Believe it or not with the track mode update the car seems to jump up to around 1100 hp on the dynos. Seems as though Tesla has deliberately restricted the cars potential to the masses and will let them get faster with random updates. There was going to be a Plaid Plus, so one can assume that a standard plaid was fitted up for a power boost.
@sbrader97
@sbrader97 2 года назад
The plaid plus was also gonna have higher battery capacity which would have afforded them more current to push the motors harder. Maybe they will eventually release it in the future with the 4680s

Yes English say that too, Americans tend to say motor when the mean engine.

Annoys me too when americans say about the 'modur' when they mean engine. Like, dude, unless you're on about the starter motor, theres no motor under the bonnet.

Had one of these on order, should have been here in November 22 but have not been told that it will be delayed until it is ready.....no idea when.

Yeah, general problem for all manufacturers right now. There's a massive delay in production of computer chips, which delays car parts for all brands.

Great vid Jamie. It’s a great feat of engineering. However, Tesla single handedly devalued speed.

It’s just Elons way of giving the two middle fingers to the entire ICE cars world. I am glad he did. Porsche charging over $100k additional to the price of a new turbo S for an additional 25 horsepower to the 911 turbo and calling it “exclusive series”?!? Fuck that shit. Car companies giving their newer models an additional 5 hp over the previous models and charging a premium. So the only option is dealing with dodgy “tuning” companies that have ZERO responsibility/liability to their customers but promise them BS results. Their excuse “pay to play” bullshit. Anyway, whether we like it or not EV is the future

Great analogy actually, ice reminds me of dial up internet. Or smokers, or blockbuster, or flip phones&pagers. 🤔 It's just older outdated tech now, nothing against it. Times have moved on. Nobody outside of a very few hardcore loud mouthed petrol heads is gonna miss doing all those harmful&wasteful oil changes, tune ups, replacing their exhaust systems, 02sensors and catalytic converters(which use rare earths btw, engine air filters, yearly emissions testing etc. Our lungs and landfills will thank every one of us who switches to an ev. Evs eliminate all of that extra crap. While allowing the owner to even power it themselves with home solar panels or wind turbines. Heck in many places slow charging is free(name one gas station giving away free gas? 😀 I get 400kwhs a month here free for mine if I only charge it between 11pm-6am off peak.👍🏻

I cant wait until Lucid sells their "motor/tranny/ecu" pack as it would literally fit in any car and you could get these ridiculous speeds in project cars. I can only imagine taking all the power of the plaid and sticking in my Celica GTS but making it RWD...and at some point it will be cheaper and easier than a custom V8 swap.

2.63 in the wet, with 3 people in the car, for 130k stock. Let that sink in. Now just imagine. 1 driver. Stripped out, or at least some of it. And a dedicated engine map as they would have obviously mapped the car for some kind of reliability and mileage.
