I was just focused on my career, achieving and didn't see any prospects.... now I believe... delayed is not denied. My aunt is like this. She's a brain surgeon (neurosurgeon), and she spends all her free time at parties, flirting, drinking, and taking selfies. But she won't ever actually stop to rest. I think it's because of all the terrible things she has to see at work, all the young people she watches die... "Live every day like it's your last" is what she lives by. It sounds pretty on paper... But in reality, she's keeping herself happy by avoiding deep thought and reflection at all costs. She seeks no satisfaction, only instant but fleeting pleasure. She's become pure superficiality. I think it's quite sad. I'm honestly concerned for her patients too, as I have reasons to believe she's become an alcoholic. She would drive me and my cousins around whilst being very drunk. And yet she still performs perfectly at her job, apparently, so I don't know.
Pretty sure she's doing enough deep thinking while saving people's life on moment's notice . That deep thinking is why she probably chose to be a Neurosurgeon. She's doing things that make her happy while contributing to other people's life & to society . Nothing seems superficial here. Also recreation is different for different people .

There are massive issues with the healthcare system..many of us have been harmed and lost loved ones due to allopathic medicine. Social media outlets have censored people speaking out but permit other types of videos. People can have fun and should enjoy their lives. These people are usually very neurotic or else they couldn’t function like this. Doctors referred kids to me in the Early Start program, where I regularly guided parents of kids with disabilities how to deal with doctors total ignorance about caring for kids with disabilities while they neglected the hell out of them. I also identified many kids on the spectrum, wrote reports they used at Stanford and worked with the hardest cases in my area for a fraction of what doctors make, because I actually care about making a difference. The amount of MDs are artificially limited to benefit the MDs. Further the system outright bans cheaper protocols and options. No one needs to abuse themselves for years for medical training. The system is set up this way for a reason.

While its true you can live a pretty lavish life on the kind of money surgeons make, that's only when you aren't working (which isn't often mind you). However, when you are working, the job can royally suck ass (80-100+ hr work weeks that are highly unpredictable, brutal call schedules, high levels of stress, and lack of sleep).

I never said that surgeons all have to "act alike" or "think alike" (you're the one who said that). What I said was that this is not an accurate depiction of what the life of a surgeon is like. There's an epidemic of people going into medicine with an unrealistic and over glamorized view of the lifestyle that comes with it and when reality kicks in that it's no were near as wonderful as it seems, they burnout quickly and leave. I'm all for surgeons having a work life balance. Lord knows they work waaaaay too much, mainly due to a malignant culture of workaholism and not prioritizing their own health (something I commend Dr. Sanchez for emphasizing the importance of), it just needs to be realistic and this video overemphasizes the glamor and underemphasizes the long hours, stress, and sacrifice that make up the bulk of what surgeons deal with the majority of the time

Jesus fucking Christ these comments. Just got out of a second test and had this guy just give me the nastiest look and have genuine anger towards me. Was studying in the hallway during the first test when he comes over saying he wants to help me. Puts his computer on top of mine, goes on a rant with wrong information about DFAs and NFAs. Then the fucker takes my study guide an hour before the test. I was so angry that I focused as hard as I could on the test and ended up getting a 108. Never talked to the guy again, but heard him loudly bragging about getting a 94. Before the second test, which I just took today, he just looked at me with sheer hatred and disgust in his eyes and it scared me. Is this what I’ll have to deal with my whole life? Statistics and Computer science girl here. I know it’s a completely different major but how do you deal with all the animosity day to day? You’re not even doing anything to them and they all hate you. Why? I encounter the same thing. Most surgeons use conferences to mess around. I spent all my spare time with my wife and barely any to spare to play my fav games. Retired now so I help my wife at her work on most days as a volunteer, gets boring sometime but one of the blessed few who dont have to worry about work and spend all the time i want with my family.

People who are this high functioning are very multidimensional. You can't put them in a box. They study harder than you, make way more money than you, party harder than you, AND workout in the gym harder than you. When we study 12 hours a day for months on end, chilling at home with my cat isn't enough of an outlet.

If she had to work the next day, then I wouldn't trust her, no matter how topnotch surgeon she was. If this is her weekends or on vacation, yeah nobody cares. Anyone should live the life they choose. The fact is there are a lot of surgeons have very little sleep and they poison themselves with alcohol then work the next day and their colleagues don't bother to report the incident, which lead to malpractice. It doesn't make sense to me that the doctors in US have the longest years to study but still the third death is Malpractice. Not counting there are unreported cases, too.

What will bring true peacefulness is the forest, being where you belong is the best feeling anyone will even experience, if partying is your thing sure go for it, I though it was mine ti before I realized how dumb I was for drinking and being around those people, so by changing I left all of them and now I live in a beautiful area haven't taken a sip of spirits since 2020 and I've found myself my future wife, I would never have done that through alcohol, it's only used to self destruct

Most Latino families, specially when they comes from parents born and raised in Latin América in a Good family ties. usually raised their children loved and appreciated it!
