My wife was grumbling at me because as soon as I came out of surgery and woke up I asked for my phone so I could make it in time to be one of the first 30 orders. Not sure if I made it but I hoped I ordered all the right color and such. Still a little loopy from the surgery! LOL Thanks for another great video Phil!
I get that. Thanks for giving a review in its original form. Most other RU-vidrs ran it out of the box with some not even saying anything about the brass. You’re a good dude.
And one more thing! The other thing I like about your review videos is that you don’t hold any punches back. You call it how you see it and don’t kiss the manufacturers booty hole. I just watched a different review of that truck (no names) and he said the truck was perfect out of the box. “Just perfect” to only post another video dropping a 1100 reefs servo into it. Okay, rant over! 😂
The detailed shots and the epic 1-2 tonne towing test-talk about heavy lifting! No wonder your audience is head over heels for your work. Keep up the fantastic job, Tomley, you’re toeing the line between amazing and unbelievable!
I’d like to thank you mate for your videos. I used to race RC buggies in the 80’s and 90’s. Marui Ninja was my favourite. I’ve taken up the hobby again aged 50 as I’m now a dad (it’s an excuse that works for me). I’ve upgraded a TRX4M. Just stuck where to upgrade now. Your videos really help. Thank you mate.
Definitely the best review I’ve seen on this!!! Your unapologetic honesty ROCKS, and it’s a rare quality these days! Keep up the fantastic work, and keep enjoying yourself!
The undercarriage shots in the rocks were a nice touch. Crazy that it’s so big you can put a camera under there!! Makes it feel like a 1:1 off-roading video
Thank you for reviewing the real product instead of the upgraded one they sent to reviewers. Previously, my image of Rlaaro was one of being better than the average RC brand. I hope that they can do better to bring that image back.
Unfortunately they have let themselves down on the past releases with bad shipping times and non existent customer care, so it's certainly gonna take them a while to get back up there
Oh I’m right in the middle of nonexistent customer care with my order right now, so yeah it’s my last time giving them my money… Too bad the products are good and good deal, oh well 🤷♂️
Great video brother! RLAARLO really needs to get over themselves and stop trying to charge premium big brand prices for their non name brand products. RGT could build and sell this exact same model and it probably would be $100 less and better than this. Not to say it's bad, it's just priced ridiculous for a Chinese owned company with medium quality. They are legends in their own minds.
Always loved them Toyota trucks. Around 1979..1993. We used them in the rough work yard, delivery and everyday drivers . Even had one with a tow truck bed..flat bed dually...ect... Good trucks. First 22r..re's needed timing tenteners upgrade but was easy work.
Front wheel drive is beneficial if you blow the rear differential and want to get the truck back without picking it up. Rear wheel drive only is also used for the same but it can conserve battery also.
I just watched tip from a long time RU-vidr. To improve the steering. You have to go into the transmitter menu to servo and change the steering angle from 90 to 180 and then your end points.
Nice review, I agree the servo is too small for the truck But it actually comes out of the box with the right end points ... Its set to the wrong degree setting.. it's set at 90 degrees on the remote .. set it to 180 .. and the 70% end points it comes set on are about right 👍
@@TomleyRC It couldnt make it over a rock without blowing the rear end lol. Also mine is SO much louder than yours. So many issues and its kinda heart breaking as I had super high hopes for this rig after seeing yours. On a 17T pinion, mine only does 6MPH. I hope Rlaarlo corrects these issues.
13:19 Wow Phil! The swag! 😎 (it's what youngsters call it nowadays, right? 😝) I think it's a solid release from Rlaarlo. Great to see them venturing in the trail truck/crawler world. Competition is needed! I'd do without the seizuring light effects and the 2wd options though. Has anyone already seen what's behind that ugly angry grill? They'd get some more buyers if a regular grill hides in there. 😛 Really liked to see it rolling over stuff. Good video!
Have you seen the video from RC Review? He shows how to dramatically increase steering angle by setting the servo to 180° rotation. Easy fix in the transmitter.
Started watching your videos a few week back, love your videos, quick question, if a 58yr old kid wanted to buy a couple of RC drift cars for a bit of fun when his brothers call around, do you have a video of a model you'd recommend (reasonably priced) would be very grateful if you had a moment to send on a link, cheers love your honest reviews. Cheers Gerry
My only question is are replacement parts available for it ? I bought an rc recommended from a different channel and the tranny gears stripped and I can't seem to find parts.. it's an rgt ex86100 v2 also called the rock cruiser . Maybe someone can tell me bit I'm still bummed it's that hard to get parts
Kudos for for going the extra mile taking off the extras. Really appreciate the dedication to realistic reviewing. (Subscribed) Just bought a trx4 high trail, love it. That crawler is massive! 😮😮
I’m on the fence about it…. I’ve been saving my pennies for an Axial SCX6 and this gets released and I’ve heard about some nightmares about rlaarlo support and parts availability. I think I’m going to just keep saving my pennies.
I have to say I really like the MK-07. I like the Jurassic Park version too. I may get one when they do a brushless version. I like the way it rides, it seems pretty scale. I have the TRX4 and the SCX6, this one would fit nicely in the middle. Yep, a very nice model.
Based on my experience of towing (myself on a skateboard & kids in kiddy car) with a 1980's Tamiya Hilux 4WD you need to use a stretchy tow rope (even a couple of bungy straps would do) like in the Tamiya video to stop the oscillating/jumping behaviour. P.S. I really really wish I had kept hold of the Hilux now instead of selling it!
To me personally not worth getting the brushed version and wait on the brushless because I'll regret it if I had brought the brushed version knowing there will be a better motor coming out soon.
Super impressive. I am very likely getting one. I would like to see one with less features though. I like the 2 speed but there is no reason to have selectable 2WD or 4WD. Make it 4WD only with locked diffs. Basically, performance oriented. Not that this truck isnt performing well. Its just that with crawler guys, less features is more. Also, maybe a truck body option... like a Hilux.😁
That's why I love your videos, your so honest with the rc vehicles. No other videos that I watched said anything about not coming with brass an skid plates. I didn't know that. An that make a difference. Thanks for the knowledge. By the way, What kinda drone was that. I'm Looking for a new one.
Harley Designs showed in his review that you can kill carrots with the optional front pumpkin cover, he removed it because it's dangerous. Also, spares could be a possible problem apparently. However, it does make a handy recovery truck 😅
I like it and may have got one at that £500 pre order price but normal price will be nearer £700 and not for me any more! And you can turn the indicators off and have hazards instead!
I love everything about this rig except the knock off jurassic park paint. That has gotta be for a specific region. Can't see many westerners choosing it. I hope they make a huge Omni terminator next. I love large scale everything.
So I have ordered one of these to go with my other 7th scale vehicles and my first ever crawler even though I have beenin the hobby for probably fifty years, was looking for a second hand SCX6 but either way to expensive or way too rough, I will keep looking as wanted the truck not Jeep. So by mistake messed up the delivery so now have to wait 25to 30 days dumbass, but good price £414 so can wait, I have a Hobbywing bruxhless and a Rocket 8S ESC and Motor for 1/8th to spice it up not sure which to fit but did get the Hobbywing 8S for my FTX SupaForza GT to bring it up to the same as my Felony and ZD Racing Hoonicorn Mustang, went to order the Associated SR7 Hoonigon Mustang but as it is being recalled for what not sure so will wait and see. I have plenty of other trucks, cars and buggies along with drones to keep me occupied in my early retirement, yeah keep up the good work.
Well, in fairness... Rlaarlos 14 day shipping was taking 2 to 3 months on the last release, so if they pull their finger out on this one, you'll probably get it quicker than in the past lol. Be worth the wait as it's a decent truck
