@@clachapelle i live near mcdonalds, Burger King, and 5 guys……and trust me…..i have not been in Burger King in over 15 years……i have been to mcdonalds about 3 times in the last 10 years……i go to 5 guys at least 3-4 times per month……it consistently tastes great …..never had a bad experience…so far…. You get what you pay for…. Taking care of their employees is a plus….and i will support them…….i think I’ll get one right now!
Me and my friend used to go to Five Guys like once a week like 10 years ago. I remember a burger, fires and drink used to cost like $8. Now that same combo cost over $18. Nah, I'm good lol.
The food is good quality, but the $20 price for 1 burger, 1 drink and 1 small fry is ridiculous. I was okay with it when it used to be $12, but $20 isn't nearly worth it. Maybe it's just my area, although the competitors are thriving with much lower prices and great quality
@@bubble4448 Competitors are still keeping their prices well below $20 for the same meals, even when our shipments increase their prices for us. Good businesses know how to keep prices competitive while adjusting for inflation. In the end, $20 for a burger meal isn't going to last. I can't say which competitor I woke for, though realistically speaking no one's gonna go for a $20 meal when they can get it for $11.
Literally payed 18 bucks for a double cheeseburger and small fries……..no drink……….. never again. Scam artists. Now we know why shaq is making so much money owning five guys restaurants
Ask your law makers. They make the policies, businesses do what they have to do to stay i. Business just as you’d be faced to do if you owned a business.
They want $10.50 for a double hamburger when other fresh burger places like Culver's charges only $6 for a double cheeseburger. Their menu prices are simply too high compared to everyone else. Five Guys is too greedy on their profit margins and this will cause them to lose business.
The high price aside, the burgers are just thrown together so there falling apart when you open it up and it's impossible not to make a mess wile you're eating it.
5 Guys is expensive for one reason only. They have 10 employees in that tiny kitchen to man 1 flat top and 1 fryer. Prep is done before open and there are minimal dishes (trays don't count). Don't get me wrong, I'm all for having extra help on hand but to expect the customers to eat that cost is reprehensible.
I think charging more to pay more people isn't really 'reprehensible'. Really if anyone is reprehensible its McDonald's who started using ordering screens so they could fire staff. So burgers cost 2% less made corporate 3% more and thousands are out of work. Doesn't sound good to me.
@@markr2616 When's the last time you were inside a McDonald's? There are always multiple people standing around the front counter., including a manager and cashier. Having an order screen and/or app like most fast food places do now, doesn't mean they're firing hard working people who want jobs. In fact, they're paying their employees more than ever.
@@augmentdj5451 Well don't take my word for it. See for yourself. Research McDonald's self service kiosks. You will see they were introduced nationwide in 2016 because workers were asking for higher wages.
@RickReviews That is the TRUTH . They're so synthetic it's ridiculous. The cheese won't melt. I've seen a test done and the cheese will soften and droop, but it will not drip .
This is the real truth they are overselling what a burger actually cost you can go to the market and buy your own patties your own veggies for the same price you pay for one burger you can make five burgers
Just today in houston, texas insolent $20.59 on 1 cheese burger, medium 16 oz drink, and 1 small fries. $3 for a 16 oz drink and $5 for small fries. I could get 2 large combo meals at whataburger for same price. Wtf Five Guys??
In-N-Out Burger only uses the freshest ingredients, hand cut fries and they have NO freezers as well, but are much less expensive than Five Guys ! I like FG’s, don’t get me wrong, I just visit INO more often due to the cost. 😎🍔
I bought a CampChef 3burner stove that came with a 1 burner griddle. Roasted mini potatoes, my own burgers with as many toppings as I want. Smashburgers are delicious. I am not sure where I can go out to eat that I couldn’t make just as tasty at home.
in melbourne australia, i pay $6 for (a bacon double cheese + a chicken burger + a small fries + a small drink) in Mcdonalds, a FIVE GUYS double cheese burger only is $20. You do the math - the burger itself is even more expensive than a piece of angus rib-eye
double cheeseburger before the pandemic was 11 dollars after tax here in CA, beyond ridiculous. Thats no fries, no drink. Good luck taking your family of four out without spending literally 70 dollars.
Five Guys are definitely not worth the hype or the extreme price. I'd rather go to Carl's Jr. and get a Double Western Bacon Burger if I'm going to pay $10 for a Cheeseburger. In-N-Out sell fresh never frozen ingredients and fresh cut fries yet somehow manage to keep the price affordable.
It's one of my favorites, but that was partially because of the prices they used to have for the quality. I can't afford twice the amount for something when wages haven't doubled.
Same here. Greasy, limp fries, getting a ton of them means nothing, when they suck. Loud, way overcrowded, with the crew constantly shouting and screaming at each other, it was like eating in a mosh pit. Granted, it was within the first month of its opening, but I'm not about to go back, to see if it improved.
@@jeffsmith-ze6wb, I just had such a bullshit experience there. And now I hear that this location is gone, in downtown Boston, where they should have known that they would never make enough, to pay the rent.
I'd like to try them. I don't think there's one here in San Diego- yet. Considering what the usual chains, like Jack in the Box, Carl's Jr, Burger King and such cost now, Five Guys can't be that bad on cost. And, from what I've heard, their only direct competitor quality-wise is In-n-Out.
@@stustuart7323 You're right, I could look it up. Hillcrest isn't terribly far from me (dividing line of San Diego/ Lemon Grove). I used to go to the Corvette Diner on occasion, so....
I guess this is probably one of the two burger places i go to in miami……..the first time i tried it was when i was at LGA airport……the burgers are consistent! I go there because its close to me…..i also like burger fi ….. i go to 5 guys probably 80% of the time…and now that i see the ingredients and that they take care of their employees… i love that!! Thank you 5 guys!!! I always knew you were special!!
I always order the single-patty "Little Hamburger"; I don't need the extra calories of the second patty. And I don't mind paying their prices; they're worth it.
It's not no reason other than greed and price gouging that five guys is so expensive I would never go there ever they have the same burger meat the same buns the same lettuce the same tomatoes as In-N-Out Burger five should be canceled
Yeah so why is it so expensive now?? I still dont understand how a regular cheese burger, small fry and regular drink can cost over $20. You'll need a different excuse
They claim because "We use Premium Ingredients", i call bullshit Peanut Oil isn't premium, organic Avocado Oil or Olive Oil is, and they should use organic hormone free burgers too if they insist on charging those prices.
My five guys i work at in illinois is consistent. Our district manager is ALWAYS around and does not mess around when it comes to attendance. 3 strikes and your fired, hes a perfectionist and it actually made our crew really reliable. My point is a good crew is dedicated to the brand and corporate five guys tend to be better than franchise ran five guys.
I took a group of folks out today shopping. Afterwards we decided to go to five guys for lunch. After walking in and looking at the menu prices we decided to walk out and go to the sub shop next door. I admit it's been a long time since I've been to one of their restaurants but 12.00 for a cheeseburger only is crazy. I mean come on. It's just a hamburger. It's not rocket science or gourmet food. Totally ridiculous. I can go to my local grocer and get fresh extra lean ground beef, brioche buns, fresh toppings and make homemade potato wedges and feed a family of 5 for allot less than I would pay for two meals there
I guess I’m different because that’s exactly what I expect to be paying for when I go to eat. Kudos to them for actually charging people fo getting something.
I always order a small burger. Because the regular burger is too much for me. As for the fries. If I order a small fries with my burger, I struggle to finish it. Excellent quality, the best in the business.
I tried “Five Guys” once…….. Once !!!! Never again !!! Dry and tasteless - the next day I went to In-N-Out and have been a loyal customer with the “In-N-Out Urge” ever since !!!
I love the hot dogs and Cajun fries but it’s a rip off they need to give you a ton more to make it worth the price! Hot dog is average sized and 10 bucks!
Who the hell cares about food waste. The consumer bought it so eat it if you don't want it to go to waste. I never cried because a lettuce head lost its life and was thrown out due to being old.
I stopped by 5 guys and burger, fries, drink was over $20.. ridiculous. I went to In-N-Out instead, same quality in my opinion, double-double, fries and shake was $11
I really don't get the hype around Five Guys. In the UK you can get a Burger just as fresh and chips are expected to be fresh and cheap so hearing an American fast food place charging restaurant prices for something that we can get already get that is fresher is just puzzling to us
Expensive but good. Love their fries. Like many other fast food restaurants, they encourage tipping. I would like to know why tip and how much? It's not like a sit down, where they bring the food to the table and pick up after you. That should be taken into account. It's funny that other fast food chains don't have tipping while others do.
Went there yesterday, Little Bacon Cheese Burger with all the way toppings, regular fries and drink. Came out to $24 which I think is pretty high. The burger is ok, love the fries which I feel they are very generous with. I notice I fill up quickly too and I had to force most of it down. I go there rarely though and I was just not in the mood to cook on a Saturday evening.
So where do you live? I would like to check that number based on your area/zip code. A "little Burger is only 7.09. I juat MAXED OUT ALL POSSIBLE TOPPINGS. $12.69 befoe tax. Nice try, liar...
Five guys used to be reasonably priced a decade ago. Just slightly more expensive than In n out and others. And I’m pretty sure they had the same standards back then too. So i’m not buying the quality and freshness of ingredients excuse to up their prices. They just got greedy. Last year alone I had five guys in Miami, Vienna, and Dubai. It’s overpriced everywhere!
"Premium Ingredients" hey, use Avocado oil or Olive oil instead of Peanut oil that shit's cheap and hurts my stomach. And if you want to sell a "Premium Burger" get rid of Shweid and sons and get some organic burgers that are hormone free, then the price is justified.
In reality we are only paying an extra $3-$6 compared to the same burger from other fast food locations like McDonald's. For those $3-$6 you get your burger cooked right in front of you, never frozen meat and made to order burgers so no meat warmer meaning the meat stops cooking which leave the inside of the patty juicy and pink.
@@sparda9060 not even close first of all its way more meat maybe 2 or 3 times more. Plus I enjoy watching my food be made fresh. Burger King will have your burger under a heat lamp for an hour or have the cooked patty in a warmer so they can build the burger faster.
I’d rather spend $20 at 5 Guys getting a better quality of food and ingredients than the $20 you pay at the places that don’t put quality or ingredients first.
Generous portions my *ss. THey actually give less fries than theyre supposed to and the container is made small on purpose. Fresh ingredients is debatable and varies by location - also, you'd be dumb to not to already default it into consideration, and honestly the rest seems to be the obvious. absolute clickbait imo, dont waste ur time
That little cup is smaller than the small size paper pouch that McDonalds put their fries in lol five guy is a joke. I wasted $20.59 for a double cheese burger that tasted homemade from frozen patties at grocery store that's drenched in grease with smashed up soggy buns and soft fries. Oh and a small drink that costs $3.
It’s fast food, not a real sit down restaurant - that would be the only regular time I’d spend like $20 on a burger meal… when I tell you my jaw DROPPED the last time I visited, I swear - and I wanted the LITTLE burger, still like $18 if I wanted a COMBO. Highway robbery
But I don’t agree with it, I don’t think it’s worth the value. Especially if you’re only going to have a few options and call it “a little” wouldn’t be worth $20. You pay that much when you want to be waited on and have a dine-in experience. I worked at an uppity restaurant (serving wagyu and fois gras, etc) with its own butchery, our smash burgers were $5 on Wednesday (blends of high quality meat from high quality sources), that’s what the competition is. I think it’s a waste of time going to Five Guys, but they rope you in with the fast food façade
@@merpderpyerp well no 5!guy never called itself fast food and anyone with a brain knows that fastfood and fresh made food are completely different things. 5 guys is way to expensive but if my only choices are Burger King McDonald’s and 5 guys 5 wins. And saying your draw dropped? Being a little dramatic are we
Add the fries and drink, it gets up to $20 is my point. Not competitive when the average person isn’t walking in for just a burger. You’re entitled to your opinion, and that major corporation doesn’t lose sleep over one comment that I make… - I still disagree about the value and personally discourage taking your (general you, not you specifically) business there. I’m over it
I went to 5 guys once about 14 years ago with two friends. We all left will the same opinion. The burgers were dripping with grease, the fries were soft, not crisp and it was overpriced even then. None of us have ever been back in a 5 guys since. Whataburger, Culver's makes a better burger than 5 guys.
It's A damn burger, it doesn't matter how fresh it is, it's still not a healthy food option. Just eat the burgers you love, 5 Guys is nothing special. Like all Burger chains it's still mass produced and fried. They don't even grill the burgers so the fat and cholesterol is still there.
you geta lot of fries and free peanuts. But the burgers are super expensive and small (unless you pay way too much!). In N Out burgers are super small but they are way cheap. you can get many burgers at In N Out for one burger at 5 Guys. Every time I have gone to 5 Guys the burger has been over fried. Not horrible but not very good. Couple that with paying way too much and there is no reason to go there. But some are willing to pay way too much so they stay in business.
