The only time we don't refund the £100 is if the customer doesn't show. Reservation is for a maximum of 72 hours. So far 97% of customers have purchased after seeing the car 😊

I used to work for a Smart dealer, we left about 5 of these roadsters in the compound for a few months after delivery. One day someone went to move one of them and when he opened the door water ran out over the sill. The floor pans were full of water in all of them. They went straight to auction, brand new, never registered.

C1 for raffle, and check if your local radio has a kids charity for Christmas. Ours is "Cash for Kids" it helps local disadvantaged kids. Gives them something to open at Christmas etc.....plus you'll might get mentioned on air.😉

No such thing as a non refundable deposit if taken over the phone or internet, distance selling act prevents it.

Go with whoever is in front of you, willing to buy with cash in their hand, anything else it’s tough shit if it sells.

Unless it's for yourself don't buy anything sporty, very difficult sale, totally stick to bread and butter stuff, particularly these days, I had loads of trouble with a st170, they basically couldn't afford the insurance, I refused to take it back and they took me to court to regect it...

Not daft perping the cars to a higher level than others as customers will return and recommend you to family, friends and workmates.

I used always take an £100 non refundable deposit and this was back in the early 90s. When my last foray into the motor trade in 2009 I did exactly the same. I had some who would complain it wasn’t fair but it weeded out the real from the not committed.

Well done on all the fundraising. It's a fantastic total! My suggestion for the next charity to support is the Teenage Cancer Trust. They helped my brother with his cancer treatment. They provide specialist support for young people that the NHS can't do. An unbelievable charity that I try to fundraise for whenever I can. I would definitely buy a ticket for the twingo too :)

If they want to see your car next week It means they have penciled in another 3 or 4 viewings elsewhere and your car is bottom of the list.

Contact your local Children's Services department. Children in care always have a rough time at Christmas. The Clubman would be my choice for a raffle.

Have a look at the inside of the rear pillars on the Nissan Note to see if there's any stains where the water runs down from the rear lights and reflectors also check the rear footwells for water as the rain gets in through the rear doors, it's happened to every person I know who owns one.

The SMART Roadster is like any car - they thrive on being used. I have had cars that I used every day then go away for a fortnight and then there are problems stemming from being sat. I'd rather have a 100k car with a full service history and daily use than a very low miler with no service history that throws a light every day you could do without it. Case in point is the Matiz I bought 3 years ago @ 1 family owned 12k miles. My wife drives it now and all the issues are a result of being ignored. Cracked tyres? Age and not checked. Sticking brake calipers? Just a result of being ignored and so on. She loves it to bits and its her second where she did 80k miles in 10 years in the first one but its still a labour of love.

As far as I am concerned the first person to cross your palm gets the vehicle. That's it. It can be a deposit or the full price but the first person to turn up with the money is the person who gets it. You can't hold vehicles in case people do turn up because they frequently don't. I've certainly "lost" vehicles I was really interested in because I've turned up and it's sold by then, but that's just the breaks. Happens sometimes.

I've got a 19 plate c3 that I can't get rid of either, autotrader say 7k I've had it up a 5 and a half, no interest, just sold a 59 plate c1 tho and phone was off the hook, so it's not c1s, just the price.

Keep an eye on the thermostat housing on th 27 as well, they split. Common Issue. Also brake servos on those go, 588 quid from main desler - two types - eelctronic and non electronic. Guess which one mine had, LOL.

I should charge dealers a deposit when they call to view my car as a private seller. Had soo many dealers call and say they are coming and they never do. Waste of time.

Hi James, with regard your polishing and as you have experience in polishing maybe look at buying a Rotary as opposed to a DA this will speed work up hugely, on average they are 2/3 times quicker if time is of the essence. Keep up your stellar work you do bud and well done you with regards your charity work you are clearly a dying breed in this day and age when you consider 99.9% of RU-vidrs are all about themselves.

Transit is euro 6 bud, ideal for ulez, makes it very valuable, don't know what you got but looks like you've undersold it, I've found euro 6 diesels are very sought after, offer transporter delivery to London. Had a 16 plate diesel mg6 loads of interest from London, sent it on a transporter for 250 quid, guy was well pleased.

You might have some pain on bud trying to avoid those wheels catching without going the full sebring arches, personally I'd junk the plastic arches, fill the holes and blow that area in and go for some slightly wider mini lites, maybe say 185 tyres, tbh it was designed for skinny cross plys, I bet it'll be all over the place on massive wheels.

The Jag the inlet manifold can you get them in metal cast ones? Wouldn't be to difficult get it 3D printed in metal or carbon fibre. The Suzuki flaky roof use some white spirit, get some old towels Soaking on the roof for about an hour might want to heat it up with a hair dryer or paint stripper

The jag inlet manifolds should always be done in pairs they are a weak point. Labour to do both is negligible against doing the job twice.

If your selling, private or not, first come first served, no holds, first with the cash gets it. Never had an issue with that, ever.
