Back in the day you could get fired for buying a product somewhere else if the company store had it. In many cases you lost your job and your home at the same time because the company owned it and your lease was dependent upon your being an employee. The old cotton mills down here were the same way. The company really did own you.

@@MrsRealistic I am yeah. Lol. Not Appalachian. Powder river basin there’s about 16 coal mines in this small area of northeast Wyoming. And have been playing guitar for about 20 years. Lol!
