On a serious note, PLEASE vaccinate your kids. My brother has cerebral palsy, a disability that prevents development in the muscles and makes the disabled person unable to use fine motor skills even with tons of physical therapy and surgeries. My brother is perfectly healthy other than his disability, and his cerebral palsy isnt even all throughout his body. However he can't cough, so even a common cold is devastating and could cause him to be hospitalized if we can't manually make him cough. If he got pneumonia, he would probably die. If you guys really care about keeping your loved ones alive, PLEASE VACCINATE

Measles isn’t just a rash. It can cause severe brain damage and even death. And in fact, all of the diseases vaccines are for can cause brain damage and death. Also, it hurts that people would rather have their child be threatened with death than develop autism, because that dehumanizes people like me who do have the disorder. And there is no evidence that vaccines cause autism, that has been debunked how many times now?

Wife on husband's account here. My "favorite" one is the dog-turd cling-on to your shoe type of myth that vaccines cause autism. I am autistic. Even *if* it was true that this could happen, there are definitely worse things than being autistic. Diseases such as polio can have permanent life-long disabling effects including the ability to freaking breathe on your own. Chicken Pox (I've HEARD--not entirely sure) can possibly cause sterility. But somehow being autistic is worse than all that...yes, it does make my life a lot harder but it's definitely preferable to being killed or crippled by an easily preventable disease. Whenever the nurse brought me the clipboard in the hospital after we had our baby to give the Hep B and vitamin injections, she seemed almost hesitant to explain to me what it was as though I was going to tear her head off. As I thumbed through the forms to read them, I noticed that the "I do not consent" line was much bigger and at the top of the page while the "I consent" line was smaller and either toward the middle or bottom. I found this state of affairs to be very sad. Nobody likes taking their baby to the pediatrician knowing that they're going to get poked and cry and maybe feel a little crappy the rest of the day but that can be remedied with extra cuddles, a little infant Tylenol, and some patience. I'd rather deal with than weeks or months of some horrible disease making our blessing miserable. And if she does turn out to be autistic (since now it's apparently in our gene pool), it won't be the end of the world either. I had to navigate the world on my own because I went under the radar. I wasn't a picky eater and I didn't have a lot of meltdowns and don't look the way people think autism looks behaviorally though it's a little worse as I get older and take on more responsibility. I can help my child with all the bad parts as I've been there. If she ends up neurotypical, more power to her and I'll be happy that she's got different challenges than me and won't have her volume cranked up to 11 like I do.

You know, I’m pro vax 💯and I did my research on vaccines. For example: my parents were worried about mercury so they requested a type of vaccine that had less. I got my flu vaccine and was safe and my parents didn’t feel like they had to worry. Problem solved!!! Also, I feel like anti vaxxers are the people who can’t afford vaccines. :P
