I recently started watching Ryu's SMM videos again after a year or two of being a loser and not watching his content and I have to say, I am so glad I came back. 😄👍 Ryu has a way of putting me in a great mood even when I'm all depressed and what not. It's so strange how certain videos can help to alter one's mood and certain outlook on any given day. Thanks Ryu for being you ⭐🤗⭐

I love this challenge. Mathematically, if you had a 50/50 shot at each level, seems like it's in the right ballpark, you have slighty more than one one thousandth of a percent chance of winning the challenge each run. ( .5^16)×100=.0015...% good luck ryu, mario, and princess peach.

I never paid attention to how ridiculous the jump from Normal to Expert is. You go from 'Hold Right To Win' levels to instant kaizo deaths with zero middle ground.

Haha, great ending. Now this challenge has turned out to be very entertaining. Worth it.

I think this could open up a pretty big backlog of ryuvenge at this point. What if we made this into beating the super experts amount of levels, (6?) and then ryuvenge on the lost levels? Thoughts? Also, that last level I laughed pretty hard on, thanks for that!!

I think this challenge is more suitable for live stream. Viewers like me would prefer to see levels beaten, rather than keep failing and have lots of stages unbeaten. It's almost impossible to beat more than 8 stages anyway. Consider changing the goal to "beating Expect Challenge with the most remaining lives", and maybe there's a chance you'll get a perfect run.

I never played SMM the first one but I sure wish I did. I would of loved to play with them costumes. So when I played Mario Marker 2 I fell in love and haven't stopped since.

That's the problem Ryu I've noticed that when you play without caution you seem to kick ass and it's almost as nothing can stop you, Now when you start playing with caution and being nervous it's as is everything is out to kill you. Lol For example that level with all those Piranha plants, When you had already died and just didn't care about that level anymore because it didn't count you immediately saw "The Cheese" right at the start. You'll get this!! And I'm loving this new challenge... Keep up the great job!!

I think you need a 3-second rule. Deaths in the 1st 3 seconds get a second attempt.

I think to make this more possible and probably more enjoyable for you Ryu is that if you can collect a life in a level before you die you get another chance at the level which can give you up to 3 chances since you can only collect 3 lifes in a level.

So is there a hidden ELO for Super Mario Maker levels? As Ryu said that the first levels of run feel easier Experts, than later stages? So maybe behind the scenes there is a ELO meter stacking up according to progress/deaths to refine the experience according to player skill level?

I love the SMM1 content!! Awesome!! Having said that, the problem with this specific challenge is that completing it relies WAY too much on luck. You have to hope that you’ll get levels that are hard enough for expert but also fair enough that a highly skilled person has a reasonable chance of not dying to total BS. Getting 16 such levels in a row seems highly unlikely. Because of that, it just feels like an exercise in masochism and kinda isn’t interesting.

I played this challenge today earlier and died to a troll level, many troll blocks at the beginning jump, another lakitu group throwing spiney beatles, some extreme survival room with 3 Bowsers spitting fire and you only had bombs and mushroom respawns after you lose your only fire flower you get. Then there was the fast moving auto scroll deaths. Speed runs. Coming out of doors with no reaction time to know deaths. It's going to be extremely tough to pull off. I can't get past 3 levels. OOOh, just got 5 levels. That's my best.

The time will come when we hear "Stage 16 with 100 lives". And it will be glorious.

I like this challenge. It's appropriately difficult. It could take a year to complete. This is only good since it means more content =)

I know they said they're done with Mario Maker 2, but every time I see a puzzle box style level design (whether MM1 or MM2) I wonder why they didn't do a Metroid update like the Link power up that turns you into Samus with morph ball, screw attack and missiles.
