Welcome to Episode two of my Custom Card reviews! Each week I will be looking at the top 10 most upvoted card over on / customhearthstone and giving my feedback on each one.
This series is of course heavily (heavily) inspired by @TrumpSC series in which he did the same thing, but I asked for and was granted his permission. I always loved hearing the Mayor of Value towns feedback on my cards I posted on reddit back in the day, so I thought it was only right to carry on the legacy and pass some of my own wisdom down!
I heavily encourage you to try your hand at making some Custom Cards and post them over on / customhearthstone

"Xamu, the Ready" should be able to attack and have Rush or Charge. It also should be the final form

You should consider some form of viewer submitted form. A lot of cards on CHS are upvoted solely because they're flashy/funny with zero attempt to balance or be realistic.

While I agree. I do think there are a lot of very well designed cards on the Reddit. Plus it’s where I got my start making cards so I have a strong attachment to it. I do like the idea of looking at viewer submitted cards as well though! Maybe in the future

@bionicdoor I'm not saying you can't find good quality cards there but as the video shows most of them are "cool idea on paper" first and balance second. A more curated source would probably have some more interesting cards.

You can always find the original post over on r/CustomHearthstone, there was just a lot of tokens to put here, didn’t want to overwhelm the screen or constantly switch what version was showing

Another great episode! While I personally disagreed a bit with your take on the first couple of cards, I very much share your opinions on the rest! Especially everything you had to say about Maestra was exactly what I was thinking and more! I really think you could fill a void that Trump left with this series, so I am very excited to see it grow! :D

I did nit pick the text box on Timeloop Voyager! Said it could say “Get” and not “Add to hand”, 1 star comment

I disagree on the design of Timeloop Voyager. The point of it is to have all the "conditional battlecry" effects. Keywords also rarely keep the identity of their original set when they are reused, this is similar to the amalgam that has a bunch of triggers to summon a 1 cost. The fact that it just says "do it again" repeatedly is amazing flavor too.

4:49 I feel like this could be literally any statline in regards to health? Like save some cases with stat manipulation/swapping, and targeting with spells, it’s health doesn’t matter, only the attack value if it get ya to swing. Like, it just bounces to hand, unless it can’t be attacked.

Kairozdormu is an Infinite Dragon here, a corrupted Bronze dragon. They want to fuck up the timeways by making things happen differently than they are supposed to, that's why it has the flavour of "past or present".

That patches is very dumb. It's free. You play a 1 drop and you get a free card, and this affect can be repeated for 1 mana. At no downside or cost to your deck. This is card would be played in every deck to ever be built aside from odd/even wild builds

I think as a legendary it’s fine powerlevel wise. And it does come at a slight cost, you have to run a lot of 1-Cost cards to really get the most out of Patches. I think it’s very strong yes, but not ridiculous. Just my opinion though

ehhh its spend 1 mana to draw a card tacked onto each of your 1 cost cards in your deck or you happen to get, its not free.

Patches is busted wtf ? First, it’s almost a free 2 mana 2/3 that you draw early. So 29 card deck, and a curve filler if needed. Or you can trade it for 1, and the next 1 mana card you play draws it back. You don’t even need that many 1-cost card, even with like 5 it’s already enough

if you see the custom hearthstone reddit xamu cards are joke cards from the creator it being bad is the point. when he uploaded it to the custom hs website they mad the stats even worse making final xamu is a taunt can't attack "enemy minions have poisionous" 0/25 stats.
