Always takes a bit to find the true best. This is just a gimmick no true skill wave if this person in the video is anything to go by, spamming it without any care for the full mechanic of Transient Moonlight.

Moonveil spammers are only a threat in ganks. Once you get them alone, they're basically a free kill. They most likely played the entire game spamming the the AOW, so when that doesn't work they don't pose any threat to you.
totally agree, i love the moonveil but hate how meta and boring it has become. Get creative and switch things up to make it fun for you and the host/invader.
not spam, that's called a punish he waited for him to spend his fp. first tbolt was either a guess that he was out or intentional damage trade. killing one was punishing his retreat. he was likely going to either red or blue potion so the tbolt denied it and killed him.

right now all is moonveil and sword of night and flame because of how broken they are on PvE, it's almost boring to use them because of how cheesy and how much they don't "trivialize" the game but completely ruin the first playthrough.
I must confess I am using a Moonveil, but for good reason! I'm cosplaying Vergil from DMC and I need 3 katanas to somewhat emulate his skills. However, I still feel dirty.
There's nothing wrong with using it but personally I don't see the point in it when it comes to 1v1 duels since it will either one shot or come close to one shotting your opponent. It's just boring.

My favorite move is walking into an invasion with my dual wield moonveils and then stomping them with the l1s and only using l2 to roll catch. For some reason nobody expects that and they have huge damage.
Aw man, people hate the Moonveil? I just got the thing and it seems like such a cool weapon, had no idea that it's the scrub build. I just wanted a cool magic weapon.
It's only a scrub weapon if you use it in pvp gank squads, the ability itself is really not that hard to dodge in a 1v1. Also don't let the pvp meta community prevent you from making whatever build you enjoy the most

@@nopnop9077 IMHO I think it's better to let them build however they want for PVE. Sure Some weapons are strong, but Fromsoft developed this game with players' freedom in mind. In PVP it can be annoying, but I see no harm in letting these guys play however they want against bosses or whatnot. Regardless of how "easy" it makes the fight.

Thankfully I haven't seen to many of those yet. That said, I have low expectations of my own ability since I've just been 2 handing my Pike since I got it. It's my trusty stick and it's served me well in PvE
Good ol' trusty sharp long stick. I've been doing similar with the basic halberd ever since 1 handing with sword in off hand became no good once I got to 30 str. Love how the halberd got a lot of stagger damage.
As someone who use moonveil that man don't really know how to use that sword and he deserves that disrespect. Moonveil should be use when your close to the enemy and having no defence for yourself and then you want to either stun lock or break his poise making your enemy reconsider about being aggressive
Funny enough there is an anti-faith intelligence spell, Law of Regression, anyone who uses bleed, rot, buffs, deathblight aura, etc is screwed as soon as I use it because I massively debuff them then use rannis dark moon andthe staff of knowledge to give them a -60 magic damage reduction, even if the moon doesnt hit it still gives the debuff
No its not, they are literally equal. This guy just sat there and tanked lightning bolts for no reason. Anybody who fought leyndell knights in the capital should understand how to dodge that weapon art. Theres nothing unique to faith builds that specifically counters sorcery not even the shield that reflects back magic.
Oh yeah for sure man I got invaded by a guy who is built like a tank with that shield and I died within two shots but then again I wasn’t the high of level anyway but still
I use moonveil but tbh I don't use its art of War as much as I should. That's probably why I'm absolute dogshit. I could only kill radahn after using the rot breath

@@smells109 He was summoned as an “adversary” which meant a duel. This is where you fight fair and with honor. Invasions are the complete opposite. Kill by any means possible.
All you need is barrier of gold. Me and my buddy do prawn shack pvp and we basically suffer Normandy bay and we lost only like 7 times out of almost 100 fights . 30 more or less of them used moon veil and sorcery and barrier of gold gave me the ability to face tank everything and if it's people who use physical based weapons then use a boiled crab. I use cipher pata with pure faith, so I get to have 50 vigor, 20 endurance, 25 mind atm, and 50 faith
Yea i dropped moonveil after hearing the sass it got from a lot of people and i didnt wanna seem like i needed it so i made that triple flail with cold damage and beat the game with that and i love it
@Buddha Fett Magic in this game is absurd, but I’ve seen pure strength builds completely decimate bosses just as fast, if not faster in Mr. Strongest Man in the World’s case.

While I find the katanas to be great fun in this game, they're kind of a buzzkill. How do you enjoy the game whether that be pvp or pve when you can just melt enemies from afar with weapon arts, or with status effects? The series is amazing, but I never understood why people feel like they have to be the strongest they can, as if the game wasn't created with the idea of difficulty in mind. With so much shit in this game it makes me sad seeing all of 3 kinds of builds lol, anyway, love the content tho! keep it up

Honestly moonveil is kinda shit so easy to dodge or parry back with erdree shield the worst part of pvp in this game is the bleed katana builds that go through block and roll lol it's so dumb 2 hits and u get bled for half ur health bar
Ye but that means that bleed can be nullified if you time your rolls right. Stop crying about it and learn to counter, or else from will nerf everything to the ground like they did with their past installments and all you're gonna see in pvp will be the same 2-3 broken boring builds.
@@QuestionmarkTimes2 My guy when you use dual nagikanas or whatever they are called with seppuku where u have insane range for catching rolls insane attack speed and a full bleed build up in a slash of both weapons sure thats balanced my bad bro while we are using a great hammer that has no range slowest hits in the game and can only 2 shot squishy ass people with low poise yh
Imma admit I do spam it but only as a medium range attack when some enemies are far, I wanna hit more than one, or I don’t want to be too close. Only tried playing PVP a few times with the moonviel and I’m happy I ain’t like this fool lol.

As a katana main, seeing that guy waste such a good counter move on spam was disgusting. Moonveil is intimidating only when you pull it out reactively in my experience, otherwise the audio cue makes it super easy to just dodge. (I personally think Rivers of Blood is more fun, but it's more offensive than defensive, plus the damage is eeeh.) What I do is start out RoB, then hot swap to Moonveil when they don't expect it, then back to RoB again, and so on. Also just stancing with it and playing chicken with people is fun as hell. This my first dive into the PvP side of Souls games and I gotta say, some cool people all around. (Gankers can rot in a pit tho)
Every time I invade a moon veil user I just think to myself "Free Rune Arc!". In general they aren't great at combat and rely on their weapon art, not realizing I'm not a mob and can actually dodge
That’s exactly what I do to moonveil or ice stomp spammers, if all your going to do is spam the Ash of war I’ll do the same from a safe distance and get an easy win.
As someone who found the moonveil naturally and was building a battle mage, this weapon just wasn't fun, i already have ranged spells, but now i have an OP katana with range? Talk about easy mode.
Was cooping with a buddy the other day with tongue active. Constant stream of these guys. I died to the first one, and then proceded to trounce the rest after I knew what to expect with my shitty wretched halberd "build"
What you don't want to do with Moonveil...be on the offensive and spam...doesn't work since players can roll to avoid it if they aren't do any actions...And yes, I use Moonveil as secondary and have played against other players who spam with it which ends up with me winning...
I invaded someone yesterday that was using the tree sentinel shield / self inflicted fire damage shit to spam at me while his friend would chase me with hoarfrost stomp. Thought I was going to have a stress induced stroke
there is worse. WAY worse if your opponent is willing to have a TRUELY unfair fight through a glitch. Lets just say than a certain incantation mixed with a weapon art buff can cause an aura of the Death status effect, killing players after a few seconds of just STANDING near the guy.
