Mostly sealed for me under the 25 years i have bought subs then. I have now a arendal 1961 1s sub. More of this or another brand and multiple then.

My hands are tied to ported. I have a 25x30 living room with 12' cathedral ceilings. I ordered 2 sw15p. Its probably the most i can get with a happy wife.

I have 4 sealed subs . 2 svs sb16 ultra in the front and 2 sb4000s in the rear with one of them directly behind my recliner .😊 .

It is the near field sub is a game changer. I'm going to upgrade my receiver to the denon 3800 or the 4800 to take advantage of the 4 sub output and dirac live .

I have two of the SW15s and have been extremely happy with them. I'm considering adding one or two more because I have a terrible null in my MLP that I can't seem to correct enough without at least a third sub. That's more about the room though. The subs are awesome.

Nulls are a sound wave response to the shape of the room. By moving the subs, you move the nulls to more desirable places. Adding subs evens out the nulls if placed properly.

@@tkcdac my skillset is much more in the construction and finishing of my theater room. The calibration and acoustics have a steep learning curve for me. Luckily adjusting the acoustic treatment in my room is pretty easy. I have fabric track over all of the walls so I can just pull that out and add or subtract treatments behind it. Part of my problem is I think that I over treated the room a bitm

why not just seal your pb4000? Is a ported speaker in its full sealed config the same as a sealed counterpart? I mean like 1 to 1?

Im a sealed guy. The best ported sub SQ wise ive heard is a PSA EV1813-M, but its huge for a living room.

Now it make sense on your ad lol I mean it’s a hella of a deal on your listing. I was like I wonder what made you change your mind. I mean we all love port enclosure until we start hearing that chuffing. Ive been debating on what brand to go with as I’m an die hard JL audio fan but them prices are something else

@@hatoraidcowboy I’m thinking of doing a DIY route for JL subs, I owned plenty for car audio and everyone love how clean and accurate it sounds. At the moment I do have a spare JL Audio W7 10 inch that I’m thinking about using for Home Theater but I might get me a 12 inch instead. I had dual 8 inch in my truck unfortunately you know H-Town and how hot truck thief is right now and I was one of them victims. So now I’m just focus on Home Theater stuff lol

I’m a sealed guy for home theater. Just know there are vented subs that are tuned to 10 or 15 hertz. But we are talking gsg, jtr etc. For most home theaters. If you can do 2-4 subs, I would go sealed. Unless going with the big boys.

My JTR 4000s do not chuff, but they are the exception. I like ported. My ported are tuned to 10hz. Plenty of lower extension, and anything lower in infrasonic simply destroys other rooms and irritates the wife. It's like investing in termites. Why invest in a degradation that you can not hear? I do however have butt shakers. This allows me to turn up the simulated infrasonic with zero room transmission.
