In this video we go into full detail showing why we purchased this 2024 VW GTI 380 Edition and we'll show you why you should get one too! #VolkswagenGTI #VWGTI380 #Racecarfriends
Just got in moonstone. So dope. First gti I got with rims I love lol. The 380 is gonna be something everyone wishes they bought in about 5 years. I’m keeping mine forever
Your audience is probably 99% males between 18 and 50 years old that are car enthusiasts...and you ask if we want to see more of pretty girls that like cars.....DUHHH BRO!! Hahaha. For real tho, this is my first time coming across one of your videos and im so happy I did!!! Subscribed!
@@RaceCarFriends same to you! The first thing I check is whether it’s a DSG or Manual. Nothing against the DSG, they rip, I just enjoy the hell out of shifting my own gears lol
Your GTI is sooo awesome. I agree better than a type R or a wrx. Love those cars too tho! I have a mk6 gti and its a stick and it is such a blast! I hope to upgrade to a new manual GTI or manual Golf R soon. The DSG is faster but there is NOTHING better that blasting down a back road in a manual! Before we know it, we wont be able to get new cars in a manual and we gota take advantage while we can! Lol. Also, you may know this but the saying goes "100lbs is a tenth in the 1/4 mile." A full tank of gas is close to 100lbs just by itself. And the spare in the trunk is prob 30lbs or so. So when you do timed runs its best to do it with low fuel and take out the spare or any other weight thats easily removed. Looking forward to seeing the journey!
I bought mine today as a daily driver. I got the S because it has buttons. Manual. Pearl black. My weekend car is a black Cayman 718. Manual too. I’m in New England so I also got winter tires.
I was a little sad to see the VB go, but I’m excited to see what you can do with the GTI. I had an 07 GTI and was the first car I’ve modded. These cars get woken up real quick with even just an ECU flash. My 07 GTI was stage 2 APR tuned. Not sure about the new platform nowadays, but I’d say the only thing to watch out for is the oil consumption..at least when you’re tuned. But yeah I feel like the GTI is one of the most underrated FWD cars you can get given the buzz around the Type R/S. Anyways, congrats on the car!
Thanks a lot I appreciate it, whats your main goal car wise? Like are you looking for a solid daily that can do everything well? If so I say go VB WRX, if you're looking to do any type of modding to win drag races also go WRX but be prepared to do an STI Transmission swap at some point, but if you want something for roll races I'd say go GTI, also I feel like the GTI is the better looking car as well.
Nice! Congrats on the VW GTI! I know we gotta get rid of the fishbowl look. I know you hate everyone looking at you 😂 I can’t wait to see what exhaust you decide to get! Joanna is fresh I see her with the Retro 1s. I’m gonna be “nosey” too 😂😂😂
@@RaceCarFriends it will cost. But you can sell the swapped parts to get some of your money back and it’s still cheaper than buying a Super car / Hyper car
It's a tricky car to launch. I feel like it always wheel hops in first and or the 1-2 shift and tc still bogs the car down even when the esc system is "off". From a roll you can tell it's underrated in power. If this car properly launched with tc actually off and you could do a fast 1-2 with good rubber you could do mid 5's, ohwell. Do you also feel the clutch doesn't have much feel? I feel that's the case in my manual mk8.
Yeah it really is a tricky car to launch and I feel like the clutch is good on this model but I remember driving a 2022 Golf R and didn't like how the clutch felt on that one, I think the shifter would feel better with a weighted shifter knob.
You should get a dog bone mount insert! They should help prevent your engine hitting the firewall when you shift from 1st to 2nd and improve acceleration.
@@RaceCarFriends Yea Black Forest Industries, I got the stage 1 since it isn't as stiff, it was $50. I bought one for my MK7 6spd, it makes shifting feel better in that car too
Damn I miss the VB already STI transmissions only like $3k. I've purchased them cheap as $1500-2200 several years back. My friend just purchased a brand new 2020 one for $2800. They're worth every penny since weakest part of VB shifting is vastly improved more like Honda. Then can sell stock transmission around $2k so only $1k
Man I wish I would have seen this comment before I traded out of it, but I plan on adding on a WRX TR in 2024 so I'll be back in the Subie gang soon enough.
It is my understanding that you can’t fully disable traction control on the GTI. The Golf R allows you to fully disable it, but not the GTI unfortunately
No problems with it at all, if I could I would have kept my 23 I loved that car, I just really wanted to get the last year of the manual gearbox GTI and I couldn't afford to have all 4 cars at the same time, so I'm just gonna work hard and purchase another WRX later on.
The car is awesome. 0-60 doesn’t tell the story on how fast the car is. I think with a rolling start against a lot of other vehicles it’s would hang right with it. Even with the manual. I have a 2023 SE that I traded in a 2022 330i for to lower my payment. In everyday driving the GTI feels quicker.
