Glad you're being safe with the straps in the trailer. Hauled nothing but paper rolls for a good number of years and never once threw a strap in the trailer. Never had an issue with them moving either, the rubber mats on the floor generally prevents movement. As you've probably noticed you need to take curves and turns slower due to the height of the rolls. Hope this helps you. Keep on truckin and keep the shiny side up.
@mikefeddersen2476
@mikefeddersen2476 8 месяцев назад
First load of paper rolls 11 years ago, 6 at roughly 7,000 pounds each. They put them on the rubber mats. I go to the truck stop and weigh my tandems, everything is perfect. As I am driving down the interstate someone cuts across 3 lanes of traffic, I thought I just tapped the brakes. 300 miles later I pull across a scale near Menomonee Wisconsin, my little tap shifted 3 rolls and now I am 4800 pounds over on drivers. $995 fine, company paid it, but I should have known somehow... F JB Hunt .

I had to trans load rolls at a truck stop one time because the other driver had to emergency break and the load shifted. It totally destroyed that trailer those paper rolls are no joke.

What did you do,find the only wet spot in the yard to close the trailer doors? This makes for wonderful Viewing i have never witnessed anyone agonizing over every single piece of minutiae associated with a truck wether it is picking up/ delivering/ fueling/ parking for the night / parking for a break / parking to go into a Walmart!! It’s exhausting watching him get tied in knots just thinking about some of this stuff, and as for parking up at 3-4:00 in the afternoon that’s fine,but get up early enough to compensate for whatever may come up , getting lost , traffic , getting lost , stopping for a break and don’t forget getting lost will also help with being late for an appointment. Keep on keeping on

And he's OVERLY cautious at everything from merging to parking. And THOSE hazard lights on ALL OF THE TIME (tick tock, tick tock). And he never plans routes ahead, so he starts complaining when he encounters road work and tryies to find a new one amidst slowly backing up screaming to his GPS (with his hazard lights ON 😂). Man I get it. It’s not the drivers that was super scary for me it’s the horribly planned out loading bays that I had to drop trailer off at. For example there was a loading bay that was just barley wide enough for the trailer with no margin for error and on top of that I had to block up 4 lanes traffic to get the trailer in luckily all the unloading crew came helped me back it in there and hold up traffic. If there is one thing I have learned is don’t be in hurry just relax and take your time. Good luck brother and stay safe man you got this

As for getting cut off. I am from NYC area, trust me, when people act selfish and rude, they mean it. Its jsut the way it is. LIke a lot of people/things, unless someone actually has experience doing something (like being a truck driver), they just don't get it (or don't care). People from the NYC city area are voted the rudest in America, year after year. It never occurs to people that are rude to truck drivers that they rely on truck drivers to deliver their goods (sometimes medicine), especially now more then ever. Self Driving Trucks are NEVER GOING To happen on a large scale, these projects that you seen tech companies pitching is just that, a project to get venture capital funding, so these tech companies can spending the next 10 or 15 years doing research/product development but never implement their ideas on scale. And America will never go back to using trains to shipping goods on a mass scale either (its just the American culture, we don't live in the 'United' States of America, we live in the 'Fragmented' states of America, where each state competes with other states).

Don't know how you OTR guys do it. I was regional LTL line haul / relay on a dedicated run from the Chicago area to Cleveland/Akron, Ohio. No customers to deal with, no sleeping in my truck (hotels), just terminal-to-terminal trailer delivery. I drove doubles most of the time but did haul 40', 45', 48' and 53' straight trailers often as well. The only thing that sucked was having to 'haunt' the Chicago area rail yards just to get freight. Had to do that a couple of times per week on the worst weeks. You OTR drivers are awesome.

Its Totally disgusting to save piss in the truck cab for that long. I dump mine out every morning in the grass. I rinse the container with a little water, and then spray it with Lysol. I've been using the same jug for months. No need to throw out full of liquid.

The same thing happened to me, but on the general street. There are immigrants from all over the world in New York. Unlike ordinary Americans, they do not have the correct concept of road use and morals. They often pass, cut roads, and honk for no reason. I hope to leave this hell as soon as possible.

Sounds like GP Transco fuel desk needs to work on their negotiations because our company gets a automatic diamond status every month which gives us unlimited. Free showers at loves.

Its good to see a young man as a Truck driver, and a nice one also. Is this your own personal truck? Or do you drive for a company? Where's the dispatcher tell us more about how you get your orders and where you go next.

just do two separate transactions. They dont have to be space apart by any meaningful amount of time. You could literally fill up 50gal, replace the fueling house, get the receipt, then do another transaction for another 50, etc. I program that kind of shit, it doesnt check
@thesausage351

Yeah I’d be doing that, they obviously have a reason to do it, but it seems unfair on truckers who fill up and get hundreds of gallons to only get one shower.

We hauled rolls all the time and never strapped them down. They aren’t going anywhere unless you go around the clover leaf too fast. Put the tandems under the last roll. You’ll be fine.

Why do you stop for so many hours??? You only need 10 hrs & you’re ready to go again. You’re taking 13 to 14 hrs . That’s crazy , can’t believe your company is ok w that. How are they making any money w drivers like this. I know you’re not the only one.

@@Commy01 running your full clock actually helps keep you going & running miles. Why not get to the customer hrs early so you can deliver early and have time to pick up another load. Never run out of hours so you can run off recaps & don’t need to restart so often but what do I know I’m just a truck driver 😂

My company runs it like he does. They give us all kinds of time and warn us never to deliver early. Everyone has different schedules. I personally hate doing only 10 hr breaks. Give u no time for nothing. BY the time u shower, eat, sleep u done. U have no leisure time

36:00 Driving in Ohio, especially 90, is a circus. You'll see trucks here in the left lane more than any other state. our right lane is the fast lane more usually than the left. people just sit and camp left and middle lanes. In ohio, you either go 50 or 80 on the highway.
