One thing I really dislike about Nya and Jay's relationship is that if something were to happen to Nya, Jay would get super upset and it would always focus on his sorrow, but KAI IS NYA'S BROTHER. THEY'RE RELATED. How come we NEVER see how Kai reacts to Nya dying in Seabound, for example, beacuse *SPOILER ALET* In the first few episodes of Crystalised we see how everyone has dealt with the loss of Nya. Its so easy to win Kai over to getting back to the team but Jay?? It takes a whole freaking argument and more. Why is Nya's BROTHER easy to win over after HIS OWN SISTER DIED. Also remember that Kai and Nya are also really close! Kai's taking her loss surprisingly well. It feels like no one remembers Kai anymore 🥲
@HelloThere-nm5pb
@HelloThere-nm5pb 2 года назад
I definitely agree with you that Kai doesn't get enough attention when it comes to Nya. And I also really hate that the season that Kai and Nya get a focus together kinda sucks and therefore isn't really talked about which is fair. A lot of Kai grieving at the loss of Nya is either in the side or downright in the background. In Seabound and Crystalized, he definitely gets a bit more shots and attention than in Skybound where he just stands there and covers his eyes as he's (presumably) crying. Though I do kind of disagree when it comes to Crystalized and Zane and Cole convincing Kai to join the team again. Mostly because of their different personalities and how they cope with grief. Kai really doesn't seem like the type to dwell on it. I'm not saying he's moved on because he literally beats up a carboard cutout of Kalmaar. But it's been a year since Nya's death he's definitely had time to think and get a good coping mechanism and feel bad. I think a somewhat similar thing happened with Cole in season 10. I am kinda mad that the reason for him joining the team again is "Do you want to stay with the kids or get into action" rather than something about Nya like with Lloyd and Jay. Speaking of Jay, he's a literal pessimist and Nya dying would definitely make that worse. Him describing as the glass half empty is definitely on the nose, but it gets the point across. But yeah, I'm also pretty mad that Jay got more attention when it came to Nya's death than Kai too :/.

Kai post March of The Oni is just not as good of a character as previous seasons. He went from a hotheaded but still brave and sensible hero to kind of an idiot. It also feels like they forgot how close Kai and Nya were. The only reason he became a ninja in the first place was to save her.

not to mention that kai basically raised her. honestly, comparing his grief for nya to his for zane is WILD. while he arguably took zane's death the worst (being very visibly and audibly distraught when the event happened, basically wishing he would rather be dead in zane's place, becoming an implied alcoholic, all that) then with nya he was... just numb? in the seabound scene he kinda just stared. and in crystallised he did more productive things in his grief instead of more destructive. it's just almost silly that he took his own sister's death better than a teammate, who he only really knew for like a year or two at that point. sure, there is a sizeable time gap between those two events, but it really just feels like they care less about kai. (however, i'm so glad in crystallised that at least nya remembered kai first, i would've punched a wall if it was jay only)

Not to mention Zane “wishing it all away” violates the first wish. Because that’s not the true intent of his wish. Unless he actually said he’s to be trapped inside that sword for whatever reason. And it also violates the second. Nadakhan would have to be in the sword of 10 times as long as Zane according to the second wish. This would be a cool thing to make part of the story tho. Whereas Nadakhan can actually alter the wishes slightly. Or ignore some. But most of the time he goes along with them normally as he can figure a way to turn it against them. But in Zane’s case he is actually playing his cards right so Nadakhan HAS to cheat. In the end it can be revealed Nadakhan can change wishes. So the ninja can’t really beat him by wishing or by physical power. But by outsmarting him and using his OWN wishes against him.

@@JakersFieldI mean causing people to have their souls trapped in a sword and their bodies left in non-preservative cryostasis for the rest of eternity should be considered harmful. @lycal8084
@lycal8084 13 дней назад
Nadakhan didn’t technically break Zane's wishes. Zane's first wish, for Nadakhan to understand the true intent of his words, was already interpreted by Nadakhan in a way that allowed him to take Zane's words literally, giving him room to manipulate the next wishes to his advantage. The second wish wasn't violated because Nadakhan clarifies that the wish only applies to damage dealt directly to Zane. He asks Zane what happens if the damage is done to another person or if the damage is not physical. Nadakhan argues that deleting information from Zane's Hard Drive does not cause direct physical harm. Thus, this is a gray area that does not fall under Zane's wishes. Nadakhan takes advantage of this to delete Pixal, causing Zane to panic and to wish it all to go away.

Wait a second… Let’s talk about Zane’s wish for a second: According to his second wish, all harm done to him shall be done to Naddakhan ten fold. As we learn later in the season, Naddakhan doesn’t care about Nya OR Delara, just the power they can give him. But in the first few episodes, he did seem to care about Delara… And since she obviously doesn’t exist inside his head and is _currently dead,_ what if the wish just erased any love he had left for her? Because deleting her memory wouldn’t affect him at all, since he’d never remember her existence, but if he _knew_ that he once cared for someone, but no longer finds joy and comfort in those memories, that would suck…. What if the same happened to his friends? He seemed to care about them enough to bring them back from all of those dimensions, so maybe the wish made it so that he stopped caring??? And it makes more sense if you were to consider the possibility that he didn’t “delete” Pixal, but made it look like he did, (Considering what his power can and can’t do, it’s safe to assume that he tricked both Kai and Zane into believing that they HAD to wish for something) so none of his friends are “dead”, but instead “dead to Naddakhan”? Idk man, this is confusing.
@hopechr
@hopechr Год назад
i think he could have used the first wish (respect the intended meaning) to circumvent the second wish (harm onto me is done to you). zane did not forsee naddakhan dealing emotional damage, so emotional damage was not considered. naddakhan knew this because he must know ever tiny detail of the intent of the wish to fulfill the wish exactly as intended.

You hit the nail right on the head with the problems Skybound has with Nya in this narrative. You are entirely correct, her entire role in this season is exclusively defined by her being a girl despise the show's lip service that she is more than just a "girl" ninja. She is the impetus of the plot solely because she is a girl. She is the object of Jay and Nadakhan's desire and this makes her being the impetus of Jay's character arc and the impetus of the actual story plot since Nadakhan is constantly trying to kidnap and marry her. This makes the show's attempts at criticizing sexism ring hallow and it's even more ironic since Ninjago didn't even have a serious problems with sexism until this very season. In their attempt to critique it, the writers invented their own problem. I also find this "girl ninja" criticism hypocritical from a fundamental level because in many ways, it feels like Nya was only promoted to being a Ninja *because* she was a girl. Look, it's no secret that Ninjago was sort of perceived as a boys club in its first few seasons. All 5 characters were male and because of that, it gave the impression to some audiences that Ninjago was a theme for boys. But girls still liked Ninjago and Lego began wanting the theme to appeal to girls. That is why, while no direct proof of this exists, it seems all but certain that Nya was promoted to being a Ninja because Lego wanted there to be a female Ninja on the team. That essentially means that Nya was only promoted because she was a girl, ie she _was_ the girl Ninja. I don't know if this was an executive move by Lego or if the show pushed for it but regardless, it still means Nya was the girl Ninja. And to be fair, the show tried to make her promotion as seamless as possible but it still felt sudden and arbitrary. It's hard to justify any in-universe reason for Nya secretly being a master of water and Master Wu never training her when Ninjago has been on the brink of being conquered countless times prior. Nya even expressed interest in in being a Ninja before so why was she never trained then if she always had latent Water abilities? It was obvious the writers invented her Water Elemental heritage for season 5 so they could justify her promotion to Ninja. And Nya being promoted was extra frustrating because even though their intention was to show that girls too can be Ninja (a non-sexist message) they conveyed it through Nya being forced to give up her identity as a Samurai to be a Ninja, something she did not want to be. Nya earned her role as Samurai by being remarkably independent and showing agency, which is the essence of feminism. She made her own path to equal the Ninja on her own terms. It was very good writing and it exemplifies girl power. But by forcing her to give up her role as Samurai X, the writers took away that agency and that independence. They basically said "We know you liked doing this and you earned this mantle yourself but you're going to have to stop and be a ninja instead because we're forcing you to be the girl Ninja. Lego need it so we can appeal to girls". That's so clearly sexist and it's another reason why Skybound's criticisms of sexism ring hallow. Nya said it herself this season, she did not get to to choose. But Ninjago admitting the problem does rectify the problem. You're also so correct about the how this seasons fails to address the core problem of the love-triangle. If we are being honest, that love triangle should have never happened to begin with but it did happen so Skybound can't just skim past it without addressing the direct causes of that triangle when the reconciliation of when Jay and Nya are the focus of this season. And the core problem (I'm sorry to say) really was Nya and her behavior in entertaining Cole and Jay and refusing to give either an answer. I know you cited Jay as being too clingy and obsessive but I don't think it was that bad in season 3. We only saw one instance of this in Rebooted and as soon as Nya said she needed personal space and that they "talked about this", Jay immediately backed off. That seems like a very mature way for couples to work through a problem. I did not approve of Cole and Jay's behavior in response to Nya at all because for some reason they blamed each other when core problem was Nya entertaining them both and refusing to give either a definitive answer. That was a serious problem and throughout Ninjago, Nya is *never* called out on this terrible behavior. At least Jay and Cole both admit they shouldn't have fought each other and apologized, but did Nya ever apologize how how she treated Jay and Cole? *No she did not.* This makes her anger at being coupled with Jay this season very hypocritical. She never had the decency to give Jay a definitive answer about their relationship or apologize for what she did was wrong and the story lets her get away with this. Now I know why the show never wanted to address this, there is a stereotype that girls are the ones to blame when relationships fail and they wanted to avoid that with Nya. But in this specific case, Nya *was* predominatly to blame. It wasn't Jay being clingy, it wasn't Cole reciprocating (although he shouldn't have), it was Nya who started it and Nya who kept entertaining them both. And because the show never holds her accountable, Nya never takes responsibility. That to me is the opposite of feminism. Everyone, man and woman, needs to take responsibility for their actions. But the writers ignored Nya's flaw here because they didn't want their female character to take responsibility in the context of stereotypes that existed outside of her. But regardless of all of that, she was still *was* responsible. To absolve her of blame on the basis of female stereotypes and her being a female is sexism. Well that was an absurdly long comment but I just wanted to give my reasonings for why I don't enjoy season 6 off of the excellent points you made in this phenomenal video. Skybound has some good elements but the issues I mentioned above (in addition to other things like the predictable ending of everyething being undone and Nadakhan's realm's destruction never being acknowledged) are WAY too major for me to ignore and as a result, I cannot call Skybound a good season.

I have to disagree with this. The 'girl ninja' thing was only there for one episode and is never brought up ever again. The writers just did this to tell the fans that she is more than just 'girl ninja'. Her arc this season is amazing in my opinion. She is not happy with her position in the team and rightfully so. Her entire identity is literally based on another person and she can't even write her own destiny. There is always someone else that choses her identity except that time where she was samurai X and even that was taken away from her in possession where she was forced to become the water ninja. The reason she was mean to Jay in the first episode is because he was a part of her identity problem. She gets back together with him in ep62: "The Last Resort" because at this moment she already told Jay her problems and he completely understood her. He basically stopped simping for her from that point. Them not acknowledging the destruction of Djinjago is not a Skybound problem but more a problem of show itself. However I do agree that Nya was the one to blame in the love triangle plot
@TooSweet353
@TooSweet353 Год назад
@@fortunemuderhwa9318 well I respectfully disagree, Nya's identity has always been as a result of her actions. When she believed the love machine, she started the whole triangle BS and that's why it appeared in Skybound, no one saw her chillin' with Cole until she did that, it was her fault. Jay didn't cause it. After Possession, Wu wouldn't have forced Nya to remain the Water Ninja, In Possession he was doing the intelligent thing, water is the only thing that can stop ghost, we need it for now, had Nya returned to being Samurai X, Wu, Misako and the Ninja would not have disagreed. Also she had no real to be mean to Jay, he didn't cause the Love Triangle. Also so because she is angry with him, she rejects him and Cole directly in public, it would have made more sense if she didn't know Jay still wanted her but the episode where Jay meets Nadakhan, before that she says she still knows. If she did why did she go out of your way to possibly hurt him? Also she started the whole season's mess by "What do you mean by we?", Nya is usually the one most focused on the mission besides Kai(f Rebooted, she was out of character for all of it) when the village in "Rise of the Snakes" episode was attacked, she knocked Jay into his senses telling him to hurry, when The Great Devourer attacked, she again made Jay come to his senses so that they can know the plan, Samurai X won't work if she wasn't focused, infact in her very first scene, she shows(through a speech to Kai) that by being patient, she was willing to sacrifice time to achieve her objectives, Patience needs Focus. Now all of a sudden because of an off comment by Jay, she's trying to understand that over stopping a known criminal's plan?

@@Obi-Wan_Kenobi Djnjago wasn't the Ninja's fault, technically speaking, so what is there to discuss? How were they supposed to know the Departed Realm was connected to another realm...let alone the fact that destroying her would additionally destroy something else? And...even if they DID...were they just supposed to let the Preeminent corrupt/dominate countless other worlds? I suppose this is the point you're trying to make, but maybe they could've had a scene where the Ninja try to reason with Nadakhan, telling him they didn't know they were destroying his realm by saving their own. Perhaps Lloyd sympathizes with Nadakhan on a deeper level, noting that destroying the Preeminent came at a great personal cost to him as well (the permanent end of Garmadon), and is therefore inclined to help him restore his home in a way that will be beneficial to both parties. Of course Nadakhan wouldn't agree, but all of this would generate a really good Civil War-esque argument on whether the Ninja are justified (morally) for sacrificing the lives of *one* realm for the sake of *all of them*. We all know the Preeminent wasn't going to stop at Ninjago, but perhaps there could've been a safer way to contain it? I honestly blame the whole Jaya and Delera plots for undermining what could've been a really though-provoking season, I'm not sure how well it would work with Nadakhan's wishing gimmick, but it is definitely an interesting possibility.
@Obi-Wan_Kenobi
@Obi-Wan_Kenobi 2 года назад
@@swaggasaurus4837 I don't expect the Ninja to know that destroying the Preeminent would destroy another realm nor do I blame them, but I do expect a reveal of such gravity to have a greater impact on the Ninja. You can't just introduce a major plot point like that and never have the Ninja learn about or address it. Because even though the Ninja don't know, the audiences does know and it feels really lazy for the show to never address this bombshell revelation within its own canon or to see how the Ninja react. Again, I don't blame the Ninja at all nor do I even except them be forced to make a choice between the Preeminent and all the citizens of Nadakhan's realm, but the show can't just open up that can of worms and never have their characters address it. Like what would happen if you learned that every time you learned that you opened a door someone on the side of the world just died? Obviously you aren't responsible but if you would still feel an enormous amount of guilt and learning this would fundamentally alter your viewpoint. In that same vein, I at least expect the Ninja to learn about this horrifying revelation and how how it impacts them, especially Nya. And you yourself mentioned an excellent way to incorporate it, is this revelation to heighten the conflict between Nadakhan and the Ninja. Because while Nadakhan is motivated by revenge for the destruction of him home, he never once tells the Ninja this. This is such a blatant missed opportunity for conflict. And to make matters worse, because the story ends with time being rewritten, Nadakhan's entire realm is just destroyed off-screen and will never be addressed by anyone. The show cannot introduce a huge plot point like that and never have it addressed, it is completely dissatisfying for the viewers.

I definitely agree that old Lloyd would have worked in Hands of Time. Let there be consequences and plot threads that run through more than one season, a problem I have with seasons 3 through 6 is that they could have conceivably just ended the show then and there with no cliffhangers. They could have easily just been standalone stories (Though I guess they did have Morro fly across the screen at the end of season 4, they could have easily not done that though). For all its faults at least Hands of Time ended with Wu having disappeared, there was an actual cliffhanger. Also re: Echo Zane, to my knowledge Zane still doesn't know that he has a brother trapped away in his Dad's lighthouse. Kind of makes Jay and Nya look like terrible friends for not telling him and it also makes Dr. Julien look bad for abandoning Echo Zane in the first place.

I believe that Skybound is not really that big of a deal because there weren't real consequences to the season that could affect the future seasons. They even gave us Zane's brother, but since that season was reset, Echo is still on that fucking island!

This was a very solid video and as I was watching it I couldn't stop myself from pointing out different things that they could have easily changed in this season that would have vastly improved it. One quick thing I do want to add about your argument that Djinjago should have been placed next to the ocean since it's right next to the city, That was something that was changed in season 8 because of the movie. Prior to the movie, I think the city was just surrounded by desert and other small towns, but it was in a more centralized location than it was starting in season 8. Just a small thing, but it is important to acknowledge that the city was not a port city at the time.

Very interesting video! There’s definitely some very compelling arguments to be made both ways for many of your points. On the point of Nya being treated as an object, I can definitely see why this would seem the case when looking at the majority of the story structure for the season. However, as with most of Ninjago, I find that most of its themes are represented through its characters’ specific progressions rather than simple story structures. The moment I want to highlight here is the scene where Nya sacrifices herself for Jay in the lighthouse. Without taking this scene’s character implications into account, it definitely does seem that Nya is completely treated as an object from here onward. However, the truth is that the intended purpose of these scenes afterward are only results of Nya’s actions(rather than a representation of themes) and should be regarded as simple plot progression. Maybe this is a point that can be interpreted in a few ways(and honestly I do need to sit on this thought for a bit after watching this video), but I believe that to an extent scenes that are not intended to convey a thematic purpose should not be regarded as such. The intended focus here was on the choice that Nya made in the lighthouse(which reflects her personal agency in spite of society’s pressures), and I suppose it is up to interpretation by the viewers as to whether or not this moment was adequate enough for her season-long arc. Basically, when comparing Ninjago’s representation of its theme in its characters versus its story structures, I generally think that characterization carries more weight. As for some of the points on Nadakhan’s powers, the moment in the finale of the season where Jay talks about how every wish needed Nadakhan to fulfill them serves as crucial explanation. In fact, without taking this moment into account, the season appears to crumble apart completely in several aspects. So what does Jay mean in this scene? Basically, Nadakhan’s wishes aren’t just simple wishes, they also take his victims’ agency and manipulate them to his own will. Whenever someone wishes something from Nadakhan, they are essentially giving up a part of themself to fulfill the wish. Now, this of course doesn’t solve some other problems with his powers, those being the fact that people can wish upon other people to directly take away others’ agency(Lloyd wishing Flintlocke to be a lousy shot) or the fact that some wishes literally contradict “no wishing for harm”. Nonetheless, Jay’s explanation serves as both thematically and structurally crucial to the season. The turning point of Jay’s arc occurs in episode 63, when he finally decides to actually take charge of his own life by going after Nadakhan rather than relying on conveniences and wishes to help him. It’s summed up in what I think is the quote of the season: “If you want something bad enough, don’t wish for it to happen, make it happen”. Of course, the following actions to this moment in episode 63 fall into a similar category of strange thematic representation in story structure to Nya’s portrayal after the lighthouse when Jay happens to contradict this message by using a wish. After watching your video, I do believe that these parts of the season are the ones that I am left most torn on. As for some of the rest of Nadakhan’s actions, they can be pretty easily explained. He doesn’t simply strike people with his sword because he’s arrogant and likes to see his victims lose agency, and his arrogance continues to increase all the way into the finale where he essentially toys with the ninja with his powers.

Ar this point, i think its safe to assume that the ninja are still teens. Then, there's Nadakhan, trying to marry Nya, assumed to ba a minor. Sorry if this is weird to mention, but it really bugs me because OBVIOUSLY. I loathe the season and its main villain for this. I get making a villain a horrid person, like how in the Ice Chapter, Vex took huge advantage of Zane when he lost his memories. Like THATS a good villain But turning a villain intona creep is just... gross. And its so obvious too, like take a look at how Nadakahn acts. And even if the slight chance that the ninja are teens still exists, its still weird and harrassing behavior. Oh, and horrible character development. That too.

You make some pretty good points and this season does have a lot of flaws (not as many as certain others though like Rebooted or Hands of Time). However, some of the points you made, especially about the villains can be applied to most of the other seasons as well. I actually feel like Skybound was the first season with genuinely interesting side villains because they were actually somewhat relevant instead of being just generic background goons. The issue with Nadakhan's powers and the Sky Pirates dialogue can also be applied to literally every other fictional villain. But other than that, the rest of the points you made were really good, eliminating all of the main characters so that one of them can have the spotlight is a horrible idea and I hate how they did it again in Prime Empire. It seems like they can't make a Jay season without removing everyone else from the plot for some reason.

Good video I liked all your opinions and I agree with most of them I however disagree because I definetly think Jay and Nya had character arcs throughout this season... Nya does learn to stop being so "I'm independant I don't need help" because at the end she does let Jay save her and I think in the lighthouse she realized that and she understood the pain Jay went through on the Mysfortunes Keep and desided to put herself in that situation in order to prtect him from going through it again... and as for Jay he does learn to let go and do things on his own at the end and be a leader... that's why I think the other ninja had to be removed because Jay got the same character arc Cole did in Day of the Departed and that was he learned how to do things on his own even when he feels alone and scared and I have no problem with that character arc for either of them cuz Jay and Cole are definetly the most dependent on the team and it was good for them to have some story to themselves.

I mean it has a pro: it was the perfect end for Nadakhan and it left a cliffhanger that he could realistically return, that's hard to do and it was pulled off expertly, it's also a very unique ending (by far the most unique after Sons of Garmadon as they straight up lose in that season). But then it kind of: got convoluted as only Jay and Nya remember but for some reason the rest don't? And Nadakhan has infinite wishes so I always wondered why he couldn't wish against it?(although that's more personal opinion than a definite flaw). It felt contrived and convenient like they wrote it because they were in the corner and pulled something out. It's pretty mixed in my mind as to whether it's good or bad.

30:55 Nadakhan didn’t technically break Zane's wishes.

I guess but Jay's last wish is really not the only way to defeat Nadakhan, everybody that wasn't a part of the main Ninja had their full set of wishes and let's be honest, Nadakhan doesn't twist the Ninja's wishes because of he's clever but because the Ninja were stupid + bad wording. He does it off of sheer idiocy and as for Zane, he just cheats to win. Also in the season, he cheats to get Lloyd and Cole get wished away. Hey Nadakhan, why don't you use that tactic more often. It's not stated that someone has to finish their wishes before it becomes possible to ask someone to wish them away. If so it sucks all the tension out of the season because it doesn't matter whether they had 3 calculated wishes, Nadakhan could just have asked Clouse to wish them away.

Misako and Zane really get on my nerves when they get captured by nadakhan, Misako isn't as bad as Zane but still terrible. Misako keeps repeating "I wish" and then gets captured even though normally she would've be smarter than that, at the start yeah I guess it was fine she said "I wish to speak to the person in charge" which is just a normal accident. But the time after that is just dumb, she should've already realised that she should stop saying "I wish" after the first time nadakhan came and said "Is that a wish I hear?" but then she randomly says "I wish I had never said anything in the first place" like seriously she isn't that dumb to say that INFRONT of nadakhan after she was already warned not to say anything with "I wish" in it because of nadakhan appearing in the prison at the start. But Zane, ZANE IS PLAIN STUPID. His reason for being captured by nadakhan was BS, I understood how the other ninjas fell for nadakhan's trick when he told them to wish it all away because they didn't know his plan. But Zane did know what Nadakhan was up to and he's a fucking nindroid! At the start he was playing it smart with good wishes, he messed up on the second wish but he's a nindroid! He could've done a similiar wish like Jay did and wish that he never even agree'd to Nadakhan asking him to wish for things, but instead he randomly goes "I WISH FOR IT TO ALL GO AWAY!!!!!" he's a fucking robot, he should've seen through Nadakhan's plan and just made a wish to reverse time and make it so that he never wished anything in the first place since he's a robot he would've known to pull a 200 iq wish like that. But instead he turns into some dumb human and wishes it all away. 🤦 Secondly, the thing I hate the most about skybound is the ending. Literally they reversed everything to the point where they were back at square one, basically makes you feel like you made no progress since season 5 of Ninjago. The excuse was "Ninjago was destroyed badly" that makes no sense considering the destruction of the city in skybound is minor compared to the destruction of the city in other seasons like The Overlord in season 2, or The March of the Oni in season 10. Where it felt like there was no way Ninjago's city would recover or the ninjas would win. Whereas in Skybound it's just falling buildings onto the city of Ninjago, compare that to The March Of the Oni or The Overlord in season 2 where the city is in a complete mist of darkness and destruction. If the ninjas were capable of defeating the Overlord and The March Of the Oni and STILL saving the city of Ninjago without having to reverse the events that took place, there's no way they can't beat Nadakhan normally and save the city after a bunch of buildings and huge rocks fall onto the city of Ninjago WITHOUT having to reverse the season...😂. Skybound's destruction on the city of Ninjago would've probably just resulted with an ending similiar to that of Hunted's ending where everybody has to clean up the city after the destruction. It wouldn't have been as catastrophic as compared to other seasons where Ninjago's city was destroyed even more.

Well when you explain it like that. It seems pretty dumb 🤣

you need to remember that clous and wu were both inside the djinblade cause we did see nadakhan break the teapot and he observed both of them into the sword

Skybound was one of the better seasons of Ninjago, as it had actual character development for one of the least developed characters ever.. Jay. Although he loses all of this development in future seasons, he transforms this season. He goes from being selfish about getting together with Nya to realizing that Nya has a voice too. Nadakhan helps him realize this by breaking Jay in every way possible. Nadakhan was a great villain, being one of the most powerful and cunning villains in ninjago. Think of him as having Chen’s cunning and Morro’s strength. Another thing great about Nadakhan is the fact that his power is limited unlike many other villains who strike the hardest at first and then have to fight the ninja who have some form of defense against them (rise of the snakes, possession). I’ll stop talking about Nadakhan. Only flaws with this season were all the events getting erased, including Jay’s character development. Also the whole “split and conquer” strategy Nadakhan used against the ninja to gain power didn’t fit well with me, although it helped Jay develop as a character realizing that he would have to do something by himself rather than have all of his friends do the tasks for him.
