That is a very happy Monstera! ~ so healthy and glossy looking. Like many, I never tire of a M. deliciosa. It's one of those classic houseplants that's been around for decades but still elicits a smile like a dear familiar friend. As it matures there's always that anticipation about how big the leaf, and how many fenestrations will appear. And I love the crazy growth habit of the aerial roots. Fab video! :)

Hi Jeff, That is one happy plant! I’m rehabbing a Sansiveria White Snow and Moonshine in water. The roots were struggling so I sprayed them down with hydrogen peroxide. Within days new roots formed and both are doing great in the jar.

Wow Jeff! I went thru almost doing that last week. I even videoed with my cell phone! My hoya publicalyx roots in leca filled the jar and I had the darndest time getting it out. I poured water in, used a chop stick, tugged and was so afraid of breaking the stem. After 5 minutes or more, I was able to get it free. Breaking the jar was definitely my next option! Thanks for sharing! Dee, New York

I've gotten some plants stuck in glass jars before too😂Before you get it stuck in that jar too , i would recommend that you check out some plastic jars or a clear container with cylindrical or outward fluted sides! Hence the reason I'm growing my Thai constellation and a large clear plastic pretzel container that I scavenged from the grocery store I work at😂 so much easier then to get out and so much easier to clean up than broken glass !

Hi, I'm late to your channel but just wanted to say how much I appreciate these experiments. I've recently been toying with the idea of growing a monstera in a setting where I'll have to be away for long stretches at a time and had pretty much concluded that air-stone hydroponics was going to be my best shot at keeping it going while away. I'm very reassured to see it working so well for you. In a followup episode, I'd be curious to know how much of an effect constant-vs-intermittent air stone makes on the water consumption. Thank you.
@EverythingPlants

I have mine on constant and this thing is still thriving! This is actually a fantastic idea for a video....thanks!

The air pump definitely makes a difference! It increases the surface area of the water resulting in more gas exchange in the water and higher oxygen levels in the water!

Wrapping a jar before breaking it prevents glass shards from flying around the room. A used plastic bag, or newspaper works.

To get that future support stake to be strong, you could possibly use large hose clamps around the jar and the support stake.
