it’s not delayed. It got a guinness world record for being the game with the longest production time but since it never got an official release date then it never got delayed.
@@StalwartShinobi I did look it up because I also thought Duke Nukem held it, but Beyond Good and Evil 2 is officially the longest delayed game ever! Even won the record 🍻
It’s worth noting that the actual development of this game actually started around 6 years ago when the cinematic teaser was released. The reason they did this is because they wanted other people to participate in making the game through the Space Monkey Program. The trailer from 2008 was actually a completely different project that was scrapped indefinitely and never picked up again. I promise, the only similarities in both projects is the title of the games. Completely *new* people are making this game with *new* ideas, *new* assets, *new* mechanics, and a *new* engine. Sure it’s the longest video game title that has ever been teased. But, the misconception of this game being in development for 15 years is just plain dishonest and misleading. It makes the development team look bad and unprofessional for no reason. Now, there’s no denying that the game has been in some development hell, but this false accusation dose not need to be added to the mix of all the bullshit that the developers are going through.
I was a teen when I played the first one... however, it was already 2013 so... I'm still waiting for it. My hype when the second part was actually still on the making and not cancelled yet, was beyond, awesomeness, but like you said... that was four years ago... I'm actually making some fanart for it... you know, for closing cycles. If it it's released or not... I don't care anymore
I was 9, played it in 2005. At the time, was already one of my favorite games. It only got finer with age for me. It's probably my second most replayed game. I've patiently waited for this sequel since. It's getting rough.
I wish ubisoft could somehow give this game franchise to someone better like sonys team Asobe which ever one is making the ps5 astrobot game coming in September they could do right by the sequel the first one was so good to play even if it's an older game at heart it's a classic and one of all time favorites
Kind of crazy to put this in perspective. Silksong was announced in 2019. Even If Beyond Good and Evil 2 would somehow be released this year, Silksong would need to be delayed until 2036 to beat the record.
It never got a release date… so no it’s not the most delayed game ever, it’s the game that has been in production for the longest time. But since ubisoft never declared an official release date, no it’s not the most delayed game.
Tons off delays only sgow miss management people with teams of 6 make better more ambitious games in 3 years for the time it takes these massive studios to release a hollow peice of shit
Crazy part is the Remaster coming out on Tuesday has a mission LINKING IT TO THE SECOND GAME supposedly, idk if it’s confirmed yet but I saw it from a source and hope it’s actually true because with the remaster coming out gamescom and the game awards would be the BEST time to Re-announce it
It was supposed to be a prequel of the first game and explaining more about Jade's connection to DomZ. Jade's voice actress passed away in like 2017 or so.
learn you facts the game that anounced in 2008 was a sequel and later was cancelled. the 1017 was a different one and prequel and 2017 was pretty much day one in development.
Duke Nukem Forever still hold the title i believe. This game hasnt been in steady enough production to qualify. Its like star wars theorys episode 2 of Vader, they keep posting small stuff but not showing anything worth seeing other than a 'coming soon' title 😑
When I was 8, Beyond good and evil was the first video game I ever beat, along with halo and tomb raider. But BG&E was undoubtedly my favorite experience overall. They can take as long as they need to make this game, as long as they do it right! 🙌🏼
All these complainers who wait for 2 to 3 years and send death threats for delayed games have NOTHING on me. Its been announced in 2008 but Ive been waiting for 18 years!!!
7 years I’ve been waiting patiently for 7 years of my life. I even went back and played the original The original 2008 trailer is not the same beyond good and evil 2 we “have” today. They released that trailer and cancelled development of the game many years later. Then a few years after that they started to work on the beyond good and evil 2 that we have now. So realistically they’ve been working on the game for 6/7 years Also this game will have nothing to do with the original, which kinda sucks, but I’m still excited. Last note: yes you should play the original…it’s a fantastic classic and still runs fine
The trailers made me so hype, and then the gameplay felt so contradictory. Not even because of the gameplay, but because what it implied about the characters, making it sound like they'd be killed off right from the start. To much a buzzkill for me to stay hyped. Saying that as a fan of the original, but i was so down for the 2017 trailer hinting at it being more spinoff, considering the original games cliffhanger ending
Tbh tho, if it isnt continuing Jade's story or her backstory (or her family) prior to BG&E1 I'm not interested. When they showed the trailer with the monkey dude, my hype rock bottomed
I am still waiting and hoping the game will released🫣🔥 Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition I've played again and the game is still one of the games ever! I played this game a few years ago and I loved it and because I played it again I have get more information and know now who is Knox, Yashaan, Uma an Callen.😎
Ngl I don't have high jppes for it when it does release, it seems like it's gonna be pretty disconnected from bge1 which is sad because it has one of the best stories I've played
The longest game was Duke nukem forever (good choice of the name because the production last 15 years) due to the oversized ambition of George Broussard, the director of the game (well, for a lot of people, he's the one who kill the game). But yes, Beyond good and evil 2 is very long. But this is because the développement is pretty slow and the ideas were deleted and the changes are constant. Are we gonna have a very good game or a complete disaster like the sadly famous Skull and bones ? Let's wait a little bit longer and then we can have a proper opinion about it
It hurts because ive been waiting for it the whole time. I played the original as a child on three different consoles. I signed up to be an official beta tester. I check the website often. I try to follow the development. But it's just dead silent. I WANT to support this game. Im TRYING. So where is it?
They are not working on it anymore. They stopped working in 2018, after the Old Guard at Ubisoft failed to convince the executives that it would be just as successful as the live service games they were currently working on.
To be honest, I don't care if the game came out looking similar to what we see.. Its a game that just deserves to exist and I'd want the story and game play to take priority over graphics.. Clearly the pre rendered animation of the trailers isn't what we should expect of the real game. And I can still bet even if it released in a similar condition, that it would still be a bit more fleshed out.. Its technically an out dated demo. So no harm in knowing there's evolution. But again.. I want story and game play to take priority. The original game to today's standards has good graphics but definitely our dated.. Yet, I was blown away by the game on its own and absolutely HOOKED. If that can do that modernly for me, then this game doesn't need good graphics to do the same.
well my friend remember that this is ubisoft we are talking about a company that protects serial sexual assaulters at the highest levels, produces nothing but the same 3 open world games with different skins and then loads them up with ingame transactions, beyond good and evil 2 deserves to exist but not under ubisoft, if it were any decent indie studio or lower level developer I would 100% agree but under ubisoft fuck no the game deserves to just get put down then be tainted by corporate greed like they do in the AAA industry
When a game is delayed for 16 years and mostly had pre-rendered cutscenes to show for the trouble, there’s no denying how much development hell it has been in. I don’t even know if it’s worth releasing, Ubisoft are gonna take a MASSIVE loss on it either way. They’re never getting their money back.
Its most likely been put on the back burner due to people leaving like the main producer for being burnt out, all the SA cases, and more of a focus on SW Outlaws. It's possible we could see assets from SW Outlaws moved over to BGAE2.
Firstly, whatever we saw in 2018 would never release in that state. It is massively overscoped. Would never leave development hell. Secondly, as a fan of the original I'd never play it based on the trailers I saw. BG&E was essentially a Zelda-type game with a more expressive protagonist and extremely memorable characters. It was about the free press versus tyranny, about building a resistance against a military industrial complex. All of the new trailers were about some bland open-world create-your-own-character BS that seem to have absolutely nothing to do with the original. Again, it's never coming out, but I wouldn't play it if it did.
And it’s almost 2024 and still nothing pretty sure this game is not coming out same with half life 3 l4d 3 and kingdom hearts fore but no one gives a shit about that anymore!
