@@headbussa0065 I love hbcu band like the next person. Been a band head for a solid 18 years now, been in the Army for 10 years. Served in 25 ID, deployed to Iraq and Syria. There’s no way you really compared a military unit to a marching band. Now anyone with common sense and patience would think to go around this collective of people but common sense ain’t so common nowadays. Yeah they’re both units by definition but one gets way more respect for the nature of what they do than the other. But again you probably don’t mean it the way I read it in my head. Nothing but love
He was right that group were Krewe members ..the organization that's parading ..it's the start of the parade and as tradition those float riders ..were getting drunk and had to hurry to get on their float ..after the parade escort realizes they were Krewe members the organization that invited the band to march in their parade ..handshakes and smiles and thank yous all around ..that's how Old School New Orleans used to be when I was a beat cop..get drunk for me amigos and paisanos..and let the good times roll 🍷🥃🥂🍻🍹🍸😎🚬
The bands are my favorite part of Mardi Gras parades. If someone tries to cross through the band, spectators will correct them, and pull them back, if necessary. That’s one of the reasons why there are so many chaperones marching along the side of the bands - to stop people from crossing.
Why are people so inconsiderate, disrespectful and rude, notice is always given about parades yet people don't plan ahead and act like they are the ones in the right.
The band escort did the right thing ..he was letting the social club marchers get up to their spot ..smiles and handshakes .. tradition ..that's New Orleans ..old school
Yes. All the way through my high school band years and drum corps, for some reason people thought they could just walk through a formation just because we aren't moving. I loved it when they get shut down. YOU CAN'T JUST WALK WEAREVER YOU WANT WHENEVER YOU WANT!
They should be glad the band was standing still, we had someone try to run through our ranks and he got hit with damn near every instrument and elbow in his reach - and that was BEFORE we stopped to handle him
@3:32 CAUGHT MY 1ST BODY AT THE COTTONBOWL '93 TX STATE FAIR PV VS GSU PRE GAME. I WAS MARCHING IN WOSSMAN HS MARCHING BAND AS A SOPHMORE COMING INTO THE STADIUM. A WHOLE FAMILY CHOSE MY RANK TO TRY & COME THRU. TENOR 🎷 STRAIGHT TO THEY HEAD. NEVER WALK THROUGH A HBCU/BLACK BAND. THEY LEARNED THAT DAY.😏☝🏾⚖️💯🎶🎵
When I was marching in my high school band as a freshman Neville High School in Monroe Louisiana we were marching out then hit a funk train then 4 whyte guys thought it was okay to walk through our rank. Those bass drums didn't miss neither one of them plus we was rocking them 32"s. Never walk through a black Marching band high school or college.
Never attempt to walk through any band in my eyes. I don't care if it's a middle school band, don't walk through no band in my eyes. Just out of respect cause they putting they all into entertaining everybody else so don't try to start problems.
l ran onto a Rugby pitch during a match at school while looking the other way straight into a player who was about to score and got sent flying !! Needless to say l wasn't very popular that day !! And l had a very sore foot and a bruised jaw !! The only saving grace was l stopped the opposition team from scoring and not my own !!
*_PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:_* That might’ve seemed abit over-the-top, but rest assured - this was handling that situation the “nice” way. #ItGetsWorse #MUCHworse
This is why we have secret HOOD security with us Just in case any of those reptilians and or translucent demons Try anything they could be found and gotten.
This use to piss me off in HS band you had all before the parade started to choose what side you want to stand but you wanna walk through our performance. Wait till theirs a break in the chain to walk
I’m a musician and love drum lines, but what made both of these bands stand out is that every instrument section kicked ass! A lot of bands just rely on trumpets and drums. These bands were so much more than that.
That actually used to be a normal thing for Hbcu snare lines in Alabama. Both AAMU and ASU snare line reached 16-20 plus in the mid 2000s. I remember AAMU having more snares than we had band members in total at my middle school when I would see them at parade line ups 😂
This is Beautiful Elegance and so far above any forms of negative thought attempting belittle it or take away this show of excellence. These young people are devoted to a higher call of discipline and work that speaks volumes.
These marching bands are awesome! My step daughter alto sax, and step son trombone both were in their high school military style marching band I never failed to tell them how proud I was of them both! the discipline it took with the formations they incorporated left me and their mother in awe! Now they're successful adults with families of their own.❤🎉😅
@@KingofgraceSARA LMFAO I'ma be 39 swinging fkn mallets to a 30in dot head or clear head bass drum studying some easy stuff in college shidd military history 🤣🤣🤣
I hate seeing these comments! You know why? Because I’m tired of our ppl bragging about how good we are at ENTERTAINING white ppl!! Glorified court Jesters!
I don't see how the incident happened. There's a huge jump cut. Was it during a stop performance or during a March performance? Was it one person or a large group? Were they trying to cross or intentionally trying to be an asshole? Lots of questions because the only part I see seems take place on the sidewalk maybe the aftermath I assume. I need context.
The kids in these bands were PHENOMENAL! I was in band as a kid and I would have gladly had any of these band's backs and yelled at people doing that. Very disciplined and dedicated kids. Ignore the idiots and be proud of yourselves. You all deserve it!
I love the marching bands, the structure, discipline, and coordination is amazing. You do not break any bands ranks. I saw one kid do our many moons ago. He did not do it twice. It's amazing how much damage you can do and not miss a beat. Drum corps was also a blast. Small and we marched like on the field, like a snake. Or all those trying to elude to racially driven reasons for the breaking of ranks, it's more like stupidity, it comes in all races, and should be recognized as such.
I marched in the McKinley High school band and Southern University Marching band and you did not walk in the middle of the band. If you did you got dealt with!!!!
