I love Euler's disc. I remember the first video you introduced it to us in. You're right, it's somewhere between mesmerizing and anxiety inducing. I believe that it's that inbetween state of moving faster, right before it begins clicking, that makes in a bit of an anxiety agent, but the sound it makes early on, especially w/ the clicks that give it sort of a feeling of a vinyl record being played, that makes it really satisfying.

With the speed he plaid it, the sound reminded me of an old 70s alien movie... like a probing scene from Star Trek.

I teach highschool technical theater and you are a great inspiration for me and my students. So much of what we, as technicians, do is a mixture of atmosphere and technique to create magic. Seeing the way you drop into character when you picked up the candle is a nice reminder of the skill of mixing acting and technical technique

Hello Chris, my son’s mind would be blown away with the Claw. He’s currently in his 3rd year at CCS majoring in film to become a director. We watched your ‘Cold Opens’ video, I stopped each bit before the explanation and he nailed a few of them. If he got one of the Claws from you at some point he would definitely use it in one of his film projects. He loves that kinda stuff, as do I. If I had a dollar bill maker I would make enough until I could buy a $100 bill maker. I met you briefly at Magifest, I did get to hang out with your very cool partners in crime Eric, Wes and Alex aka Alice. Super CoolDudes. You guys rock!!

My middle school science teacher used a larger, simpler version of the mystery stick. He made it out of rope and a pvc tube, no fancy way to take it apart but still mind blowing to all of us. He gave it a fake nickname which I learned from a google search is really common for people who make these to do, so students can’t easily look it up :)

I have a habit of painting the laser cut wood kits as I’m assembling them.
