Inspired by the Love of Jesus Christ
Verse of the Day (as related to the topic of this video):
"Blessed [spiritually prosperous, happy, to be admired] are the poor in spirit [those devoid of spiritual arrogance, those who regard themselves as insignificant], for theirs is the kingdom of heaven [both now and forever].
Blessed [forgiven, refreshed by God’s grace] are those who mourn [over their sins and repent], for they will be comforted [when the burden of sin is lifted].
Blessed [inwardly peaceful, spiritually secure, worthy of respect] are the [a]gentle [the kind-hearted, the sweet-spirited, the self-controlled], for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed [joyful, nourished by God’s goodness] are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness [those who actively seek right standing with God], for they will be [completely] satisfied.
Blessed [content, sheltered by God’s promises] are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.
Blessed [anticipating God’s presence, spiritually mature] are the pure in heart [those with integrity, moral courage, and godly character], for they will see God.
Blessed [spiritually calm with life-joy in God’s favor] are the makers and maintainers of peace, for they will [express His character and] be called the sons of God.
Blessed [comforted by inner peace and God’s love] are those who are persecuted for [b]doing that which is morally right, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven [both now and forever].
Blessed [morally courageous and spiritually alive with life-joy in God’s goodness] are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil things against you because of [your association with] Me. Be glad and exceedingly joyful, for your reward in heaven is great [absolutely inexhaustible]; for in this same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” - Matthew 5:3-12 (AMP)
A movie I highly recommend: The Gospel According to Matthew (starring a very animated and engaging acting performance by Bruce Marchiano, who plays Jesus). This is a word-for-word adaptation that has a unique take on the body language and charisma of Jesus, and also makes it easier to understand and quicker to read the story. I am hopeful that this movie gives you peace, love, hope, security, comfort, and answers, as it did me, and continues to do to this day. God bless you.

Let's be clear though, please do not sacrifice a basic financial foundation for a romantic partner. There are a lot of people, young and old, who end up stuck with abusive partners because they don't have the money/skills to leave. Sometimes it even means their children are stuck with these abusers too. Marge is simply lucky.

Yup, I once knew a girl who gave up a full ride scholarship for college over some abusive idiot "Christian" guy who was heart broken she'd move out of state. Big poop... I've been with my girl for eight years now, and if she somehow got a full ride scholarship for college that required her to move out of state, then I'd encourage her to pursue that, not hold her back, because that's just how much I love her. Hell, even I wouldn't give up a full ride scholarship for anybody, and if somebody tried to hold me back for something like that, then that'd be an I opener for me about that person whom obviously doesn't love nor care about me enough.

I always thought of success as being able to focus on what you love without having to overexert yourself. This video gave me a new thought provoking perspective of what success means. You could argue that success means realizing you have the freedom to make your own choices as opposed to feeling like life is a series of ultimatums.

Oh, for your next video: can you do one on the 'Danny Phantom' episode called "My Brother's Keeper"? This episode, to me, felt so relatable now as an adult. And I recommend checking it out.
@1rossmcmillan
@1rossmcmillan 2 года назад
Why is it so relatable to you?
@kenrickbautista6141
@kenrickbautista6141 2 года назад
@@1rossmcmillan good question. And here is my answer: Danny. He asked himself why he is so depressed & angry all the time, he loathes being called a loser and he is tired of people (and himself) dumping on him. Oh, and he doesn't want to talk to his sister. Which is one of the things we go through on a daily basis. If you pay close attention, you'd see why. The more you look at this episode, the more you can relate to the protagonist.

@tracycharles4895
@tracycharles4895 Год назад
@@StargazerYo Late, and it's probably years since I last watched it, but I still remember it quite well. Danny is going through a difficult time mentally (although in the cartoon, it was because of the ghost). Getting hit with depression is something a lot of people can relate to. I think the most realistic part was Jazz. Jazz has Danny's best interests at heart and tells Danny to share with her if he's struggling. But he doesn't, he snaps at her, pushes her away, even though deep down he probably knows Jazz loves him and wants to help. But he's frustrated and depressed. In real life, this is what a lot of people go through. When we are struggling, we often struggle in silence because we either don't know where to go for help, don't want to be a burden, or refuse to believe we are struggling. Pushing loved ones away and isolating yourself is a big symptom of depression. Danny, depressed and tired, and not wanting to open up to his sister mirrors what a lot struggling people go through with their loved ones. I agree with Kenrick that it was a great episode, and one of the most memorable ones from the cartoon. I think at the end of the cartoon, Jazz finds out about his secret and gains better understanding of Danny's situation. She then is able to help him secretly so he struggles less. Shows that opening up to people who care does help at the end.

in my opinion, you've lived a successful life when you could achieve as many of your life goals as you could, and now having all the free time in the world. similar to being a father if you have children, it usually means you've achieved most of your life goals, and now you just have to sit and wait while seeing other people grow, achieve their own life goals, be happy, etc.

Aristotle said that happiness came from productive activity that is consistent with your nature. People need to feel as though they are contributing. Building something. Making progress towards a goal of some kind. And they need to do work that is compatible with their own abilities and preferences. That's it. Do good work that matches your personality. Make progress towards goals that are well-chosen for you as an individual.

Weirdly enough. I feel like I'm in the most successful position of my life...so far. I've lived a life being so utterly subservient to my family, worked really hard to live on my own, and took quite a few risks. As a result, I live on my own, have a car, a job I like, and excellent internet, an amazing gaming laptop! *A decade ago, I'd think I made the big time. This is paradise to me.* Something I wanted when I was a kid was a romantic relationship. When I was a teen, I wanted to become an animator, so I could share my thoughts with the world. As an adult, I wanted to become independent, so I could gain my parents respect, meet new people, and see new places. Nobody would tell me what to do anymore. What all my past ambitions have in common, and what I'm missing in my life now, is someone who completes my life. I'm not (necessarily) looking for sex. I'm not trying to become rich per-say. I love being independent...but something is missing. *Someone is missing.* I have family, I have friends. I don't want to get married or anything...but if I got married to the most wonderful person on earth...even for a day...that'd be the best day of my life I think. Could just be another unsatisfying goal. Could just be getting jaded and denying myself. I'm not sure anymore. Being alone kind of sucks like that. Nobody tells you what to do anymore. If my parents taught me anything, it's that marriage was the biggest mistake of their lives. They're still together, and apparently still love each other. I don't want to make the same mistake of being in a broken marriage. I just wish I could find someone worth taking that chance. Dumb bullshit, I know. I don't want to raise kids or share my responsibilities, or for any partner to tell me what to do. I'm so aimless and unmotivated. I don't think I even deserve love. I think I'm just lazy. Maybe I'm just tired of trying to make bad marriages work. Whether I choose a bad marriage or a good life, I'm alone.

My girlfriend unlike me watched this whole show growing up in her abusive life and she says that Lisa is actually the dumbest person in her family and Bart is the smartest. She said getting good grades and being pretentious isn't smart. Bart willing to try so hard and still failing shows true smarts, effort is better than just being naturally good at academics which to be fair most jobs don't give a shit what your grades were. She also said the show is shit now she's an adult because it's literally just another abusive family show because those parents are both abusive, Homer is full on a dumb abusive man and Marge just looks the other way which is abuse

Another amazing video. Success to me is knowing that you've made a positive influence to something or someone. Heck it could be a whole community. People think that money and attention means success mostly due to the media and demands from society, but those can only last so long. A positive change made within your own way is that feeling is something you will hold dear. Then as when you finally lay down to rest, you can die smiling with no negative feelings or regrets.

I’ve always held a similar standpoint to what you talked about in the video. Though initially I was a severe people pleaser, I’ve learned I’m happiest when I help out others, even if there is the slight let down that the benefits of the deed don’t directly come my way, I know it helped someone out there. I feel like helping others is something that almost always leads to happiness, and that another aspect of it is knowing your own boundaries. I work a job I love and know people I like too, and I know when I can’t do something or when it gets too much, and people are luckily able to understand that now more than in my youth. Success should make you feel content with where you’re at to at least some degree, otherwise, what’s the point in chasing after that way of life?

To me, sucess is confort and freedom Confort of having your needs meet, freedom to do what you want, without people judging your every move. The freedom to explore different things, do whatever you feel like doing and knowing it won't hold you back. Giving the confort to others, that you will be okay, even after they pass away. The confort your life will keep going on, even if misfortune follow you And I think we have to do it ourselves. Because if others just give it to you, without any work behind it, it isn't your success.

Everybody has a different definition of success, and it’s a powerful word. I have spent most of my childhood chasing a stupid dream that my 6 year old self or whatever at the time believe I was told or what a career aptitude test gave my in high school that I chased into college. But now that I’m out of college and working in a field I never imagined going into and playing video games, I’m made friends and memories that’ll last a lifetime. How does this tie back into success? While it may not be what me as a kid wanted, but I find success as me being happy with people who love and care. Nothing can ever replace the friends I’ve made who became a second family to me, even after tragic events such as the passing of my own father in the last couple months. It’s shown to me that loyalty and teamwork defines success to me. Even if I don’t have money or fame, being with other people is my success.

"Success isn't what you have, it's what you give" sounds very nice and simple, but I don't think it's as clear cut as we might like to think. There are people in the world who are expected to give more by virtue of who they are, and I think it might be worth asking the question: who? For example, women. Marge does not tirelessly work for the well-being of her family day and night because she wants to, or because that's what gives her life meaning, but because that's the role given to her by virtue of her existing as a woman during the time of her upbringing. The creator of this video seems to see this Simpsons episode as an uplifting story about Lisa learning what really makes life valuable, but I see it as an absolute tragedy. Marge was shown to have been so bright and have potential but was ruthlessly shuttled into a position of domestic servant by a system that views women as having only one purpose. So, at the end of the episode when Lisa hugs marge, but gives that little worried look to the camera, the worried look is the thing we should take note of. This worried look is Lisa essentially realizing that because she exists as a woman, and because her family cannot provide an escape for her, she is more than likely doomed to end up just like her mom. And sure, you can say that she'll be happier when she accepts this fate, but why should she have to? Will Bart be forced to come to the same acceptance? Has Homer ever been forced to? This episode is deeply sad, and I'm not really sure why you chose it to try and make the argument that success=sacrifice. I don't necessarily think that sacrifice is a bad thing, but the story this episode is telling seems to be, if anything, a critique of that idea. Or at the very least a critique of how society decides who has to sacrifice and who reaps the benefits of sacrifice. Even removing the gender roles from it, what we're left with is a story of a young person realizing that their dreams are DOA and that they're doomed to live within the same vicious system that eats dreams and ambitions, leaving only a husk of the person you once were. I appreciate you trying to spread a positive message my dude, but I think this is not a great way of doing it.

Completely agree with the "time for myself" guy. When I first started university I talked to myself saying "I'm going to do this and get a job to get rich" but then I realized that I hate this mentality. For me being successful is have a job that gives me the possibility to spend happy moments with my friends and family, and keeping my passions. The bonds that bind me to all the things I love in life are the most important things, even when I had a lot of money I didn't feel happy because what was the use of all of that If I was alone. Ultimately yes, successful is subject, many of us are completely different and value different things.

The problem is that most parents are treating children like their clones, pets, ways to be financially successful than human beings.

If i have to answer the question "what a successful life for you ?" i would probably say... (and that's a thing that will never change for me for all time i think lol) is just... "living". by that i mean doing what YOU like, don't care about people's thoughts, be humble, and enjoying your day with friends, danse, gaming, series, your free time, but also working and making money by what you like (for me it's art), cause work is a thing that will be on our life like all the time before we die, so a life is even more successful (for me), when you like your working haha, but even if you don't like, if you like your family, your friends and husbands, then... yeah you have success, 'cause for me society just convert us to beasts who only know to work, so if you know appreciate your life even with bad/good work then yeah, congrats !

The way I see it, you're successful when you beat the system. Whether it's the financial freedom to do what you want, or the inner zen you achieve and being happy with who you are and where you are regardless of what society tries to push on you.

I’m In High school and I already know what I wanna do with my life but I have no idea how I’m gonna get there😂 but I don’t think I have to know right now. I already know what my dream is in life and I feel like that’s more than most people know and i’m still a kid. I don’t need to know everything right now nor do I want to

We can't define someone else's success. All we can do is work for ours without harming other people. My success? I say making the female lead in my novels known everywhere.

I say do whatever you legally can to make you happy. Though i hope lisa doesnt end up like her mom since depression is a rather smart person who just chooses to throw away their potential.

i agree alot of money will give me freedom and i would want it, so i can take classes and learn and travel and experience life. but eventually it would become hollow because the best parts of learning things and doing things is sharing your experience with others. an example of what i mean comes from a few basic questions. how many times have you gotten excited by sharing your hobby with other people. how many times were you excited to share your knowledge on any subject that's brought up even if it were a small factoid. how many times have you enjoyed hearing someone Elses stories and opinions on things. life inevitably finds more joy and meaning from giving and taking the expression of stories and knowledge with humor and laughs to soften hard stories and to celebrate good stories . this is my basic opinion you live and share life with those around us and the most important and deep meaning lessons are usually shared with those that we are closest to us, the ones that have earned our trust and compassion .

Some people can give all they can spare and never feel that success because the people they give to spits in their face. Just imagine if Lisa found Marge doing the schools laundry and said “pft I better not end up like you” then walked away.
