Apple released a new Charlie Brown New Year special, Snoopy Presents: For Auld Lang Syne. And I loved it. So here's a video essay about it. Music: Auld Lang Syne and Hark! The Herald Angels Sing by One Man Quartet.
I don't have Apple TV+, but this sounds like a really great special. Hopefully, one of my local PBS stations will show it for free (like with A Charlie Brown Christmas).
I'm so glad to hear about this! I really want to see it but I don't have Apple TV... Guess I'll settle for clips. I adored the movie a few years ago, my only gripe with it was that it didn't have a jazzy soundtrack.
One thing I really love about the new Peanuts specials is they give the spotlight back to characters such as Frieda, Shermy, Patty, and Violet again! Its great finally seeing their characters put to use in good ways again; and plus Shermy was one of Charlie Brown's best friends before he vanished from the comics too.
Wow, awesome analysis (also, unintentional assonance)! Nuanced and sincere commentary, effective and laidback pacing, and clear knowledge about the subject matter. This calls for more subscribers! And I am happy to help in this noble cause, haha. Happy 2022 and cheers!
Well, all of snoopy’s siblings except for Molly and rover cuz fuck them, I guess. I don’t know why they keep shafting the two of them every time we see an appearance of snoopy’s family in any of the episodes in the snoopy show or this special right here, considering that canonically, the strip has stated multiple times that snoopy has seven siblings, which is the reason why the team had to create those last two themselves for snoopy’s reunion, since up to that point we’ve only seen six of them appear in the comics in person. I know it shouldn’t bother me as much as it is, but everytinne I only see the six of them, a part of me gets a bit annoyed.
