The question is not "are E1s and S1s worth it?", but rather "are E1s and S1s more worth than a new character?" In my opinion rarely, it depends on the budget you have and on how much you want the up coming characters.

"I love Topaz, her E1S1 is absolutely worth it" "Also this character has been out forever and I don't have her damaging traces maxed out. Maybe I'll do it eventually." I don't even. What.

Depends what you mean by worth. If picking up a Light Cone or Eidolon means you miss a certain character - like let's say you picked up E1/S1 Black Swan, but that meant you couldn't guarantee Sparkle or Acheron, was it really worth it? Is that E1/S1 Black Swan going to carry you better than also having Sparkle or Acheron? Even if that's a yes, that's only one side. Each player should judge for themselves where their account is, what they're lacking, and how many resources they have to spare, because there is no _"yes, it's worth it"_ or _"no, it isn't worth it."_ It depends.

HSR is balanced around E0S0 and has been since launch, there is no indication that this is changing. Powercreep of new characters like Acheron is outpacing any HP and difficulty increases in MoC. When I hear Iyo recommending eidolons and signature LCs, I know that he is doing it from the perspective of PVP and 0 cycles. For a player like me who doesn't care about that, I'll keep spending my jades to get as many characters as I can.

I can see why some people think eidolons and sign LC is more worth than new characters. No matter how many character you have, you can only bring 8 in endgame content. Meanwhile if you have eidolons and sign LC, you practically bring more than 8 characters. It can helps if your relics aren't good enough to clear endgame content.

It's simple: Build Playstyles, Not Characters. I saw the "end" of single target dps when I started back in early February. So, I'm sitting pretty well, not worried about skipping Imbibtor Lunae, JingLiu, and Acheron*. I play Break, Mono-Dps, D-dps DoT, and FuA teams. If I want a hyper carry, I have Jingyuan which is great since he is an Erudition and has no problems with mobs. Team Compositions > Characters. I have way more fun with the game that way and it gets my strategy juices going. But I do believe it'll be worth investing in 2.0 - 3.0 Hunt characters as a hyper carry or Dual-Dps as they will definitely eclipse, they're 1.0 predecessors. * Acheron isn't a hyper carry like normal a hyper carry would be, I agree with Iyo on that. but non-E2 does feel like it sometimes with her team limitations.

As a F2P who wants all the characters, I fully embrace going E0S0. Only played for about a month so I’m soon reaching MoC/Pure Fiction but if that means missing out on the last few levels for rewards, I’ve learned to be okay with that.

Interesting you say E2S1 Acheron wasn't necessary, but imo I don't think any eidolons or signatures are necessary. This game isn't balanced around having eidolons or signatures if you can use a team that matches well into the enemy team. As for me I'd never pull for any signatures or eidolons cause I think it's more fun to have a larger diversified roster that I can experiment with, even if it might theoretically make the game harder. It's a turn based game and crafting the perfect teams into the specific enemies is what is the most fun for me, and I'm a firm believer that if you make your teams well you don't NEED E1 or S1 for anyone even if they have "problems" in their kits. Sure you can hyper-invest in a few characters and probably brute force a lot of the content, but to me that's just not as fun especially in a turn based game (also I hyperinvest in a lot of gachas i play so I wanted to try something different this time and I've been enjoying it a lot). As for building characters, you really just need to be efficient with it. You say it takes 1-2 weeks to build a character, for simplicity's sake let's just say 2. If we're building one character per patch (probably how much f2p gets on avg) thats 4 weeks left of the patch where u can do something else, whether thats farm for relics or building another character (like a 4 star). And yes I'm very well aware that relic RNG absolutely sucks in this game but a big thing is, farming for everyone's signature sets is a massive TRAP. A lot of the times the optimal signature/planar is only a few % better than an efficient farming option. You can fully gear out a character 90% of the time with just relics from 2 caverns, Messenger/Longevous and Prisoner/Duke. You don't NEED to go farm for their signature sets since in the end its just a few percentage points better DPS wise and the better substats (and just having the correct mainstats) will more than make up for it. Similar deal with Planars, despite how much people say NOT to farm world 3 anymore it's still by far the most universal world and you can gear almost every character with it. World 7 is also a great one albeit less universal, but World 7 + 6 can cover most of your characters (though I think synthesizing World 6 is better since Belobog set isn't great). Another thing is you don't need a relic set for every character. If you have 10 DPS characters you won't be using all of them at the same time. You don't need 10 different god roll pieces, you just need a few. Got a 35CV piece? Great, you can use that basically on any character that can somewhat make use of the set.

Ultimately it's not worth it imo. If you really like a character you'll probably enjoy them more with their lightcone, and thats probably the only time I'd recommend someone get a signature LC. Other than that, you dont need a sig LC to clear fights, and youll get more new/unique content out of another character than you would from a sig LC.

You are really gonna die on this hill lol, I will always disagree with this, you don't need s1 or e1 to clear content in this game, of course you can if you like the character or the certain team or if that is how you play the game (smaller roster stronger characters) but everything is beatable with e0s0, of course with a bit more time invested, so don't feel pressured to summon if you want to have more characters like me and you like to play the game that way, in end of the day you decide if it's worth it or not but don't feel pressured about it

IMO, LC sign is always worth it but eidolon is depends, i think eidolon for support is worth rather than dps - you can use LC sign to different char - not all eidolon is good (for example seele e1 just add 18% cr) - scaling dmg is not change drastically even you get eidolon - new char usually get better eidolon effect - a char playstyle not always fit with recent enemies - ...

In a gacha game, vertical investment is usually such a waste considering power creep. Remember how much people hyped Seele up as the peak of dps? The game is only a year old, but how many times has she been power crept? Imbibitor, Jingliu, Acheron are all better than Seele, and the pulls spent on Seele eidolons could have gone to getting a wider range of better characters, and this doesn't only consider dps all classes in the game have had powercreep. Even Acheron will eventually be powercreeped, so no one should really worry about needed her eidolons. Its SO much better to have a variety of good options rather than a single broken E2S1 character that will be surpassed in a few months. Not to mention, the price for every single eidolon/lightcone is a whole ass character so it's just nowhere near worth or ever even necessary to have. Even strictly meta wise a good new character is so much more impactful than than any eidolon/cone those could make you clear like a cycle faster while the right character could let you beat it to begin with.

I see where you are coming from but star rail is not hard enough to need vertical investment so for the most part I think in most peoples case horizontal investment is just better because more a characters = more fun. That being said Topaz is also one of my favorite characters so I might pick up her lc anyway.

I have e1 fu, e0s1 topaz, s1 jing yuan, e1s1 acheron + a lot of e0 5stars. All while only buying monthly pass. You just need to focus your account on what you want/need. For example i knew that the topaz/jing yuan cards were unreplaceable for my acct. so i planned, E1 fu would just make relic building easier and so on. On this game if you know what your acct needs (realistically) and plan a bit ahead you can get what you want all while low spending.

I guess it comes down to strength vs variety. Most people want more variety so they can swap characters out and try new things which means pulling for characters. But there are limited slots on the teams you can use at one time so you’re spreading your resources thin because you can’t use all your characters at once. And by swapping characters out all the time you’re not learning to play a single team really well. If you stack the most valuable eidolons and lightcone on your strongest characters then you can bring all that strength into battle because your resources are concentrated on only a few really good characters. But that means you don’t have as many options to swap things out and try new things, you’ll mostly be using the same team most of the time but it’ll be really strong and you’ll learn to play that team really well. I have the same problem that most people do, I want the variety to play around with. But I love my dot team so I pulled Kafka’s lightcone second time around because I struggled to find a lightcone that I was happy with for her. I also love Clara as a character but I’ve struggled to use her effectively, I keep hoping they’ll release something that synergies well with her but have found that most things so far have been underwhelming, so perhaps I should look more closely at my Topaz. So concentrate on dot team, or follow up team, or hypercarry team, or break team but you can’t have them all and have them be strong.

Classic iyo L. okok, it's a joke, but I still disagree that people should, NOW, invest in topaz. While people should get lightcones for their best supports (Powerpuff girls mainly), that investment is wasted on topaz. Maybe, half a year ago, i would have agreed 100% but with what we know now, I can't honesty recommend that to people. Let me explain, it is now evident that not even supports are immune to powercreep, bronya got powercrept by sparkle, and Ruan mei got a side grade in the form of Robin. I think topaz is in the same situation hanya was, an amazing support with a gimmick no one else had making her an amazing support... and then we got sparkle, with the direction things are going we will get a GIGANUMBY in a couple of patches (not a leak) that can do FUA and also help increase the teams FUA damage by deploying a dimension (like mei's) or debuffs all the enemies on the screen by debuffing them. The FUA team rn depends on 3 characters dr ratio, aventurine and robin; rather than a e1 s1 topaz, people should invest in robin and save for now, maybe invest in the future break team or another set up.

I never really understand why so many CC recommend sig LC but also say "you don't need to 0 cycle." I'm still missing Kafka, Ruan Mei, Sparkle, Fu Xuan, and maybe Topaz. Do any of y'all day 1 players have all these + some sig LC without spending a ton of money?? I took like a 6 month break, but still seems like the math don't work out

I went for E2S1 Acheron, but I did it because of you Iyo - I agreed with your point about Acheron being the first sign of an HSR meta shift, so I went into her big time as my only hyper carry team via Sparkle. My other two teams are FUA and DoT, that's it. I'm only investing in those three and ignoring break teams, and hoping that with those three teams I'm covered for all game modes and difficulties.

This depends on what kind of player you are, If you are someone that is completely F2P to the point that getting a E0S1 character means you have to skip another character, then no it's not really worth it. Pulling characters so that you have full elemental coverage>pulling for Eidolons and Light Cones. The only time pulling Eidolons and LC's are worth it is if you have full elemental coverage and even then it's a big maybe depending on how strong the eidolon's are. Pulling for Eidolon's and LC's honestly shouldn't even be in the same category given how expensive pulling Eidolon's can get if you lose the 50/50.

The only signature LCs I have on my account are Acheron’s and Sparkle’s, and even on teams where I don’t use those two, I’ve cleared all the content in the game and all stars in MoC and PF, Swarm and Gears on the highest difficulty etc. I don’t think you’re required to get signature LCs, I had basically everything cleared before Sparkle and Acheron even came out. You just have to build and play smart. Even my DoT teams are all using 4star cones on Kafka/Swan/Ruan Mei, and there’s no issue. I also don’t have eidolons on any of my non standard 5stars.

I pulled e2 acheron because of how future proof she is. She already covers every need the game has and her dedicated support hasnt even come out yet. Additionally my only team before pulling her was DoT and i already had other supports that are geared towards hypercarry so it only made sense for her to become the dps that completes that team. Next ill probably pull huhuo to complete dot team, maybe firefly for break team and then just focus on vertical investment as reruns come. Think ima skip the FUA teams

I leave the lightcones for the reruns. That gives plenty of time to build, gear, teambuild and lean to play the unit. If after all that I still really like them but feel like their power just aint there yet I get the lightcone. Topaz is going to be the first lightcone I actively pull for, I have a few others from insane luck on random pulls.

Ok my question is. Is it necessary E1S1 or even just S1 to clear MOC in the cycles needed to 3 star it? if not then I'll skip it and save that for Firefly or Jade

There is no definite answer if e1 or s1 is best for every character, you have to read and understand that characters kit, then make a decision based off with whatever you already have in your account. dam this video came right on time. thanks for the insight on the rewarding topaz investment to perorm at her peak...i currently have a 74/191 crit ratio on my topaz with the herta lightcone on the 4 piece follow up set.(relic luck kinda bussin) and ive been wondering if i should try for topaz signature cone. i think im convinced to go for it. i also got our boy aventurine ipc emergency lol and plan to get jade. i cant wait for your take on Jade bro

I agree with you on this one, I'd rather invest into my two mains teams rather than summoning exclusively on characters that I may or may not even have the time to build. Investment advocating is important for those that really want the most out of their dps 🙂

You need e2 acheron to get e6 acheron, also the tech behind e2 acheron is hyperspeed, her damage output is so high that you barely even need crit stats to begin with. Getting 4 to 5 ults per cycle is an insane game changer when played differently. Also, e2 makes break effect acheron a monster capable of doing more damage than a crit scaling acheron because of how fast shes getting her ults on hyperspeed.

It took me all of a month to realize E’s and LC’s are massive in HSR. Which gives you more reason to invest in your favourites, but also makes pulling for anything a waking nightmare for F2P. But like, a fun nightmare, if you play the game as a game and not a collector sim. I’m thinking about foregoing Robin+Topaz and instead going for Topaz and her LC, not sure if her LC is better than Robin as a FUA support (compared to Sparkle/RM) though. Great editing by the way.

With so many of the signature light cones, I feel like an essential part of their kit is being "locked" behind that. For example, I pulled Fu Xuan but opted not to pull her sig LC. I've regretted this ever since because it makes it very hard for her to be a solo sustain in high-end content without the ability to heal for more than her default, very low percentage heal. So, I agree with the sentiment that these can definitely be worth it depending on how much you're willing to personally invest into the game and what you're looking to get out of it. Typically I will limit myself to not pulling for eidolons to keep my spending in check, but if a LC seems like it's going to make a big difference in a character's kit now, I will go for it. I am also an adult with a steady and decently-paying job though, so I feel like that's an okay decision to make with my money as long as it's not stopping me from being able to pay my bills - which it's not.

I just want to know how good is robin to someone who mainly uses Blade and Acheron a lot. My supports are Huo Huo and Aventurine and my third spot is a flex. I want Jade since I don't have any erudetion characters built up.

ive been investing into light cones since topaz came out and it was the best decision for my account as a f2p, especially since i was just lucky enough to get all the characters i wanted even while losing 50/50s i have an insane kafka swan team, and ipc emergency with signatures outside of ratios(i was saving for e1s1 black swan at the time) the only time ive ever skipped a light cone for a dps or an insane support is when i know i want to invest in another character in the near future

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the 24% crit dmg from Topaz's lightcone applies to ALL of her teammates attacks not just FuA right?

I regret one decision ever since I started playing Honkai Star Rail. For some context: I have easily cleared every MoC and Pure Fiction. I cannot top-up in my country as it is prohibitively expensive here. I do pay every single month from day one the Express Supply Pass and I have also purchased every single Battle Pass up to date. I don't go for Eidolons since my luck doesn't permit me (outside of a very, very lucky extra Silver Wolf I got at pity 7 when she was featured for the first time). And I do go for some LC's but alas, only won a single 75/25 to date. The decision I regret was not pushing myself and getting Jingliu's Lightcone when I had a Guaranteed. I used that to get Ruan Mei's LC but since I won her 50/50 I could easily had spent extra passes even if I had to go for another 75/25 I sadly cannot foresee the future so there's that. I could go now for Jingliu's LC but I have built my account decently enough to not need it anymore (Acheron + LC and all her premium nihility supports and a Sustain built Welt). So, if I could give one piece of advice for people who live in stupidly expensive countries like me, it is: Always prioritize your hypercarry units LC. This will not only save you a lot of trouble if you want to complete hard content but somewhat help with the artifact farming hell that is every Hoyoverse gacha.

Ngl, the only consideration of going E1S1 Topaz is if you use Dr Ratio with Topaz just to get 3 debuffs reliably and arguably Dr Ratio does the same performance in a Hypercarry or Dual DPS comp with or without Topaz.

Indeed. Eidolons and Signatures are worth it if you want to extend a unit's relevant worth to past, present and future units. It will make who you pull have more immediate presence as well more lasting effectiveness. A new unit may not end up being as impactful as a recent unit with more vertical investment. This is typically the case when you already have 2 or more teams ready to go. Now, some dupes and some signatures are more valuable than others, so there isn't an absolute rule for x dupe/signature vs. y unit. You may have to think about it some at times.

I feel like it is assumed that i have enough jades to get e0s1 characters, when it is simply not possible when you told to pull every character and get every character s1, we got sparkle Acheron and now aventurine which all are “must-have” characters, then there is topaz/robin and fu xuan/boothill, new harmony unit and sustain, there is no way of getting every character and their s1 without spending and not everyone wants to spend money. I just think this is very important to assume when explaining your opinion on e0s1 pulling to new players which there are lots of due to anniversary

tbh i like to see how much i use the character before getting the lc the only 2 characters who are exceptions are dhil and firefly bc i knew straight away how much i want to use them so i'd only recommend lcs/eidolons if you see yourself going for this character a lot and you still love them that much unless you really love the character that much that you just know you're going to use them everywhere i'm not going for jingliu's lc bc idk i might not use her as much as expected with firefly coming this also applies to supports and sustains i'm going for e1 huohuo on her rerun bc huohuo changed my entire acc to the point i feel more comfortable with her than anyone else and that 1 curio makes me really want e1

Majority of the boss is weak to either Fire or Imaginary although I'm never pulling on topaz I believe she's worth it depending on your team

As a 1st day clara haver and hard user of her, id just want to point out that march + clara isnt as good as it seems. To make it short, March very frequently freezes the characters that are supposed to hit clara

heres the thing i have topaz e0s0 i was planning to get her s1 for the fua team but it just happend that robin is BIS for FUA teams so do i get topaz s1 or i get robin i think robin is way more of an upgrade to s1 but thats imo

Bruh an E0S1 Acheron alone cost me 200$ because of both lost 50 50 and 75 25. I ALWAYS assume the worst outcome regarding pulls and I watch leaks of certain characters to plan ahead. I pay money if i WANT a character, but that doesnt mean i just want to throw it at the game at any cost. I get what you mean and it is painfully obvious with Acheron, because there are basically no f2p or 4* LC options. Characters just feel better and people in general want a shiny new toy than only the best toy once. Regarding team compositions, i thought the same way since day 1 and always went all in for characters i knew, that are hard to power-creep (Fu Xuan, Aventurine, Ruan Mei etc.) Basically supports/ sustains that have universal aspects. Also they mostly dont need their SigLC and work really well with alternatives too (GeppyLC for Aventurine for instance)

while I'm not an expert, I personally think getting the 3 major traces of each character guarantee's more dmg or improves a characters kit. My example is Acheron. Before getting 6th ascension and the 3rd big trace, my dmg with her was ok, decent but not great. When I got her 3rd trace, I unlocked another part of her kit, and dmg increased a lot.

I think if a characters e1 or s1 have a impact on team dmg and synergies with others it's worth to pull. Like e1 black swan or ruan mei e1 Kafka e2. For dps I like to pull for s1 if I have a good one for another dps like I have nearly no good 4 star nihility lightcone for all of my Characters so I got her lightcone to push my other nihility characters because I can more optimize my other characters. Also SP gain or manipulation of speed or action order is really awesome like bronyas LC or Ruan Mei. Also I feel like I can't build that much characters because of the resources the game gives me.

With lc, there are 3 types to consider for me. Theres stat stick and theres mechanical. Vast majority of dps lc are stat sticks. They help even out stats and do more dmg. Its great, but you can do the same with farming. But mechanical lc changes how the dps operates. Topaz lc for example adds a debuff that enables her to add ratio without a nihility cuz the total debuffs they produce on their own is 3x, enough for ratio. This enables you to put a ruan mei or a sparkle w.e. that helps buff them further. Opens up options. Archerons lc falls into that category ish, cuz it lets her get ult quicker, but again, isnt necessary, you can prb improve that with team building lol so to me, i only go for a lc if its mechanical in nature. Stat sticks are luxury that makes building and dmg more comfy without having to think too much. Like i aint getting boothills lc for that reason. If it had break efficiency i woulda got it.

I have E0S0 and she works perfectly with ratio. E1S1 is for situations where the enemies die too fast, hence not needed

I started out in Jing Yuan's banner and focuse on 2 teams as well (Yanqing team and Clara team since those were what ai got). Skipped every other banner.

I prefer to perfect 2 teams than have a half dozen mid built characters, I get a bunch of enjoyment from vertical investments. Farming relics and the rng there is just ass, being able to focus is so nice. I only have monthly pass and i got e2s1 seele, e2s1 sw, e1s1 fu and e0s1 sparkle for mono quantum And e2s1 acheron while i save up for the fox nihility in a few patches, hoping with investment he can replace a sustain properly for a scarily strong team

For me why I haven't pulled any eidolons or signature lightcones is that I haven't had time to get enough tickets. In total my account has had 440 tickets(reasonably 4 limited 5* characters) available to spend and that is just barely enough to get 2 clearing teams for both MOC and PF. I would recommend pulling only E0 characters until you have teams to clear both MOC and PF and then you can do whatever you want. Also when simplifying enough all eidolons and limited lightcones do is increase damage. Even the ones that give utility you use that utility to do more damage. But with good team building and relic investment you can get enough damage to clear everything. Eidolons and lightcones just get you there faster, so I don't really see the need to spend on them. Over all I'm not against eidolons or signatures, just the pressure to spend money to get them. With some patience and faithfulness you can give your waifu/husbando what she/he deserves, in the meantime they will manage with the care you put into the places you currently can(relics/talents).

If you follow this strategy you need to specific playstyle like dot, nihility, hypercary, FUA, dual dps etc. The amount of characters you cam pull will be limited so the quality of pulls needs to be higher.

I have E0S1 acheron, I am very satisfied with her DMG. I even get her on my simulated universe runs that are not nihility centric, just to make the mob clear faster, and even without any other nihility unit on the team, she still does her job of big dmg, she is just crazy.

I'm a f2p and I got Topaz on the initial banner because I wanted the character. Did not care for meta since I was clearing MoC full stars. Gonna pull for her LC since my S2 swordplay isn't really working too well and I need more debuffs for Ratio and I really enjoy follow-up comps. I have a guaranteed saved up since I lost 75/25 on Acheron LC banner to Geppy LC (which my Aventurine uses now). The only times I will pull on a LC banner is if I have a big number of jades/pulls saved and when there are useful 4* cones on the banner. I've been pretty lucky since 2.0 so I have lots saved. I also want the new nihility 4* LC.

I'm a day 1 player and I have not pulled for any light cones until acheron and I have been clearing all content. A variety of characters are better than eidolons up until you have your established teams imo.

I always see character for what they provide at e0s0 Some of the recent characters have their sig that are so good and the character basically needs it to feel "complete" which sucks imo Same issue is in hi3 where you basically NEED the sig gear and hsr is following the same path which i hate

Me personally, I just pull for whatever I feel like and deal with the consequences afterwards (usually by blaming it on bad luck) I will say tho, I do try to look for synergistic charcters. Example, I like Acheron and her unique debuff playstyle. So in that case, in the future I will look for characters that I like that can fill that role, whether it's another nihility unit or someone who just has debuffs in their kit. Another example: I like Aventurine but unfortunately I couldn't get him (lost 50/50.) But now I know to look out for more follow up attack dps/supports, like Robin or (hypothetically) Jade. And since I know I will be able to skip Boothill and Firefly, I can probably invest more into Robin, like either E1 or S1 (and then if I get unlucky there I can just save guarantee for other units I need, or if I end up actually wanting characters I intended to skip) I'm mostly f2p, I bought BP trying to get Aventurine, and well let's just say I'm basically going to hard pity with scraps. I'm making the tough decision to skip him for now and just going all out for Robin to make up for it, like I explained above. Am I gonna regret it? Probably, I don't have any limited sustains. Do I care? No. Okay, a little bit. But remember, it's fault of bad luck, not me. (Trust)

My thinking is that you need at most 2 teams in this game. Maybe a few substitutions for PF / other scenarios. Afterwards, I’d rather invest in eidolons / lightcones to make my current teams the best they can be, because I detest having to regrind relics / traces / levels etc.

see i agree with what you say about Acheron. The reason I did it was because i took a break from the game after Jing Yuan's 1st banner. So i was missing Nihility units / investments. Chalking up getting Acheron E2S1 to being lazy so you can use the same characters after saying Eidolons and LCs are good for w/e reason is kind of wild (Then he says what he says a bit after 32:00 and kind of contradicts this, especially in Acheron's case because you don't need to build a whole other specific type of unit). Literally all the Eidolons are for "Comfortability sake". You don't need ANY of the shit, and that ranges all the way down to the worst 4 stars in the game, because all of them let these characters do more of what they want (In Acheorn's case ulting, and in DHIL's case getting another EBA3 without tanking your SP economy) more often. Such a ridiculous take in the middle of talking about why doing this exact thing is good, and if getting hers makes you lazy, getting ANY of them makes you lazy. Why slap an insult on vertical investment while trying to talk it up?

I would like Topaz but the next patch has boothill (undecided) and then Sam/Jade and I am already stretching it wanting them. Let alone E1/S1 Topaz. So I am skipping her. I got Acheron and she was the first character I got S1.

Okay so for me rii off rip I haven't gone far in the vid I'm still 3 mins in Imo I have strategically aligned my account in a way where I have 2 teams and these 2 teams are the teams I focus on greatly (Acheron/Kafka) And with the way the meta is shifting e0s0 ain't gonna cut in the long run So whenever I see any of my fav or important characters reruns I always try to snipe at least 1 form of upgrade And since I love nihility Any other type of nihility follows the same rule This allows me to pull for only nihility Keep making use of my fav characters and reduces the stress of building multiple characters cuz now I can just focus on 2 caverns Debuff and dot Hope this helps (Day 1 F2p btw it's just my strategy)

As someone who mainly pulls for characters I like, I can fully admit that my account struggles because I don't have Fu Xuan and/or Luocha.. Two incredibly powerful sustains that make late MoC stages so much easier to tackle. On the flipside, though, having E2S1 Acheron is an insane upgrade that I've been able to clear early MoC, at all. I feel like I'm literally cheating because she's as optimal as she can be (yet). Edit: About Acheron at 18:45, lmfao you right; That's EXACTLY me xD So while I'm still an advocate in pulling for whomever you want, I would also urge players to pull for characters that will make their playthroughs and endgame that much easier (especially if they aren't looking to sink time into theorycraft/playtest with non-meta teams). Like for example, I don't like Ruan Mei as a character, but her kit is just too damn good to pass up. ETC Etc

regarding the e2 acheron comment and as an e6s1 acheron haver, i do indeed just leave my game on auto unless im doing endgame content. my ai doesn't like me so i have do a bit of timeline correction. edit: i do auto regardless, im lazy.

I kinda find it comedic that I was falling behind in the game because I have a sickness of "try new stuff" so I spread my resources a lot. But now whenever new mode or mechanic comes in I have semi-built characters that are ready to go with minimal push. Happened with Pure Fiction and Himeko (fully built) and Herta (semi-built), will probably happen with the new mode as well. The approach also made me way more aware of game's mechanics beyond "buff this one character to kill the boss". Welt was my choice for 300 pulls on standard and I still don't have Bronya. Why did I do it? I just like debuffers in strategic games and Welt is one of my favourite characters from HI3rd lol

Ultimately, it fully depends on the character. Some characters like Jingliu will not need their lightcone but will be better with it. And then you have characters like Acheron who become monsters with their light cone. I have an E2S1 DanIL, and he can clear any content the game can offer in 0-1 cylces even without imaginary weakness. From my experience, most characters don't need their first eidalon, so if you're pulling, go for E0S1 or E2S1, E2 is usually the characters best eidalon before E6 (on dps characters). Harmony characters are a different story. All of them are absolutely broken. If you can get an eidalon, then get it

I'm happy to say I didn't E2S1 Acheron for lazy reasons. I did so that i could rapidfire ults with Acheron, Pela, Black Swan, and either Sparkle, Robin, or a Sustain.

Intersting video. I play since end of december 2023. Not F2P but not a whale too. Maybe a fish or small dolphin. At first it wasn't easy to set the right priorities. I made a few mistakes but overall it went pretty well. First I set up a DoT team: Kafka, Black Swan, Ruan Mei as the core. Huohuo is still missing and is currently being represented by Luocha. The vertical investment couldn't be very high. No S1, by luck & coincidence Black Swan E1. But the team works and is fun. I actually initially thought I didn't need Acheron -Nihility & Lightning again?- but her colorless breaking abilities convinced me. It soon became clear to me that the Acheron team could destroy everything in the game. So it became expensive because I invested vertically: E2S1 Acheron, E2S1 Aventurine, Sparkle E0 S0, Pela E6. And the team is wonderful for Swarmdesaster, Gears, MoC. Since then I have been planning according to the motto quality over quantity. 2.2 is skipped completely. I don't need Robin, Boothill or the reruns. But then I'll invest a lot more in Firefly. Also because I like the character. So I'm totally on your side. At the beginning of HSR you have to invest more quantitatively, but from two teams onwards it is IMHO better to invest more qualitatively. At least it works for me. I have fun. And will inverst more in my DoT in the future. Maybe after Firefly. (But also waiting for a 5 Star Pela...)

Agreed E2 Acheron is total bait. Though I think the main selling point is being able to bring an action forward harmony plus a sustain while still maintaining The Abyss passive. We already have Welt as an alternative for fights we can finish before his lack of true sustain runs its course (usually fine in MoC if you can turn skip dangerous enemy abilities), and there's a healing Nihility on the horizon. Honestly her LC is a bigger boost than E2 especially in the long run.

this is going all in to enable a singular FUA unit though : dr ratio. what if a better fua unit comes in that doesn't need debuffs ? instead of E1S1 Topaz maybe an E2S0 sparkle is a better account investment. E1 Clara's skill is the strongest aoe skill that you can spam in the game once you have the mark on an elite and so sparkle works so well with her.. more skill, more energy, more ultimates more counters and all the counters are buffed by sparkle. Sparkle also allows tingyun/lynx to skill almost every turn if needed

As someone who has had e1s1 Topaz since her furst run (very luck pulls), I would only recommend her at that level to boost Ratio specifically. Ratio + e1s1 Topaz is basically a compete team that kills pretty much anything in MoC regardless of who else you slot on the team with them. For other follow up units, though, Topaz feels more like a side grade who gives you a similar value to a more universal 5 star harmony unit like Sparkle or Mei at e0, so I wouldnt recommend her in that case unless you really love her. She does go nutty when paired with Himeko into fire weak content, but Firefly is also around to corner if you want a strong 5 star pyro dps.

E2S1 Acheron is revolutionary since the unit that gives the most flower stacks per instant is Acheron. Bronya sparkle advancement focus in on that and make them the best units to give Acheron ult stacks above any other nihility character (less necessary with E2 as well). If the complaint is that the game is too easy with this particular set of light cone and eidolons it is questionable to expect people to spend on eidolons and light cones that have more complexity. If you have to pay to work hard why not just not pay and work hard or pay and not work hard. It is cool to have an epic combo and super synergy but at some point performance matters. Ex march 7 is better sustain for follow up team since every turn can get up to 3 follow ups but adventurine who does less follow ups is advocated for on the robin team.

If you need her light cone for her to be good, that sucks.

As a E2S1 Acheron haver, I'll agree with Iyo here, it was totally out of lazy comfort and liking the bankai lady ^^ I'm transitioning away from a Daniel team because I found it boring as hell, so I already had a nice Sparkle and being able to use her in the team sounded nice. This being said, I'm also really happy I was able to switch in Gallagher as an debuffing support and I'm looking forward to new and returning Nihility characters to flesh out the team and play around with my options (my Nihility situation right now is horrible - another reason I went E2). At the end of the day, what I like in this game is being able to build a team with situational replacements for specific enemies/modes, and E2 Acheron allows me to do that alot more than Daniel ever could. The other team I have is Follow up Attacks and switching around Clara, Himeko, Ratio and corresponding supports depending on the content is something I love.

Grow a tree fully to help build a forest. Build a character that focuses on a thematic mechanic (FuA, DoT, Break, etc.) and know what your account needs. Just understand, investing in a character's E1/S1 will limit what you can pull as f2p in the future. (Ex: I got E0S1 Acheron, missed out on Aventurine and might miss Robin). Also, as F2P you have to have good relics and great understanding of your teams' mechanics

There's a reason I run Mono Quantum with Xueyi. Silverwolf gives 100% chance of quantum weakness, fuxuan keeps them alive while sparkle buffs up Xueyi which lasts until her next turn, so if there's a follow up trigger, you get that crit bonus. Always find synergies in the teams, for the first 6 months of the game, Clara and march never left each others side through any content. I'll still bring it through every so often for a G7G run. Normally I'm running them with Asta or Yukong and a flex slot for weakness. It's a dream team. Hopefully 5 star march is jsut a buffed version of herself, that kit is fire.

I got an e2s0 aventurine, and a e0s0 ratio with LC garuantee and 50/50 garuantee but no pulls… I want an fua team, so who do you recommend I go for? I was gonna go for robin, but topaz seems entirely irreplaceable for fua teams

With Topaz & Robin running at the same time my question is (as someone who currently has neither) would e1s1 Topaz be better or e0s1 Topaz with e0s0 Robin be better? I have Aventurine & his sig LC & plan on grabbing Ratio’s LC in the future. I have Bronya’s LC that I can run with Robin as well as meshing cogs. I was also initially planning to grab e2s1 Fu Xuan, I previously got her at e0s0. But I don’t know if getting her e2 is even worth it anymore considering in SU DLCs she always dies, even with 9k health & 2-3k shield from Aventurine. Even with a curio that heals her every turn. I got her for SU DLCs so my question is e2-ing her even worth the ‘investment’? I’ll still get her LC for MoC

Only time I got eidolons for 5 stars is the rare 2 in one 10 pull or the dreaded 50/50 loss with himeko and frggin bailu. Still no geppard or clara though really would love a permanent selector atleast for the standard banner.

Personally, I will always defend getting the signature light even on supports. Unless were talking about someone like luocha or huo huo who have multiple good options. But if the utility of the light cone is good, s1 over E1 anytime. I do like early eidolons for people like ruan Mei or Robin. Dps eidolons id only get if I like the dps that much. Personally tho it feels like an insult getting a dps eidolon. My love language for a character to is get them and their light cone, even if it's trash. I never touch eidolons, they have the opposite effect for me

I'm playing from the beginning of the game on 2 accounts (both most of the time have blessing and 5 battlepasses acquired). On one i tried to get ALL GOOD CHARACTERS. So i have Seele, SW, Luocha, FuXuan, RuanMei, Sparkle, Argenti (accidently) at E0S0 and E1S1 Jinglu and E1S0 RuanMei. Second one was to mostly pull pretty tall female characters (i thought Kafka will be bad, but still wanted her, so started second account). Now my second character has abysmal 25% 50/50 winrate and has E1S1 Kafka, E0 RuanMei, E1S1 BlackSwan and E2S1 Acheron. And with additionally Himeko, Herta and Bronya built on both accounts. And... my second account can clear MoC 12 and PF4 easily from BS release. I'm missing only great sustain (but no pretty tall lady on sustain role for now, Natasha is bad sadly), while i strugle with MoC12 and PF on my "main" account.

Bro I agree with most of the video but E2S1 Acheron is more for flexibility than anything. Speaking for myself. It allows me to slot in more options to have fun. I'm not sacrificing damage just to try new comps and future characters. It pays to not be limited as heavily. Regardless, if it will hurt your bank account don't pull. Each account is different. I personally never tried hyper carry so she's my first. I get how it's addicting but I will say my topaz-ratio team is still just as fun and at times more fun because it requires more thinking and planning. Great video bro, keep it up!😄

I was going to try and get e2 Acheron but changed my mind. Don’t need it love my swan, pela, chevron, and adventurine team. Just going to wait for a 5 star nihility that does more with like attack or defense drop besides silver wolf.

i feel personally attacked. i e2s1'd acheron and it is game changing. In my def tho, im f2p other than acheron and dont have sparkle, ruan mei, kafka, danny IL, or fu xuen. which pretty much makes it impossible to follow any "meta" builds and a busted acheron finally let me clear moc 12 after like 8 months of banging my head against the wall. but at the end of the day, i was in love with acherons trailer/story which made me swipe and was planning on e1s1 but I got stupid lucky and e2'd with the rest of my leftover pulls.

I run E0S1 Acheron with E1S1BS E0Kafka with fermata and Aventurine with trends. For this team, I'd like to get Kafka LC. In this team I'm not just focusing on Acheron. Kafka and BS are dealing tons of damage too, while still helping Acheron. I don't necessarily want to run Acheron as a hyper carry. I would of course increase Acheron's personal damage, but I would lose damage from Kafka and BS. They seem to work great together with Acheron. I like their synergy. I also really like that Kafka's FUA (depending on enemy that is attacked and if he has or not shock) also gets a stack. It will be even better Kafka personal damage, and faster stacks for Acheron when Kafka will get her LC

I believe it's essential to also consider return on investment. For instance, if you acquire the Light Cone and the Eidolon and progress from defeating MoC 11 to consistently conquering MoC 12, given the current rotation, you'd earn yourself 60 Stellar Jades every month (or a similar reward). So, while I understand the appeal of investing vertically for the satisfaction of strengthening your account and achieving higher numbers, what's the point otherwise? Personally, I prefer acquiring new, enjoyable characters to experiment with. Admittedly, they may not always be optimal, and in the worst-case scenario, I might not three-star MoC 12 every time, but I think that's acceptable. At least it's more fun thant waiting two patches between pulls.

I feel as though the loghtcines are worth it but as a f2p it's honestly impossible to expect to get em with the low amount of gems unless you save for months and vertical invest. Last day of the banner and I want jingliu lightcone for my destruction unit but honestly it ain't coming. Now I'm skipping all banners for firefly

I think if you have a caracter at e0 it is fine no need to pull for idelons if you pull for topas e1 sure you get more damage but she is useless if the Enemy does has fire weakness you can skip her and get another character that might help you in that situation if i skip her maybe i can get sam better in every scenario not in 1 ‘’ Only apply if you are f2P ‘’
