggle aim, and x and c for communication. also enemies should not be able to open doors that they can clearly see has a grenade on it, thats a very dumb way to die, also in the room on the second level with the door control level, radio for helicopter, in that room with the lever, ive faced the issue multiple times where id have to get right close to the door for the enemies to spawn, i would literally watch them pop into existence, very not ideal. nontheless, its pretty good other than mostly minor gripes and issues, definitely worth trying, i hope it continues to receive attention from players and the developer/s alike, its always nice to see a game on this god awful platform be atleast actually half decent
if the npcs dont listen, you can threaten them with a warning shot, that works most of the time, they'll either listen or attack you thats just some small tip if you do want to continue playing this game once there are new missions eclipse
Now there is a section of the tutorial that tell you about the tripwires, it really shows how much you are the saint of the Roblox game universe and your words should be tooken as gospel
On dealing with the wire trap,if you look at the handle you will notice you can interact with it,this allows you to slowly open the doorthis opens the door enough for you to cut the wire
you can remove the bomb trap by slowly open the door. Hover your cursor by the handle, press space, then walk up to the door to push it, the door will be push open slightly then u can just hover at the tripwire and hold space.
Tip for you all begginers, there is no death bonus. To get it you have to only kill runners, knifers and hostiles that are standing up after they surrender. Theres no civilian killed bonus, i think its pretty self explanatory. First time bonus, meaning you cant die (restart or replay the level) even once (or twice). Difficulty bonus (self explanatory). I recommend you guys to use hardkill with beanbag ammo to get no deaths bonus. Dont use tablet (secondary item), because it has no use for now. DO NOT rush doors if you dont have a good equipment for dealing with crowds etc. because in most cases you will die. Listen to the highest level in the lobby. They are very chill and helpful, because theres not much to rage about this game. Dont mix silent and loud gameplay style. You will see why its the worst thing u can do. And i think e very useful tip: dont play with players that are unable to chat. They are either not from the country you are from and dont understand what youre saying or theyre just unable to chat, meaning you have no communication between eachother resulting in no cooperation, resulting in almost certain lose. I hope these tips are uself, have fun playing!
The fleeing enemies can be solved with a few weapons being the taser and shotgun. You see, the shotgun has a little ammo type called beanbags which is a non-lethal ammo type that only stuns enemies which also works when they run and while they’re stunned you can intimidate and they’ll stop to give you another chance at ziptying them. The taser speaks for itself tho because like… it’s a taser-
You should try Cursed Tank Simulator, it's a very fun tank game that lets you mix and match hulls, turrets and guns to make your own tank. It has realistic damage modules and a lot of features like Thermals, FCS and so on. I really reccomend trying it.
Funnily enough, in the testing there was no context clue about the gas and respirator rooms. This was added in this time because Sensei followed the wise words of Gaben and not let players learn under pressure but through hints and visuals
Well, before the release of open alpha, that whole scene was replaced with one of the characters directly telling you. Effective, but the latter is better
This game is great, played through it fully already and unlocked all the guns, every level is randomly generated, you weren't softlocked fully, you're supposed to lockpick the door and cut the wire to disarm the explosives. They did update the tutorial later to make it include tripwire explosives.
i played this game in the early testing stage and god damn its still cool af p.s: the way to get rid of tripwires is to shoot them, so, you'll be able to see them in like the door, so you'll wanna get distance and shoot it.
I don't know if anyone has said this yet but i'll try to help a bit about the wires you can get closer to the door handle and a prompt to push the door yourself unless it is locked wich you'll need a lockpick to push it open slowly wich lets you disarm the traps behind those doors with yet another prompt once you're close enough to the wire hope I could help with this explanation {Sorry for no punctuation nor comas my first language isn't English so I struggle on that part}
for the bombs you need to peek the door and you get an option to cut the wire also when i played it the tutorial did actually have a part where it talked about the bomb doors
Hey Eclipse! You should play combat initiation a PVE game were you team up with friends/randoms to kill wave after wave while also evading taxes!! I hope you play it its a pretty good game
you can avoid dying to trapped doors by opening it slowly if its locked use a lock pic if you open it slowly you can cut the wire for the trap before it goes off
4:21 a little explanation, most of the time if npc get up from being down that means they're hostile now, but apparently one of them think tying zipties is space aka stand up the npc(maybe) so they shoot that innocent girl
Honestly it's nice to see him play actual good games. So I rly want you to just play(not necessary review)stars align which is a very good 3d platformer
3:03 im sure theres many comments telling you this but your meant to push the door open using the icon that appears on the handle, after that your meant to walk into the door until you can spot the bomb, where you can then defuse it.
I just did the first mission on extreme solo it doesnt really change much other than hostile hp and how many civilians you can kill plus the hostiles do more dmg other than that just bring 1 healthpen and camera gun and you win
They already fixed the tutorial not having the tripwire bombs, so that's pretty neat. But if you don't wanna redo the tutorial, you basically have to slow open the door (look at the door handle and a prompt will show up to slowly open it. If the prompt doesn't show up, the door is locked and you need lockpicks).
if you look at the hand of a door after lock picking it and press space you can move closer to the door and it will open slightly allowing you to defuse the trap by looking at the string attached to the door and pressing space to snip it. also the games tutorial to my knowledge has been updated to include this and (maybe) other stuff that wasnt covered. hope you see this!
just started today its really fun and as for the bombs if someone hasn't told you already you can slightly open the door (rip if you don't have lockpick and its locked) and cut the wire
Door Bomb Manual : Two methods of defusal 1. Lockpick (or if unlocked), proceed to move close to the tripwire and hold SPACE to disarm the bomb (Scissors symbol) 2. Get behind the wall on the HANDLE SIDE of the door and open the door at once (if you are behind the wall, the bomb is harmless) Advised method: 1st (unless there's more than 1 hostile in the room, sometimes it is more optimal to trigger the bomb as it may kill hostile(s) and or civilian(s) so its less work to deal with)
at the end of the first mission, the tutorial, it teaches you about bombs rigged with explosives, one of the things you complained about. pretty sure this was added after you played and recorded the gameplay, so i wont blame you for it
Hi Eclipse, hope this comment will find you well (and not playing sum shit like bee game) , I tought of leaving my game suggestion here: Tower Galactica , is a tower deffense game (shocker) wich is full to the brim with mecanics: enemies that target YOU (you have 3 respawns as far as I remember), enemies that can kill your towers, random bullet hell attacks arround the map and so on. The game is sadly discontinued due to its high difficulty and might have some code ruined by newer roblox updates. Hope you will check the game out sooner or later. (The game might have some sort of tutorial if I remember)
I think you should definitely check out what the game precedes, Dummies vs Noobs. It's a lot faster paced and follows a wave defense over tactical breaching, but it's an amazing game in it's own right and good fun. Just, please don't get your first impressions from the Specialist class, it's an awkward one.
Hey Eclipse, if you want a suggestion for a roblox game, I’d suggest Merc Fleet. It’s fairly underground, however I don’t exaggerate at all when I say this: It has the most fun movement out of any roblox shooter and even more fun than some platformers. This might be overstepping it but the sheer speed of the movement might make it a bit more fun than Ultrakill’s movement.
the creator of this game has also maed another f2p multiplayer wave survival game called Dummies vs Noobs and I think you should check it out too since it's also a great and very well made game. It will take a lot of time to get used to it (Some bosses are Extremely hard) and you need to level up to unlock upgrades, but when you do it is a game that I would personally rate an 8 out of 10.
I bet some people have already said it but just incase they haven't, if you look at the door handle on a door wit ha trip wire and press space, it opens the door so you can slowly push it open, and then cut the trip wire.
The devs said that they were never gonna put microtransactions, bc they wanted to make a game for fun, and because there were sooo many scams back then, so they informed people that they wouldnt add microtransactions
To disarm a tripwire hook, you aren't softlocked. you HAVE to have a pop-up on the door that looks like a hand pushing it, after you press that you have to push the door with your body, then you will see a wire indicating a tripwire, YOU DO NOT SHOOT IT, you go up to the bomb and there should be a scissor icon on it, press and hold until you hear a snip sound and now you have successfully disarmed a tripwire
I do too, wish more games used the show not tell mindset rather than tell and not show. It’s nice to see visually what we need to do instead of it being fed to us like a baby.
if youre still wondering how to get past the tripwire bombs simply just position yourself at the wall where the door handle is closest to it and open the door cause the bomb wont be able to kill you from its position 👍
There’s two methods to get past grenade doors. 1. Stand adjacent to the door handle, the wall will be your cover and you’ll take no damage from the explosion. 2. Lock pick the door (if it’s locked) then use the nudge button on the door handle. You’ll be able to see the bomb without setting it off, then there will be an option to cut the wire disabling it. This information was just added to the tutorial after you finished filming. You can see a full update log in the games discord.
