We rode the black graded enduro MTB trails at Aboyne and they were damn good! There were some sizeable jumps (and one mahoosive 23 footer hit by Gav!) along with loads of other rock features and slabs.
The first MTB trail in this vlog had tricky features and the second was steeper with some technical off camber sections. We were lucky to be riding these trails in dry conditions but in the wet these would be a different beast! Lots of roots, rocks and slabs as with much of the riding around Aberdeenshire. There is also the Aboyne Bike Park near the trails which we didn't check out but seems to be more trail centre with tabletop jumps etc.
In general there is loads of riding in this whole region from trail riding to enduro riding to more full on DH type features. Plenty that can easily be ridden on a hardtail too although I find it more comfortable on the full sus!
Trails we rode in this vlog are:
Panic Button
Rattus Norvegicus
Brown Rat
We also rode Emasculation and Master Blaster (will probably put up a separate vlog on these). Emasculation (another black) was fast with less big features and Master Blaster is a red with more undulating sections and a bit more pedally in places. We parked up in the town and of course hit up the cafe after!
Riding here followed on from a day at Scolty Hill which is like a mini Canada in Scotland. A pretty gnarly set of trails and we have a separate vlog from there which is worth checking out as it's such a unique place! Link to the video here: • Scolty | Gnarly Squami...
There's a local Aberdeenshire Enduro Series with 3 rounds running each year across a few places like this. Hope you enjoyed this vlog and subscribe if you want to see more vids like it. We put out weekly content mostly with enduro riding and trails around Scotland and the rest of the UK.
