I actually modded my gamesir X2 with a Peltier and heatsink. The only difference is I wired an 18650 battery to run it so it would be totally cordless after charging. It works quite well 😊
I actually used a Peltier cooler on a Pi 3b back in the day. It worked ok I guess, but I remember going back to air after awhile. Could've been the cheap Peltier cooler plate I purchased from overseas though. The small ones just didn't have the performance of the larger plates.
This is not the way a peltier device is meant to be used. It’s a gimmick. The tiny heat sink in there will get heat soaked within minutes and there is no thermal interface material between the cooling side and the phone. It’s horribly inefficient.
It is a good idea , but the fact you need to connect it , loose the whole purpose , if they can achieve to be wireless in the next iteration would be a success
Having a cooler is not only beneficial to the performance, but also the battery life. When phone batteries get hot, they die quicker. And the more they die, the worse the battery gets over the years. Having a cooler will keep your battery fresh for years to come. That's well worth it imo, even if other phone controllers are technically better
A definite no no for me. No analogue triggers is instant dismissal. Their latest model brings us closer to where things should already be. This one will likely be heavily discounted soon because of lack of interest.
Can't justify the cost for occasional phone gaming. I'll stick with liquid cooling. Blood is a liquid. And my hands are full of it. Built in circulation too. 😅
I have had a bad experience with the GameSir X2, were the type c connection started for fail with less than 20 phone inserts, was extremely disappointed I did get the bluetooth model and it has been fine
My GameSir X2 just broke :( The USB-C port doesn't work anymore for some weird reason... I haven't even used it... it just stopped working.... it doesn't even pass through power... I guess I'm gonna have to take it apart and fix it :/
my friend bought this one for me (or so he said .. he presented it to me .. and then kept using it himself) - but i find it a bit heavy to be honest. The peltier pad is useless because it needs a separate powersource .. the controls are good, but not as good as my older Betop G3. the main reason for the X3 on the Gamesir would be that they managed to put the usb-c connector to the correct side.
In min 2:32 a female voice says something like: everything is negotiation over time. What is that? Drove me crazy because, at first I did not realize it was from the video.
This ^ I don't know why none of these controllers include any sort of USB hub... A lot of them have USB-C pass through charging, but not a USB hub to allow you to use dongles or anything... Having a built in headphone jack would be nice and a proper USB-C hub would be even better.
I swear, this is true. I offered this exact same design and idea to gamesir. Of course I didn't get a Thanks but what you are seeing is my design The cooler, the layout exactly Lmao, I'm not kidding and can even prove it Anyway, I wanted a grip that could keep the handheld a lil cooler. I had the idea from the zero fan that connected to smartphones to keep em cool Anyway, I'm glad they made it at least
I think everyone has been suggesting them to put a cooler in it, including their own staff before they releasing the X2 version. It's just common sense since phone heats up during gaming especially the high graphic intensity game like Genshin
Why is finding compatibility for the Gamesir X lineup so hard, I did find that the X2 Pro is limited to the phone's SOC, but I haven't found the one for the X2 and X3.
I wanted suggestions for alternatives to the gamesir x3, for example without cables and with an integrated cooler and its own battery, any suggestions?
Can you drop the link to the drunk bot workshop? Or whatever it's called? I can't find it in the description. Also, I love your videos! You are about as through as it gets.
I've had the Gamesir X3 since release & today, I just got the Xbox Edition X2 Pro, but haven't gotten the chance to play with it yet. Which one do you like more, out of the Gamesir X2 Pro & Gamesir X3?
its a cool idea but the fact that it takes a separate power cable pretty much kills it. i guess it would kill the phone battery too fast? I still think it would be better to power it from the phone.. if it cant do that then it just seems useless to me..
I like that the controller has a built-in cooler but it needs a headphone jack since the backbone controller has a charging port and a headphone jack. All my android phones have a headphone jack but the controller needs to have a headphone jack since they all have a charging port plus having a headphone jack has 0 latency when playing games.
You know I live you and gamesir is one of my favourite controller but is nos.going to do anything to a normal phone,if it has some ventilation might help but a normal phone does not have holes so he can get the heat out
How come you never show what app you use to map the buttons? Did you use the gamesir or something else because I find the gamesir one to be a bit intrusive.
I'm curious what the phone alone would have heated up to if it had been propped on boxes so it had the air flow the game sir had. I could see that alone doing almost as much as the game sir
Thermoelectrics seem so overkill when the limiting factor isn’t heat transfer from the cold end to the hot end but thermal transfer from the hot end to ambient air
Ok, you mention these "micro switches", but you don't describe what they are, and why they are bad. Also, how did you realize it has these micro switches? Are they easy to detect just by pressing the buttons? I am looking for an android controller like this and this one looks great but you mentioned a drawback, which i've never heard of before. So if i'm not sure what it is exactly and if it will necessarily be a problem or not, i can't decide whether to buy this or not yet. Can you give me some insight?
Did it say if the joysticks are potentiometer or hall effect joysticks, and how big the dead zone was? also dont really understand cooling the phone using the back... 90% of the cooling of a phone is sent threw the screen (the phones are designed so they wont overheat inside a case)
Bought it for $74 and it's awesome. My phone no longer heats up playing Genshin for hours. The mapping is the best compared to other 3rd party and I prefer microswitch for R2 and L2 button (because I only play RPG games and not FPS or racing). But my unit is not a prefect one, the analog stick on the right is drifting sometime. Not always but it has its moment. I want to tear it down so I can blow some air on the analog part but there is still no teardown video for X3 so I'm not gonna take a risk to open up this controller
Same here. I bought this controller coz I love playing genshin impact using rog 5s. It doesn’t heat up anymore compared as before. I’m so happy for my purchase.
The review is not complete.......can we charge our mobile simultaneously??? Or not ?? Does it require one wire itself or is there any other port for charging
Gamesir x3 is really good, but it lacks the accuracy of the left thumbsticks. Is there a way to make the accuracy of the thumbsticks at least equivalent to a PS4 controller? Thanks
I initially got mad cause I bought an X2 Pro Xbox on release day, and got it just in the end of last week. But seeing as the d-pad and triggers are inferior, I calmed down lmao. I wish there was a way to cool with the X2 Pro, since I have an Exynos S20, and it gets really hot really fast
