I have a 2011 Honda CRV. Other than the oil consumption this has been an amazing vehicle. Recently my driver side door lock locked up on me and now my ignition switch is going there too. Dealership wanted $2,230 to replace them. Do you know of a good source for parts and is this something I can accomplish without a fancy computer to reset the locks. I haven’t worked on a car since before all this computer crap, back in the 80’s and very early 90’s. I’m an ex mechanic, retired after breaking my neck.
What did he do to you? If you watch his past videos you will know that he trashed Ford/GM as often as he did to Kia/Hyundai (actually he trashed Ford & GM more often since they were on the news more)
Ace is pretty good. I remember going to Ace in the early 00s to get a key for an 88 Beretta that the actual key was worn, the guy went out to my car, jiggled the key, went back, did a few more cuts, back and forth a few times. Key worked fine for the rest of the life of the car. I think the key cost $2. Last time I needed a house key the stupid machine at Wal-Mart wouldn't cut it, don't understand it's just a standard key. Ace did it. $3.
It isn't only the car industry that will see changes. The entire country is about to see massive changes. And those changes could cause massive suffering.
For a SUV EV, 190mile range is for LOCAL driving...No one is doing road trips with a 190 range(70% of that is the real range), and charging for the next leg. You're also likely going to do more tha 75mph,! so its worse than 70% of the 190!! WASTE of resources and everything else tied to it! SAD!
Scotty you sounding like you losing your voice you speak 24 /7 need give your voice a liitle rest hope you feel better scotty take care of yourself Scotty cheers 🥂
Ceiling fan 🤣 my old R22 Central Air runs all day on 100° days. I can understand promoting more efficient Air conditioners but fans 🤣🤣 ridiculous. I like democrats but what we have in office now came from circus rejects. Air conditioner uses more power than 100 old ceiling fans get real. Steam powered 🤣🤣.
Well, the one thing Brandon didn’t change was Donald Trump‘s heavy tariffs of product coming in from China so it’s cheaper for them to send the cars from Europe because they don’t have as highest taxes as China does coming here
you know..... all this EV negative from todays mechanics reminds me of why I gave up my shop........ when they 1st started the computer control system and emissions! many of my friends quit too......... cost of computers scanners back then...$$$ and then you had to buy each module per manufacture .... emission testing for 20k that became obsolete when the states finalized accepted testing reporting and the list went on and on..... even the dealers would have to buy new diagnostics every year until the feds stepped to standardize (supposedly) the obd2 port! keep in mind.... the 1st year cars had computers was in 1981...... and standardize obd2 came in 1996! 15 years of crap until they figured it out...... and EV world may take as long too!
I remember taking a car to a local shop. Then they couldn't afford all the computer crap because they were honest mechanics. Forced to close their shops. May God bless the honest mechanics .
@@billybarnes9208 yep...... and many that didn't or couldn't afford the diagnostic's that stayed opened started the (Parts throwers) mechanics....... just throw parts on it until something hopefully fixed it! before those days of computers...us old real mechanics.....could diagnose most of the cars when they drove on the lot! I know Scotty would agree!
"Elon Musk spaceage crap", totally agree, completely non intuative rubbish. All drivers should be able to get into any car and be able to opperate it straight away....you try doing that with a Tesla, terrible design!
Also the battery x2 smaller and less weight, the insurance is as cheap as combustion engine cars, the price as well and charging station is not that expensive. .....and there is people who can repair them .
We need a battery brake through not just for EVs but for the grid as well. Electricity price just keep going up and up... Ai (which I am not a big fan of) is just going to push it up higher. 26 years ago I paid 8 cents a kw... now I pay 75 cents. I did my own solar house system installation cost me 6k ... if someone had done it it would have cost 26k. I would like to say i put it on for the EV environment but that is not true... I did it because I know it would save me thousands of dollars over the life of the system. If we can get a battery that lasts 1 million miles and can go 1000 miles on one charge the ICE car is all but dead. I think we are 10 year (at least from that). Once we get that, a person will only need to buy one car for their whole life and only have to change things like wipers, lights, and tires. It will be awesome because an EV is crazy fast and they can have a crap ton of torque with those DC motors. Oh and they have to figure out the tire problem on them. I have heard some folks have to get new tires every 5k. That is two set a year for most. At 1000 a pop.
Love you Scotty, and will continue to watch. But it's not about an extra 39 bucks for you. It's if the 10's of millions of people got them, and also remember it's per fan!, that it will reduce everything. Where does the fan get power? If you have say an average of 3 fans per house, and you get 1 billion people to all convert.. think about the impact. But, as an individual I get the gripe.
Still an illogical argument. Ignores the carbon involved in fan manufacture. Ignores the extra carbon I produce to earn the dollars to purchase the fan. Ignores the extra dollars required for installation and the carbon burned to create those dollars. Seems stupid. I take yr argument about volume. But the volumes of carbon created must outweigh any perceived advantage
Ev's just won't work out. Hybrids is obviously where it needs to go. Why are these car manufacturers forcing ev's when everyone wants the much more practical hybrids?
I'll never be able to justify buying these cars, nor be able to afford it. Where is everybody getting all this money? I just bought an 05 corolla for $1k with 271k miles that runs great (for my teenage son) but I would have no problem driving it myself. I'll probably have it for years and years. I bought an 08 Vibe for my daughter in 2018 who turned 16 in 2022. It had 180k miles and now has 215k. It drove so well, it was our family car for those 4 years.
@@direwolf6234 Ever heard of Cash for Clunkers? The government used taxpayer dollars to take millions of perfectly serviceable older vehicles off the road. It gutted the used car market and drove up the price of vehicles by 30-40% under the guise of "environment". The EV push is no different. Incentives for new vehicles and mandates against gasoline cars. Using taxpayer dollars to make taxpayers poor by driving up the cost of ownership (and maintenance). People complain about inflation and how new generations can't afford anything but no one seems to realize that it all started with Obama's policies. Look it up.
Google quote: "..... on August 2, 2010, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd. (Geely) of China acquired Volvo Car Corporation (Volvo Cars) from Ford Motor Company for $1.8 billion ....." BTW, Ford, through management incompetence, nearly destroyed Volvo.
Chinese military adventurism will become a hot day in Hell. They want a conquest to be the new world order. Slicing up the lower 48 per russia pact. Mokba gets Alaska back. Pathogen releases are microbial shock troops.
I will buy Chinese invested Volvo any day over American owned GM, Ford or Chrysler. Ford nearly destroyed Volvo. Now Volvo is back and is one of the best luxurious cars made.
Well........not all of us like not having a local shop to have your warranty and service done! you know...... like a tesla..... oh.... yeah drop it off at the closest center 200 miles away and have your friend pick you up only to make a return trip weeks away! I'm weird... I kind of like it in town.... where I looked at it... drove it.... and then buy it!
@@davidsucesso2419 I'd buy tickets to see Don Henley vs John Mellencamp in a Cage Match to the death. Two of the most miserable human beings I've ever come across.
how about getting the Volvo worked on... maintenance. and all that, you forgot to talk about it or you just didn't choose to...What about it is it better than tesla's maint. program.
You get a one year warranty and you’re lucky if it makes it. I bought a new a/c. To help make the seer rating, they put a rectifier in the blower motor. Which contains relays and capacitor. well the first one lasted 3 years, replaced the whole motor $300 ,that one lasted 2 years, bought just the rectifier $130 that was a year ago.🙏 That’s 3 electric bills. The previous air handler was 25 years old I use it now as a stand alone heater and it’s the original ge motor and capacitor. I doubt in the 30 years it used $430 dollars worth of electricity with free labor and the inconvenience.
1 Corinthians 14:1-33 verses 29-33 are the key verses. If prophets are no longer for us today why does the new testament tell us how the prophets should operate in the new testament church? So prophets, and prophetess are still for today. As far as what u said about stealing a prophecy u are right on, even in the very scriptures I'm providing it tells the prophets that they all can give a word, and that word may be the same or different, so all prophets can prophecy, and there is no writt😢 prophecy in scripture that's a private prophecy , meaning if it's written in the word u don't need a prophet, or prophetess to interpret it, because it's given for anyone to interpret or understand.
99.9% if the time the blinker is blinking fast because either front or rear bulb has low resistance. Usually a filament burnts out and reconnects reducing resistance and you get the fast blinks. Do not change the flasher relay - change one or both bulbs.
lol Teslas are the only ones that don’t look stupid. For some reasons manufacturers think an electric car can’t look like a normal car it has to look stupid.
