Great video, has been my experience as well. I’m testing dual reference 6900XT in a 2019 Mac Pro, and it beats the dual Vega ii in pretty much every video and render task. Would love to see your Mac Pro results as well!

@@MorgonautHackintosh Thank you! I’m going to follow your build with one exception - I’d like to go with 2x 6800xt’s if supported. I currently have a 64 core 3990x PC build with 4x2080ti’s for Houdini and C4D 3D animation using Octane render and Redshift which until very recently only supported CUDA/Nvidia. That said they still run better on CUDA/RTX. When Apple dropped support for Nvidia I had to jump ship as a lot of the rendering software we use has been CUDA only. Too bad I can’t use this system as a dual boot setup :/ I need to build a Mac though as we have been filming a lot of backplates on the RED Gemini lately and one of my bigger clients has switched to a FCPX / Mac only production pipeline. If I do this build are there a lot of complex kext and and other installation procedures or has it gotten easier than it was a few years ago when I did my last Hackintosh build? If it’s pretty involved I would be open to paying your consulting fee if your available…

I personally use Redshift in Houdini and mnm, it's amazing. My 2019 Mac Pro and 2x Radeon Pro Vega II cards are flying. 2x 6800XT will be of course nice, but only 16GB framebuffer which is not much. I have 64GB of video memory available for renders. Later this year the W6800 will come, that would be better choice for rendering. And no, no crazy kexts are needed :) People just should build it the correct way and not the way you see in hackintosh forums full of arrogant liars and id!ots.

(but I see no point to upgrade yet and I can't make it work because high sierra doesn't boot on my i9 9900KF but saw someone that had succeed doing it... you can believe to whatever you want, but Apple would be against itself if they would do that :) So my opinion is - there is never gonna be any support for the 7xxx GPU series from AMD. Period.

@giuseppe tatasciore - hi guiseppe, I never tested the non xt sapphire version but if it's Sapphire 6800 then I see no reason why it should not work :) I tested the reference 6800 which obviously worked as expected

Haha I had the same issue for so long, til I noticed that on my Nvidia Card. 2x8 PIN with one Cable is bad. Also Corsair PSU, so maybe it is an Corsair Issue overall :D

dont you know why my 6900xt on blackmagic speed test on windows on same 8k 12:1 test only shows 49 fps on GPU ? and 6800xt in this video shows 163 fps on metal. Is it because my cpu is 3700x and bottlenecking? or because of windows open cl being slow?

did I recommend even a single time any MSI GPU? NEVER! It's your problem you made the mistake and bought crappy MSI. If you would buy GPUs I recommend you would never had a problem

@@MorgonautHackintosh I know it's not a 6800 XT, but even so... I also have a normal RX 6900 XT, which works perfectly, but the Liquid version, also from AMD, doesn't have graphics acceleration on Mac OS... on Windows it works fine.

why? there is not a single super computer on this planet which would make Adobe Crappy Premiere magically get good performance :) Does not matter on what hardware you run Premiere, it will always have bad performance

@@MorgonautHackintosh Sorry, I was just hoping it would be possible to run this video card, I have an eGPU box with pcie 3.0 x16, and the radeon rx 7600 xt has pcie 4.0 x8, so Thunderbolt 3 bandwidth would be enough to run this video card But apparently without Apple's support it will be impossible to do so Love you ❤️

You must be disappointed that they stopped making loud blower cards? Since last time I left a comment about how loud and inferior blower designed cards were, and you vehemently disagreed with me and proclaimed your preference to be blower cards because they expelled heat outside of the case.

What's the point of your "smart" comment? I use daily 2 blower style gpus and they are not loud at all, non-blower cards would not fit/work for me. So keep your anger and I will happily keep my blower cards.
