This is the Greatest Chase Scene Ever | Garth Marenghi's Darkplace 

We really really have to appreciate the fact that a hugely underappreciated show about a guy who made a show that was "too far ahead of its time" and "criminally cancelled" is turning out to be an incredibly underrated show that was too ahead of its time and is only being appreciated later. Haha

Every single aspect of this scene - the shaky cam, sped up camera speed, obvious stunt doubles, crappy blue screen, the sound effects, the music - is just comedy personified.

Imagine being an American student abroad and coming home to the flat after a night at the pub, and this is the first thing you see on the (unlicensed) television when you sit down in your room with one more beer. Fan. For. Life.

Noel Fielding is so diverse, he has two voices: gibberish and old cockney man. Sometimes he even mixes them together, it's a sight to behold.

I love the random use of stunt doubles in bad wigs for such dangerous feats as running through bushes! And details like the mirror's reflection showing Richard Ayoade/'Dean Learner' filming the scene at the start. Beautiful.

I’ve only just noticed at 3:25 that they used a stunt double for Dag running, but didn’t for the entirely of the bike chase. This show is honestly a work of genius

'You know me, Dag. I'm too busy just stayin' alive!' is actually a really badass one-liner for an action scene in the context of someone surviving a dangerous situation, and it was delivered with perfect timing.

A lot of people were surprised Garth even took on the strenuous physical challenges of this scene given his fear of water, but he was such a pro he didn't even warm up just boshed out this triumph first take.

I'm amazed that the Garth Marenghi series wasn't more popular. Brilliant, mad comedy yet hardly anyone I know actually watched it. Richard Ayoade was great in this and so was Alice Lowe .

Thank goodness Thornton wasn't affected after drinking a tiny sip. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to help.

Day in the life of Noel Fielding.

Whenever I'm out walking and come across a rental bike I can use I have to say 'ah, the biiike', in honour of this scene.

It's the little things like Dag's legs being cut out from the green screen that just elevates this scene. It's those little touches that make this even more brilliant.

I was 7 when it aired in adult swim and didn’t get the whole purpose of the show at first. I thought of the program as just another horror thriller series, not as a comedy which I later in life started to understand and now I’ve come to appreciate it more. Thank you Garth Marenghi for opening up your wild imagination to us and giving out a performance of a lifetime.

I love the use of motor bike noises even though they are clearly on normal bikes

Later, Dag says "that which died in my arms out there should have never walked God's Earth," implying that the tackle and punch was enough to kill the ape man.

Somehow this is the least accurate but also the most accurate recreation of every chase scene known to Man.

Awesome chase scene comparable with the classics from Bullet, The French Connection and The Blues Brothers. And any given episode of The Dukes Of Hazard/The A Team.
