This case actually pisses me off so much. Cases like this throw such a bad light onto polygamists, who just want to live together peacefully. Extreme cases like this have no business falling under polygamy, cause it's not consentful, it's horribly neglectful and unhealthy. He clearly doesn't care about any of his wives or children.
They do deserve to fall over polygamy. The consensual ones in which everyone loves eachother are polyamory, aka something valid and completely harmless.

@@tssprankle yes, but in polygamy, one person has multiple partners, whereas, in polyamory, both the partners are allowed to take multiple lovers or one lover. Both are something I would not do but I find polygamy unfair completely due to the fact that only one’s allowed to see other partners. If you’re going to get to see anyone, it should go both ways, not just in your favour, yk?

Like, I personally have very mixed views on whether polyamorous relationships are ethical, but either way, if everyone in the relationship is aware of everyone else, and is comfortable with it, then sure, go for it if you want to. It's your choice, and even if polygamy isn't legal, polyamorous relationships are.

🤦♀️ listen you are mixing up two things: polyamoury and polygamy (and there's also polysexual, which means being attracted to multiple genders but not necessarily all of them). Polyamoury always implies consent and romantic feelings from all parties. Polygamy just means "being married to several people at once" - it says nothing about whether or not people love each other. Just like monogamy - being married to one person exclusively. This man is not claiming to be polyamourous, he's never said he loves all these women. He just married them to produce slave children. He's a polygamist. This concept has nothing to do with your (and my) identity or relationship status. I share your dislike of him though.

Bon the Bunny polyamory is basically when more than 2 people are in a relationship and everyone is consenting. So if a boyfriend has a girlfriend and wants another, and the girlfriend and that other girlfriend doesn’t mind, it’s completely fine.

Polygamy is when all of the partners are allowed to see other people. Are any of his wives married to other people? There's something very sketchy going on here. Not only is he the only one with 27 partners, while his other partners aren't married to anyone else (though I'm sure they might be dating or casually seeing other people, especially since he cannot possibly know what each wife is doing at any given moment given that there are TWENTY SEVEN OF THEM), there is no logical explanation as to how he managed to have them all agree to marry him, knowing his wife count. Also, he really isn't pleasing to the eye, not very smart, doesn't seem to have a charming personality. So what on earth could have drawn that amount of women to him Not to mention the underage brides and the possible child trafficking.. Yeah, he isn't just an innocent man practicing polygamy.

I am fine with polygamy too, but the max amount of partners should be 5 and even that can be too many, but Cheating is not a polygamous relationship, that is giving polygamy a bad name, in polygamy the partners would know and maybe sometimes it could be a triangle, sometimes it is a V, I am partially polygamous, I can live in a monogamous relationship, and I won’t actively look for new relationships, but if something does happen I would tell my partner about it and see if they are okay, and I would also ask if the other person is okay with it, transparency in polygamy is key and essential, so cheating is not true polygamy, usually /proper/ polygamous relationships that are not open relationships (kind of a different thing) will have 2 partners. So polygamy isn’t horrible, but it gets a bad name because of the people who turn it into a harem

I hope ppl are aware that polygamy and polyamory are completely different, the two get confused all the time and it's a harmful assumption to assume they're the same thing
What makes me sad is that I'm polyamourus. It is so different compared to Polygamy, filled with love and communication. But the two get put in the same box, and it puts us in a negative stigma. I mourn for these poor women who didn't even get to choose who they love.
@@KolchaksGhost Actually there's one core difference. That being Polyamoury is a communicating, consenting decision between all parties involved. Polygamy is normally forced and the people involved (especially the women and children) don't have any say in the matter. In a polyamourus relationship, everyone involved could have a separate relationship if they so choose (For example, a man could date two women, and those two women could also date each other or someone else so long as everyone is consenting to it). In polygamy, it is normally just one man with multiple wives. Those wives are not allowed to ever be in a relationship with each other or anyone else, no matter how many women their respective husband chooses to have. just realized this is what my friend thought i meant when i said i might be down for a poly relationship. i now understand his justifiable horror. for clarification, i was thinking a much smaller relationship between two people where we *all* love each other would be worth a try. consensual, and understanding, with communication and patience between the three of us. collecting wives like pokémon cards is not up my alley, much less actions made by a monster like this.

To be fair, I think it's hypocritical for a country to ban polygamy after legalizing gay marriage. I don't like polygamy, I'd never want to be in a polygamous relationship, but what's the point policing other people's relationship choices? If fully consenting adults wanna do something together that affects no one else, let them have at it. It doesn't concern you. But to be clear, this man SHOULD be in jail. Not for polygamy, but for statutory rape and child neglect (if not outright child abuse).
@@leepoppop5523 I said "consenting." If it wasn't consenting, then of course it should be illegal. Same thing for monogamous or even gay marriage. If anyone is forced to marry someone against their will, then it is wrong, regardless of whether it is polygamy or not.
