I like how Lewitt shows that relying on the past isn’t always the best approach to the future. It makes no sense that microphone innovation would stop 60 or 70 yrs ago.
For sure, but most microphone companies have taken MASSIVE steps backward in the design and construction of transducers. The problem is, you can't really reverse engineer the best caps ever made. Skin materials, tension settings, and circuit materials make the whole process really difficult to nail. There are companies nailing all of this while also pushing the technology forward at the same time. Mojave, Lauten, Soyuz, etc. For me, pushing for new technology at the expense of quality in performance isn't a trade off I want to make for my own work.
The highs are really silky smooth, but I miss that ‚buttery‘ thick tube sound in the mids. It sounds very clean. Too clean? Idk. I‘m still comparing it with my first choice overall, the 940. That definitely sounds ‚thicker‘ and more robust in the mids. I like both of them, but I‘m still leaning towards the 940.
Yes, but capacitors are a part of the tonal circuitry. Tube flavor is only part of it. The whole circuit is where the vibe and personality of any microphone comes from. After having purchased a recently serviced Neumann CMV 563 made in the late 1940s, the noise floor is below -65db. That's crazy quiet! Also, if you absolutely need to, you can add a gentle gate pre compression to lower noise even further.
@@bhattikhlaq3948 Not lying--both LCT 1040 and PURE TUBE have a 10 year warranty. Our warranty statement is just our general policy unless stated otherwise--like in the case of the previously mentioned mics.
@@LEWITT-audiowhat about 440 pure do they cone with the same. Coz i wanna buy 15 same kinda mic for vocal to training for my studio coaching institute?
But Tube goes off after a while...how to change it...especially in a Countty like India where neither products not available or available at crazy high cost or no services available ...😢😢😢
But why that treble bump in all your mics? I really hate that sizzle if it's too much. And most of the time you need to use de-esser anyway so double "hell nah". Great product but without Neumann's clarity and smoothness in every freq range you are still not so close to U87 or 47. But VERY VERY close in terms of quality of the mic.
I don't think they intend to make a Neumann clone, but something original. Anyway, I think what you mention already became the «Lewitt sound». Not for everyone, but it's great to have flavours to choose.
Thx for commenting. If you check the frequency graph, you'll see that PURE TUBE is actually quite linear, and also the high-end is rather unpronounced and we found that it sounds very different from our other mics. What do you think? Btw, you'll find the interactive freq graph in the specifications section: www.lewitt-audio.com/microphones/lct-recording/pure-tube All the best from Vienna!
I just bought the Lewitt pure 440 and it blew my mind for the price. It also has only 7dBA noise noise. And I can literally turn a whisper into a huge sound without any noise at all. Imagine what a tube mic could do with that kind of low self noise.
The LCT 1040 is our flagship model that allows you to shape and adapt your sound to the source with not only an FET/tube blend but four different tube characteristics and seamless polar pattern control that additionally can be used to shape the frequency response... The LCT 1040 is replacing a whole mic locker, whereas the PURE TUBE is a one-trick pony for vocal recordings with classic tube sound. They also sound different as they use completely different circuit designs. So the answer is, no they are not on par, as they were designed for two different things. Of course, we'll be happy to help, in case you have further questions.
@LEWITT-audio and I have to say I'm warming up to the 1040. I already liked it, but I'm starting to be wowed ... at first that low noise floor had me think it wasn't as good until I heard the punch
@@LEWITT-audio It was youtube trend for a while to stick things in a blender to see "Will it blend?" or not. However, I do not recommend that experiment for the Lewitt Pure Tube :) Good luck.
I’ve come across your channel before and thought you were alittle high horse but now you’re showing your sexism bro find happiness if you’re saying stuff like this in RU-vid comments on a mic review
