This reminds me of something that happened to me 5 years ago when I was 12. I missed my bus after school and I had to wait few hours till next bus but I was so hungry. I didn't have any money with me so I stole a sandwich and ate it in the store bathroom. I felt so bad about it that I had actually nightmares that the store would close because I didn't pay for that. So after a week I went back there with money and told the shopkeeper what I did and offered to pay for it. I didn't get in any trouble he just said that I shouldn't do it anymore and that it was good that I confessed.

As someone who actually has Kleptomania, this makes me mad. These people DONT HAVE IT. my highest "savings" ig was about $10 because I stole pins from hot topic. those pins i stole? my least favorite. The ones i bought are the ones I wanted. How do I know i wanted them? I PAID FOR THEM. I still have to force myself to not swipe em. I cant o in hottopic alone because if i do, I'll regret it. I am not proud about this. these people are just thieves

In all fairness, the snake was being held by someone who was treating it really poorly (poor thing was blind in one eye and looked starved) but what he did was wrong. He should have confronted the store owner about the snake's condition. But he put it in his sleeves so he gets an A for creativity.

When I was 15 my family was going through a really rough patch, so I hadn’t had any money to buy food. I was on my way home after school and I had missed my bus (public bus) so I killed time and went into a CVS to cool off (it was summer and 100 degrees) and I was so hungry I hadn’t eaten since yesterday’s quick granola bar. I was just staring at this bagged muffin just sitting there with no employees or cameras and I wanted it so bad but I just couldn’t deal with the guilt of it so I tried to keep walking, I walked by that muffin 4 times before I forced myself to leave. You don’t need to shoplift for makeup or “save money” at lush.

Plot twist: These are 10 year olds who didn't shoplift but just took these things from their mommy

One day i thought about stealing a Sonic the Hedgehog DVD from a store, i asked myself if i was ready to face the wrath of justice, i wasn't, so i gave up on the crime life. I think i was 6 at that time.

Once I accidentally stole some groceries I scanned them and everything, just forgot to put the money in the self checkout machine. My sister was distracting me and I had a headache, so I was just trying to get out of there. I got back to the car with the shopping, where my mother was waiting with my sleeping baby brother. I got in the car, sat down and placed the bags at the seat. Immediately, I realised I still had the money my mother had given me and immediately started bawling my eyes out. I felt so guilty, I couldnt go back in to pay. My mother had to go for me (my sister was too young to go) and explain to the employee what happened and pay. I still feel incredibly guilty about that.

I used to shoplift when I was like... 11-12, my friend taught me how. Then one day, a worker saw me and I had to talk to a manager. After that I never shoplifted again, because it made me feel so bad. And seeing my mom's face when I told her was just.. It felt so bad. People have to have their asses whooped by someone :/

Im a professionally diagnosed kleptomaniac and this was very painful and incredibly cringey to watch. Kleptomania is very specific often times and the things I have urges to steal don't even benefit me. If you steal things just for fun or that rebellious rush, or because you're too much of a brat to pay for something, that is not kleptomania. kleptomania is painful to live with. It's painful to resist urges and when you do give into urges it makes you feel extremely guilty.

I have lived in poverty pretty much my entire adult life, and I have shoplifted the odd thing out of desperation. But it's been shit like soap, medicine, food, etc. But I can't even hope to get away with it anymore bc jfc as I've had burnouts from the stress it's gotten harder and harder for my autistic ass to mask (ie try to act like I'm not autistic), which means that I can't go anywhere without people staring at me and employees thinking I'm up to shit. Even once had a security guard spot me as I turned into an aisle, stand a metre from me with her arms crossed, and watch me as I selected my item, then followed me to the cash, and wouldn't leave me alone until I paid and left. Wasn't even thinking about stealing! I just needed something basic from the dollar store jfc!! I know it was the shady one downtown but fuck off! She wasn't acting like that around anyone else! And freg normally employees are more discreet when they follow me! (Tbc autistic people being treated like we're on drugs, up to something, etc. Is a rampant problem, regardless of race. I'm white for example.)
