This is the WORST Feature in Rec Room (here's why)

I've been wanting a level cap increase, or some kind of unlimited level, or overflow exp for such a long time, maybe after you go past level 50, you can just start getting some tokens everytime you level up, that would be cool.

This video put it into words perfectly I can’t explain how frustrating it is to not be able to show how much I’m devoted to the game because they limit how many levels I can go to. I myself am a game dev and spend ALL of my time in a private instance working. And all of that work for what??? I game developing is by far the hardest thing to do in Rec Room, there should definitely be more of a reward than some popularity and some measly tokens.

I love the level system. Also I rarely see people turning off picture in picture on screen mode. Also they should make it so you get a 5 star box each time you reach level 50 and each time you prestige.

Another thing to add to EVERYTHING you said there, (of which, was all 100% correct and I’ll stand by that) We should be given tiny pop-ups for when we earn XP after completing an RRO or something, just by saying “+10XP” or whatever, and also, if they still wanna keep the level cap for some reason, then they can at least tell us WHEN we reach it via a similar manner.

I agree with literally everything you've said and stated in this video. The star idea is a great idea and so is level 100. Personally, the amount of time I spend playing Dodgeball and not getting XP for the majority of the games is just depressing. I'm going to still play Dodgeball though because it's my favorite RR original.

Holy crap I agree SOOOOOO much. I swear they put about little to no effort into the leveling system. I really hope gribbly or someone at the Rec Room team notices this and tries to make it a ton better than it is now.

Probably for private servers if you were to be AFK farming after a certain amount of time it could kick you out for no activity detected or to just stop giving you EXP until it detects a certain amount of motion similar to the way some of the campaign in Beatsaber requires to either move a certain amount or not move a certain amount and instead take the certain amount of movement idea and if they are just putting a rock onto the w key then if there is no other input being detected after some time then it'll stop giving you EXP or just kick you to your dorm room.

I have an idea for making the system if they give you the ability when you hit level 50 or if they increase it to 500 and every 20-30 levels you can get anything from your wishlist you want but only one each. And the prestige thing isn't a bad idea. And PLEASE give players the option to choose any item they want.

Love the content BVR! I think it’s time for more constructive ideas on the core gameplay of Rec Room these days to keep players more invested into it. That’s something that I too have been deeply reflecting on this past year or so and honestly hope to see some cool changes that could be very beneficial if only looked from a gameplay point of view. -RobTM

I started playing about 4 months ago and am at level 45. When I first stated I was about leveling up but now it just feels like it's not worth my time if level 50 is as far as I'm going to get and the boxes I have seen well def does not make me want to go play RR Originals to get... Don't get me wrong I absolutely LOVE RecRoom and basically live within it's servers but I agree that the leveling system could def use some hefty work. I am now a builder so I do not play games as much but would a little more if there was something more I could gain and continue to gain. For some, once level 50 is reached and they no longer gain exp that is when the game gets hung up and they move onto something that is going to give them more satisfaction... I will continue to play whether they upgrade it or not but....

I just wanna suggest my little "idea" of an updated levelling system rq. There should be no limit to how many levels you can reach but then eventually in several years, some sweat is going to reach the int limit and go negative. So to counter that, they should just have the max level be 1000 or something while earning a 5-star box every 50 levels or so. I believe that they also discussed levels in the live AMA today. Anyways, please don't kill me for having an opinion and have a good day.

I think that a prestige system would be very cool and it would definitely be easier to tell who spends their entire life in recroom and who plays it casually rather than everyone being stuck at level 50 forever.

I also almost lost the dedication in playing rec room cuz my main goal was to get level 50 and now that is finished good thing i found another thing to dedicate in getting which is every quest clothing item

For the prestige idea, I would suggest the reward for reaching different prestige tiers would be a new and unique item ONLY OBTAINABLE from reaching certain prestige tiers, like a unique hat, shirt, glasses, or even a CAPE. Just a thought.

I spent hours and hours playing community rooms and not rec room originals. I just chilled in community rooms and talked to people. It took a solid year to get to level 50.

Honestly they should, this is one of the easiest ways to get me to play Rec Room again is if they used the leveling system better and made it so you can level up as many times as you want to.

can't agree more with this video but rec room has a very small team and most of us are still waiting for key binds for pc users so I guess its safe to say we won't get an update for levels anytime soon

going off on his star idea, i think rec room should add these special stars that you only get by playing rec room for a certain amount of time. for example, you can get like a shiny purple star if you played during 2016 or a a black star if you reached lvl 30 before the new lvl 50. basically like badges that will show up on your name tag when playing games so people will know how long you've been playing, and overall just adding some variety to the leveling system

I hope rec room sees this video. If the level cap was increased to 100 it would be great, also maybe for boxes you get a four star for 9 levels and then a 5 star for the 10th and it repeats, and a prestige system would be great, and all the points are very good

I’ve been saving up cheers and currently I have 11 full pages of them (with page 12 still being a work in progress) so when a prestige system/level 100 releases I’m going to click on them all and gain loads of xp

Some people say there's not enough ink for worlds, So what i think recroom should do is make is so you can get verified and if you are verified you get more ink or something like that i don't play it that much so idk if they already have that

Also I can see the solution to the private room XP issue Builders face being some kind of game-side program. One that looks for significant changes in the room’s design every so often, in order to determine when to add XP, and with to withhold it.

We’ve been talking about more lvls for ages it’s becoming a problem as they will loose people for the dp cap and lack of lvls

The only thing that’s good about having a 50 lv limit is the hype everyone gets finally getting your last box to see what you get

Fun fact when I was grinding for lvl 50 in order to reach the daily cap, the fastest way was to sit in the rec center and swap room every 15 minute and you would reach the cap

Oh the years of 20 then 30, same situation we all continued to voice. It is the same for Rec Royale, like there is no incentive to continue playing it as the season pass doesn't even rank up after complete.

i've been taking a little break until they do something to motivate me to play. i totally agree with things like prestige's and raising the level cap. and also rewarding all players the same amount for doing things they like in Rec Room.

I played Rec Room nearly every day for around 2 hours a day for a whole year and I still didn't max my level.

OK I see exactly where you're coming from and all your points make a lot of sense. I'm not gonna lie a couple of days ago I reached level 50 myself. I had been super excited for this cause there was a competition between me and my cousin. Who had the game a lot longer than I have, a race began to see who could get to the magic level 50. I won thinking that I've achieve something great. But before I achieve my goal the weeks before getting there I tell my Mom and Dad how close I really was and how excited I was about it. My mom and my dad kept bringing at the point what do you do once you reach level 50 what is the goal afterwards. And I didn't quite take their points to heart but now that I'm at level 50 it's not as cool as it used to be. I just see as another number that we just stuck at and there's not much more to do then collect Limited items and hang out with friends. Which I see no problem with that but the feeling of you can see your achievement just stop at one spot is disappointing. For that was the thing that was motivating me to get on so I can win the bet with my cousin and now I got nothing to do. I've reached my goal he's level 32 and I'm sitting at 50 with nothing really to go after anymore. So seeing an update to this would be great I would honestly love the star system that that would make me super happy truthfully. The idea that you could see you achievement keep going even after you get to level 50 would keep the people who want to work to something keep play while the people who don't care can just watch us who love the competition and would work for it continues to thrive as we try to get to what we want. But only time will tell #^-

We should get a prestige option so basically you could get to 50 then reset to level one but it would put a star by your name for each prestige level (getting to 50 again) It would make ur user look cooler and it's a great system in my opinion

I like the more 5 star boxes idea but I think they should save that for after LV 50 like every 25 levels after you get a 5 star box then level 100 gives 2 or 3 of them

Maybe after level 50, leveling up would just give you token boxes. I still like the idea of leveling up boxes since usually I don’t notice until I see my level up box.

YESS! we deserve more 5 star boxes, and level 100 for a lot more of those, and we SHOULD be allowed to choose them like you said, like how when you’re in laser tag, dodge ball, soccer, etc. and you get prize boxes and you get to choose between 3 items, you should get this for level 50 and more, and all the levels so you can actually get what you want (the choices being clothes and tokens, not consumables ofc)

The level should max at 88 as 8 sideways is the infinity symbol. The exponential should switch from 10's to 3`s above level 50

I think that they should have a similar system to what Fortnite has where a room can be verified and give out xp. That way more rooms can have it.

Convert 100 xp to 50 tokens maybe? Or when you hit level 50, your code bar fills up normally but change to like orange once you would’ve leveled up, and then again and so on so that way you know how much you’ve been playing

What if instead of getting XP in a game you made based on the visits, instead it should get the amount of time you have your maker pen open and then it uses the visits to multiply that time and thats your added XP (Makerpen time * (room visits / some number to balance it out) = XP)

I agree with about the leveling being a problem I go into the game and got to the level cap which is 150 XP and I couldn't even level up it takes so long

i know i havent played for super long but i have played rec room for almost 3 years now and its always bothered me how i cant get my level any higher

I would grind so much if all this stuff came to the game. I have been so bored in rec room so I think we all need this

for the private room thing they can just use a limit of how much xp you get for being in the private room and if the limit is reached no matter what you do for the rest of the 24 hours you get no more xp so its balanced in a way

I think the worst part about the leveling system is that people that are starting to play rec room see the leveling system as the main goal and grind it so much and then when they hit level 50 they gradually start playing Rec room less and less

To begin with the cap was actually 20, but in around mid 2017 (I think) they made the cap 30 instead

They should’ve acknowledged this (the leveling system) in the Gribbly AMA.

There should be up to 99 levels, but it should take at least a few years make it that far. Also, there could be a 5* every 5 levels after level 50 while every other box is 4*, up until around level 95 where it would take months just for a single level. Then, every level could award a 5*, and level 99 could reward 10,000 tokens along with your normal 5* box.

I got a idea when you reach lvl cap you gain tokens with a random amount 100 and up

Another thing I hate that I’m shocked no one really talks about is graphic settings (mainly for pc) because I really like the shadows but I would actually prefer to have grass/foliage turned off bc it increases lag and isn’t that important imo buuuuuuuut I can’t. We have 3 graphic settings (excluding the one that quest is locked on and mobile graphic settings) and it’s bad but runs at an acceptable frame rate high but runs fairly well with a few drops and high but shadows have 3 more pixels that runs pretty badly (my pc kinda sucks depends on your specs) I want real graphics options like resolution scaling, shadows, textures, antialiasing, bloom, post processing, ect that you can set to what you want rec room to look like because right now the graphics settings are awful at best

Private servers should be like, if there is 1 player then you get no XP at all, but if there is 2 people then you will get XP because you won’t just sit there, you would be talking to your friend.

i agree with this and the only thing thats wrong with it would be coaches level as she has lvl 99 this wouldnt be a broblem with the reseting thing but i do think it should reset at lvl 50 insted however if it just went past 100 this would pose a small problem

Hi I recently joined the level 50s I have wins in all the quests except for the one that starts a burned town because Im a quest 2 and because of the meta ban there's only people who speak and others who turned their mic off

If they did add something like a prestige system, it would be nice if the system set for it could already recognize how active and how old player made accounts are. Like for instance my account is over 2 years old with 3,500+ hours of game play beat into it, I'd be sad to see that I'd have to gain some special star when my account would probably already have at least one or two. Accounts older than mine with more time spent it the game could probably say the same thing, cause without the system recognizing the amount of work put into an account, no one would know how truly special an account could be if everyone gets set at the same spot when such an update gets made.

They should add rebirth System And first rebirth its say redo:1 And gives a box star level 1 and more rebirth levels = 1 level higher but if it hits 5 then every rebirth give you a 5 start box

They should add like prestige levels or just more levels in general
