@@vintyprod glad you’re on board, but might I suggest that the most interesting stuff about F1 actually happens on the build up to the race. These days quali is the only time we really get to see some real balls to the wall driving, but even apart from that - FP sessions and the analyses of them are what keep me going. Check out Peter Windsor’s videos the night after every session - he’s the greatest F1 pundit there is, IMO
😂 they started with me in a slow diet of RU-vid highlights and then got me in. Then Netflix series didn’t help much either. Today I am 2 years in a row F1tv subscriber.
DTS definitely has turned the "entertainment" dial to an 11 out of 10 with a lot of the shit they show being fake drama but eh whatever it attracts people to the sport and then hopefully through watching the races they see the true nature of the drivers & sport. Drivers have already started to dislike showing up or talking about DTS cuz they see it as too much past the entertainment side & not about the sport
In January 2018 I saw the press of Roborace at CES and found Formula E being referenced in articles. Once a fan of Formula E, I found Formula 1, then IndyCar, then NASCAR. I now watch all forms of racing: NHRA, WEC, IMSA, Formula Drift, WRC... Thank you Roborace
One simple thing they can do is make more F1 movies. RUSH was amazing and attracted more casual viewers to the history of F1 and the passion towards it. Movies on Senna , Schumacher are dying to come out (not talking about documentaries)
This video actually made me hate the DTS "casual" fans even more. I used to be happy that Americans were jumping on board - made me feel like I could move there and still follow F1 at a meaningful level. Now I see it’s just literally the worst possible audiences captured. There is no transfer over from the American motorsport community - it’s just social media Gen Z people that will be sure we deal the end of the ICE sooner rather than later. I'm a millennial that just happened to be following F1 all my life, not a 70 year old millionaire
Maybe it's been globally successful, but I'm not sure the "recipe" will work for long. In remember that, when I was a kid the race was much more interesting. In particular in Italy, where I am from the state tv broadcaster was putting airing a 20' programme before the actual race explaining with some former pilots which were the characteristic of the race, gears, brakes and possible overtaking spots and cars characteristics as well. And 30' after-race comment, which at the time was almost always a 1st and 2nd place Ferrari duet. Than there were made several changes that mede the game overall less interesting, like urban tracks (low take-over possibility), the elimination of the refuel stops and the single tire provider made the race less interesting by drastically reducing the variety of strategies to adopt. Basically, in some tracks the only option for a change in the arrival race order was at the first curve and a Safety Car, and as a former fan, I really did not want to hope for a safety car to see some takeovers or some strategy in place. The show ratings dropped to a level that the show and the broadcast itself has been cancelled since 2018 and I think it's cancellation says a lot on the quality level of the race, as the country the were broadcasting to had provided a lot of teams to the game: Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Benetton, Maserati, Minardi, Alpha Tauri. I think the public expected a level of quality that could no longer see in the race, and quite frankly I'm quite surprised that the show lasted so long, as the last years I've been checking just the first part and the 1st lap until the first curve and dropped it completely after 2010.
This an example of a good video of yours. It actually has info in it that's useful for people who don't understand f1. I am an f1 fan and I think this is a good update on the history and modernization of f1 This is an example of your channel doing kts job But you lost this quality, and you do some hits some misses For a guy who in your newest videos says you and your team obsess perfection. Doesnf show when you still make hollow clickbait miss videos
Fair point. Saw your other comments tonight. Unfortunately, this was one of the most unsuccessful videos we made last year. Something about this format just didn’t work. - Caya
I don't know if you still have the opportunity for a call for the first few comments, but I'm definitely up for it if you do! :D Otherwise: I'll come back to watch this video in a few hours! (Still at work lol)
DTS is an awful representation of the sport. and f1 was never ever boring, all Netflix did was feed the gullible watchers or the so called mass-audience fake narratives, wrong parts of the race to focus on, and finished the uniqueness of a driver's character to such an extent that there is no excitement to their behaviour. Kudos to them, they pulled in viewers but anyone who says Netflix or Liberty media made f1 "interesting" is highly misguided and quite frankly stupid.
Maaan, with all the respect to your great startup videos - this one is too superficial. You obviousely do not know the context, neither on Berine's background, nor on this sport's popularity dynamics. The ourcomes that you make and the cause-root stuff - that all fails because of lack of context. I can discuss with you point-by-point if you wish, but probably too late - 2 years afterwards :)
this "formula" for Formula 1 will implode, peope will get bored of it in a few years, Old formula 1 (except ferrari domination years) was way better, when teams experiment way more, now feels like nascar, I remember used to watch all the practices and qualify, pre and post shows, was fun to see all the gossip and drama in the SPORT, now is like a reality show, for people with an attention span of 2 minutes, now i just watch the highlights
