Though we didn't mean to watch two movies from Cannon in a row, I'm glad that we did. Charles Bronson rampages through the entirety of Death Wish 3. This flick is pure Cannon pleasure.

Charles Bronson was a genuine badass. Grew up poorer than dirt, unable to speak English, worked his ass off in a coal mine, went to war, then went on to be the most cinematic badass with the best name. For you guys and anyone else wondering, yes that was THE Jimmy Page. He did the score for Death Wish II as well. The Death Wish 3 soundtrack is basically a slightly modified version of the Death Wish II score. Michael Winner, the director of this and the first two Death Wish movies was Page's neighbor at the time and asked him to do it and with the recent breakup of Led Zeppelin (this would have been around '81-ish) agreed to do it.

In regards to DW2, Michael Winter, the Director, said "I'd lived next door to Jimmy for many years. It was a very bad time for him - the drummer (John Bonham of Led Zeppelin) had died, and he was in a very inactive period. (Led Zeppelin manager) Peter Grant and I made arrangements for Jimmy to do the Death Wish II score, for which he wasn't actually paid, because Grant wanted to restore Jimmy back to creativity.". Fun Fact bronson was a legit badass he enlisted in the United States Army Air Forces in 1943 during World War II. He served in the 760th Flexible Gunnery Training Squadron, and in 1945 as a Boeing B-29 Superfortress aerial gunner with the Guam-based 61st Bombardment Squadron within the 39th Bombardment Group, which conducted combat missions against the Japanese home islands. He flew 25 missions and received a Purple Heart for wounds received in battle. He was 64 years old in this film and could still run and climb buildings with no stunt double Acting career

The big gun he gets mail-ordered is a fairly rare Wildey Hunter, and it actually was the main actor's private property that he loaned to the production. Part of why they chose it is the odd half-rifle-half-pistol cartridge it uses, which is more "aggressive" than the caliber used by Dirty Harry, showing that they are "above" DH.
@baronobeefdipyes5181
@baronobeefdipyes5181 2 года назад
FYI a company actually revived the Wildey a few years ago and supposedly is making them again; I have done business with before, but some people haven't heard from them in a while since covid. I own one of their newer guns that I inherited from my grandfather, the .475 Wildey one he owns is technically slightly more powerful than a .50 AE Dessert Deagle with a 350 grain projectile travelling at 1396 fps with 1514 ft. lbs. of energy while a 325 gr .50 AE is going 1446 fps but 1509 ft. lbs. of energy. Mine is in .45 Winchester magnum (I have a video posted of it destroying a watermelon on the 4th) and a 230gr projectile is on par with a 240gr 44 magnum round. The neat thing with this gun that sets it apart from a Dessert Eagle or an AMT Automag like Dirty Harry uses is that the gun is not as ammo sensitive due to having an adjustable gas system which you can see Bronson adjusting after he loads up his ammo, which was a key selling point for the Wildey because you can shoot anything from light gallery loads to "high power" hunting rounds as long as the chamber pressure doesn't exceed around 50,000 PSI. I have some rounds that I make for mine when I take it to public ranges or have new shooters along that make it as comfortable if not more then a standard .45 ACP out of a 1911 due in part to the guns weight so people can enjoy the hand cannon experience without having to deal with all the recoil.

19:40 - The MG the old man on the stairs had was either a German MG42 or a MG3, while the gun Charles Bronson takes out of the armoire is a U.S. Browning M1919. When the old man showed Charles the M1919 initially, you could barely see the outline of another gun behind it (probably the German gun), and that gun is no longer there when Charles takes the M1919. Love the video, really funny commentary, MST3K style!

They filmed the final battle in London, in a real-life gang-infested area. When they were done they realized that all the extras had thick accents so they had locally stationed US-soldiers dub in the lines.

The reason Wildey gets hand loaded bullets is because the 475 magnum was never commercially produced. You would have to cut down a 45-70 rifle round to make the bullets. Also why it has an adjustable action. Gun info from a Canadian, lol.

in case no one has pointed it out yet, the gun the old man was using on the stairs (that was stolen) isn't the same gun he showed Bronson in his cabinet. That's why the other gun was still around for Bronson to take.

I'm not sure if this has been said yet, but the weapon that jammed at 19:08 is an MG42. A WW2 GPMG used by the Nazi's. The weapon in the cabinet is an American Browning M1919 (I'm not sure which variant) .30 cal machine gun. So while A weapon was possibly stolen, it was not THE weapon. EDIT: Weapon clarification

@@ThatsSiiiiick I mean, that's exactly why Sharknado and every other Syfy movie ISN'T "so bad it's good". It's not funny when you know the cast and crew are in on the joke and laughing their way through half assing it. The room is so funny because the director was genuine in his attempt, wasted so much money, and STILL managed to make such a disastrous flop. The secret ingredient to "so bad it's good" is SUFFERING, and GENUINE INTENT.

From my understanding, the director intended this to be somewhat satirical vs the first two films. The first film being fairly serious with the second being more of an exploitation piece (seek out the unrated version that was distributed in Greece for the second film).

This was f__king hilarious. I had to rewind a few times because you two had me laughing so hard. "His homie is holding the box", lol. This movie delivered in every single way, and Bronson even did his own running. Born in 1921, Bronson was indeed just shy of eligibility for Social Security when this film released in theaters 😂. Deborah Raffin passed away in 2012, leukemia. Her last imdb credit is for Grizzly II: Revenge, which looks like its about a killer Grizzly bear and strangely also stars George Clooney, Laura Dern and Charlie Sheen. 3.2 rating out of 10, could be something glorious(though probably not😂).
