Honestly to really understand all aspects of the business i suggest becoming a carrier 1st as i did , just to dispatch trucks , then open a brokerage at the same time that way you undertand whats fair and whats not and you always profit. Their will be times when carriers are winning and their will be times the brokers are winning, but if you do both your always winning ! Its ALOT of hard work but its the closest to a sure thing to make profits in this industry .
Im opened my brokerage last november 20 , I moved 48 reefer loads with an average of 18 % to 27 % profit !! , i just focus in reefer loads ! Its just me working , Thanks for your videos brandon !!! Im a carrier too, and I never do double brokerage, I use my trucks as a carrier to move some brokered loads from my customers when I have my trucks in the area !! Tha help me a lot !!
Congratulations you’re robbing truck drivers. That’s terrible seriously unethical. Free brokers should only be allowed to make single digit profits far is percentagewise. She’ll drivers are doing all the hard work putting their equipment on the line away from your family and your taken 20% in 30%? That’s awful that’s terrible. It’s like robbing a military veteran. Truck drivers are such an important role in our every day world and you’re over here taking a quarter or 30% more or more off their back

@Off mask. $20 is not enough of a income to pay for the contracts, the dispatch, the phones, internet service, or TMS … I totally understand paying drivers and that can be done thru factoring but no one is in business for $20. Walmart is a broker as well and I don’t see these types of comments about making no money and just paying drivers. Logistics is a system with many players and it’s time for drivers to educate themselves in business as a whole not just their pockets. That’s not business that’s a hustle. In this age we have to get past the poverty mentality and focus on the wealth creation model.

I have a ton of time in the industry. However not on the broker side. I have taken the Tia class and it was not as helpful as your series of videos (collectively). Our doors opened Tuesday(5 days ago) with fmcsa, tendered our first load Friday and all went well, Driver delivered this am. I attribute this to scouting shippers weeks before being active. I also set all my software, website, accounting etc up in advance. My question is what are you using for crm? Is there one that will integrate with ascend or another tms? It would be nice to have all things in one place so I’m not jumping between software. Also do you have a guy that underwrites e&o contingency cargo for a fair price, been getting $7k annually for a quote on 250k gross annually . Thanks for the videos, keep them coming.
@@christopherthompkins3748 walked into a shipper and just inquired if they had someone present who I could discuss inbound and outbound freight lanes with. The front desk said yes and I waited about 2 minutes. The manager came out and after 5 minutes of discussion she told me to write down my information (I was waiting on business cards to arrive from vista print ) and she would get in touch. 2 hours later after lunch she had emailed me the requirements to work with the company and requested my broker packet. I would also like to mention this company moves a large amount of freight as they have multiple products harvested and distributed all year. I will say it is best to go slow and try to learn with smaller runs so if you make a mistake the cost to your company is minimal. Also learned a lot on my first run finally being on the opposite end which inspired confidence to keep on going.

I'm having a issue just getting the shippers to talk to me . I've been in the trucking buisness for 10 years. I'm really familiar with how it all works but I've spent 2 months and have 10 agents calling and we can't get it done . Is this normal?
Hey sound like you've been in the right business if you've been in trucking for 10 years. You possibly could talk to shippers personally. I wish you nothing, but blessings. I would start off small though, if you haven't gotten any customers, I wouldn't have agents until you are moving a bunch of freight.

Yes u can. If you find a shipper before your authority becomes active, get with a brokerage and get a 70% off profit then once u get ur brokerage, transfer your shippers with you
@@balticintelligence5713 no where. You will have to get your own shipper or work with a broker that is willing to show you his books. Aka wont likely happen. You don’t need to see what the broker made all you need to know is your cost to operate. Anything over that cpm is profit, problem is most carriers don’t understand what that is. It’s crucial to stay in business…

I don't have my first customer yet, but it sounds like you were in the right industry to move medical equipment. There was a guy on RU-vid that was a carrier and I believe he said he just went to a place that delivers and offered his services. I would research that field of moving medical supplies and then start calling. I'm wishing you nothing but blessings! You got this!

I need help fellow freight brokers... I'm new. I'm trying to start off finding produce shippers and a lot of them are telling me they are F.O.B. and I just don't understand what that is or how to counter that with a reply. What do I say a shipper that tells me they are FOB???
F.O.B....Freight On Boad; means that they have their own drivers to move their freight. There is nothing to tell or ask for they hire drivers as employees
