This game was the best promo FIFA could ever had, EA can now say "hey we may be releasing the same game every year, but look at what the competition is putting out, doesn't look so bad now huh?"
The sad thing is that Efootball (Pes) was actually a great game when it came to the gameplay,but konami have decided to ruin it and merge with mobile players.Making a console and PC port a massive downgrade.
At first I was like "This doesn't look that bad at all for a third party sports game." But then it was revealed that it was a first party game with a big budget. Which makes sense.

It seems that Charlie took the Limitless pill or something cause he just unlocked some compartment in the brain that really gives a new depth to understanding soccer as we know it. Why pass the ball around the field when you can run the whole way through with your defender? On top of that, fouling like mad and getting carded so that there’s less of your own players to worry about, increasing efficiency. It’s brilliant really
it's staggering yet has never crossed my mind, he really is a genius. Now we can just build the game on running with the ball but instead of the goal net we'll have an end zone and have players wear helmets and shoulder pads for when they tackle and stack themselves on top of each other for the ball.

Some context for those who don't know. PES used to be the best game until like 2007 I want to say when FIFA started stepping up a bit. Then FIFA dominated for years, I have played both and FIFA had the better licensing, game modes, wider audience. But for me gameplay is just more fun with PES in the last few games, it's just more enjoyable compared to the static, broken gameplay of FIFA. Alas they couldn't keep up and had to change their vision to this and it just completely failed. Very sad to see, but glad Charlie seemed to somewhat enjoy haha.
@@latinEU I think it was FIFA 09 or FIFA 10 maybe that pulled them ahead which would've been like 2008/09. But like I said I've played the recent PES games and have enjoyed them way more than FIFA, it's not a complete game, but does a better job of making a game that is enjoyable.

The graphics truly aren't bad though, they're very good actually, it's just that the animation is so stiff and soulless and the lighting undersells the look, kind of. You can have the most detailed models, the highest quality 8k textures and an incredibly realistic lighting engine and fuck it all up if you set your light sources wrong. It looks flat and so damn basic with how they've set up their light sources. It's just a single light coming from above with no ambient occlusion, and that's very poor when it comes to videogames (at least without raytracing enabled cause then you get accurate bounced lighting off the ground which softens the shadows at least). Also the lips are weird. It just looks boring as hell, at least something like Fifa makes use of tricks to make itself look good. Edit: Upon closer inspection you can see that the problem's actually the same basic light source lighting up everything from multiple angles. They tried to emulate accurate stadium lighting with all those lights hitting it from different angles but somehow didn't notice that that eliminates any significance the shadows could have when it comes to the forms of models. Developers shouldn't be trying to emulate real life cause that's how you get boring, flat visuals like this. It's just slightly whitewashed, lit from every angle scenes.
Nah that's not the problem. The gameplay is all fine. The sole reason why it's so hated is because they released it with zero game modes. It's useless even for free. All you can do is play friendly matches. If it literally just had Master League & MyClub, the game would have millions of players right now guaranteed
Zidane, Messi and Ronaldo are literally among the most recognizable people on earth. Charlie, a man whose been on the internet for 15+ years would obviously recognize them.
I really dont understand how it's being rated so low outside of mega fans and like he said huge amount of reviews. It just looks like any other sports game, even with the bad animation and plastic characters. Definitely seen worse for more money than free
You don’t understand. It’s not a 3rd party game. It’s a big budget first party game. The reason why it’s rated so low is the huge downgrade from the previous version. Konami ended its PES series and started a new era called e football with new animations and engine. And it’s a flop.
Watching Charlie run the pitch with otamendi was hilarious. Also from someone who watches football, listening to him know some player like zidane was nice.

I've been playing football games for +10 years and almost every single year I play both FIFA and PES (now eFootball) (the biggest football game franchises) and I've never played anything worse than this game. it's terrible it's literally insane how bad it is.
Honest question, is it really? I play every ~2nd FIFA and I thought this doesnt even look too bad... obv I dont know how the gameplay feels like but some of the first touches etc do seem kinda realistic compared to FIFA when watching a video like this :)

Sad thing about this game. I used to love Pes but then it got copyrighted i think and has a trashy name called efootbal; they ruined the graphics and didnt put any effort to improve the game, infact they degraded.

Efootball used to be called PES, I've been playing the mobile version for years and it's good. Before this game it was a decent alternative to FIFA but they dropped the ball hard with this one.
Not hard they like killed the game and made the whole fan base leave nobody is streaming or making videos of it or even playing it really now its just Fifa and Pes games up until pes 15
