Why? I think its fine, it's just an airport. The best feature of the airport is its connection to RTA. I'd rather have better roads, lower taxes, more jobs, lower crime, better schools. The airport, stadiums, and downtown are all fine. The rest of Cleveland needs improvement. Also if Cleveland wants more flights, they need to grow the city and surrounding area. More people = more flights. Fewer people = fewer flights. Cleveland needs to reverse its population trend to grow its airport. I also think they should shut down the lakefront airport and develop that land.
99% of air travelers are Clevelanders. Well, maybe we should ask how that compares to other cities and why? The answer is pretty obvious the business traveler no longer comes to Cleveland. Conventions are down. Manufacturing is down. Zoom meetings are up. Clearly this was one of those paid infomercials by the airport/commission made to look like the news because the heart of this issue (if they really wanted to seek) would involve the Cleveland area chamber of commerce. What are plans to bring in new businesses? More conventions? Then of course what about the Cleveland Tourist Bureau? Don't laugh. Cleveland has the rock HOF, museums, pro sports teams yet I see more commercials promoting Michigan here in the Midwest then I've ever seen for Cleveland.
