Break off trap hole triggers on any link summon, including your own. Considering that all Traptricks are immune to Hole Normal Trap Cards, break off trap hole becomes a one-sided board wipe. All you need is any monster to summon Sera.
Yeah I've been the victim of that on Master Duel and I absolute agree. One of the main weaknesses of Traptrix is the fact your plays have to be reactive. If your opponent went first and already built their boards, all of your trap cards that react to summons suddenly become useless. Break Off can be triggered by yourself ridiculously easy and clean most monsters to force your opponent to rebuild, making them vulnerable to your other trap holes, so it helps a lot to solve that issue.
Does this make it as good of a "going second" option as "Evenly Matched" in a deck that NEEDS to go first? 3 Ash, 3 Nibiru, 3 Evenly, 3 Imperm, 3 Break-Off? Traptrix might just be able to go 2nd somewhat competitively with that going into the side board if going first...
I love the concept of the archetype alone. Baiting an unkowing victim into a trap for some nice meal using cute girls? Hell yeah sign me up. Hoping they get more better trap holes. Their monster lineup is already really solid, just need more better trap holes to go with it
Been playing it in Master Duel. It’s basically always torn apart by everyone playing Branded but it is interesting to play. It feels like have decisions to make

Konami knew what they were doing... I like that their name has "trap" and "trix" in it because I can pretend that all the monster cards are femboys or transfemme. It's become my favorite archetype just because of that.
(The Phantom Knights of) Shade Brigadine is a better Parallel Exceed with Sera. As a normal trap it gets you another Traptrix, which allows Sera to set a Trap Hole
It's still a staple, but I think it's been power crept by the new trap monster card since that one is searchable and doesn't care what's in the grave to activate.
Traptrix was the first deck I made my self and I simply love how it plays the feeling of watching your opponent light up as their Barron negates your bottomless trap hole only to watch it all break apart when you flip witches strike never gets old also they're so Cute.
I would've mentioned Torrential, as it's a must play for the deck. It being a Normal Trap means it triggers Sera, but all of your Extra Deck monsters are immune to it, meaning it's essentially a reactive Raigeki under most circumstances. Also Shade Brig seems like a no brainer, although it's arguably been powercrept thanks to Holetaea (although some may argue there's merit in playing both).
I would like to mention a recent tech card called Baromet the Sacred Sheep Shrub. Its a generic rank 4 earth plant xyz monster with 1900 attack and 2000 defense that takes 2+ level 4 monsters to make. It has two effects. Its first effect is by detaching a material, you can shuffle 1 normal trap from your grave into your deck to draw a card. Its second effect is if you activate a normal trap outside of the damage step, you can detach a material to special a level 4 monster from your hand. I see this card as an honorary traptrix monster and it combos well with cards like Traptrix Holeutea.
Break Off TH can actually be used by the Traptrix player themselves. While you can pull it off via any Sera summon, the ideal strategy is 1. Summon Sera and Raffi with Raffi one space to Sera's right. 2. Summon Cularia. As now Raffi is co-linked, she's inherently safe (not like she needed it), all of your other monsters are safe barring off theme cards, and your opponent loses all of their monsters. The sheer amount of times I've done this in MD is criminal.
@@274mercury You do if you want to trigger it your turn, as even if you Set it by an effect, you can't activate Break Off unless you do it through Rafflesia's effect. And if you are doing that, it's technically a monster effect (Raff's) mimicing a Trap, so your girls won't be immune since they're only immune to Holes or Traps in general, not monsters pulling a trick to act like Traps.
There is a character in the OCG Structure manga that uses traptrix deck. She is nicknamed "Traptrix Ageha" for bringing traptrix to world championship.
Traptrix was the start of my control journey. Now my favorite control deck Dinomorphia and Labrynth but I’m so glad Traptrix is getting such good new supprot
One card thing I think would work well with this deck is lady labyrinth of the silver castle since it special summons itself if you activate a normal trap and whenever you activate a normal trap you can set a one with a different name from your deck plus while you control a set spell or trap it can’t be targeted or destroyed by card effects
fun fact for break-off trap hole, you can activate it when YOU link summon, for basicaly a bit worse torential tribute that works with the hole support
Plus, you can XYZ it into Time Thief Redoer, giving you at least one quick spin and succ off your opponent's deck. If your opponent runs the Crooked Cook Exodia game, Redoer easily ruins it.
Funny thing for synergy… this deck is a Manga deck as well in OCG Structures Manga and very recent, as Ageha’s deck… well one of them as her kit, with Time Theif related synergy
You can make Traptrix either way. I have beaten lab going second. Its all about ur extra deck. It's the most expensive part in master duel. I personally run the crossrose/rose dragon trio that helps with board breaking. I run an abyss dweller and Tornado dragon to help. Redoer is a must. Borrelsword is my personal finisher.
Not just the main deck and xyz, the links also have stat with 800. I still don't know why they make this a thing, but ok. Sera 800 Colaria 1800 Atypus 1800, 2800(with it's effect)
Transaction Rollback + Vesi or holeutea is crazy, making your hole traps viable even in the gy since both of those cards will send tollback to the gy for you, making the gy effect live whenever you need it.
What happened to the "Explained" part? Usually GN explained the inspiration or meaning of the cards which is what kept me coming back but lately it's just talking about their effects and combos. This was the perfect video to explain the name and what the plant/insect does IRL
I used to run 2 Break Off Trap Holes since it was a monster clear to my enemy if I simply summoned Sera, but when I copied the effect with Rafflesia, she destroyed herself, since it was treated as a monster effect, rather than a trap card. Still, being able to clear a lot of the enemy monsters easily made me consider it running it along with Witch's Strike, so if they somehow negate it, then Witch's Strike triggers and clears their whole board.
The issue with Traptrix; their actual combat power. Managed to get out one Buster Blade, and proceeded to beat a guy without ever going into my normal “make everything dragons” stic.
Atypus gives all Traptrix 1000 lp with a normal trap in graveyard. That's a 3500 pingicula that's immune to traps and ability to attach an opponents monster in graveyard.
The one thing I will say for Break Off Trap Hole is it can be handy in the long game since it can trigger off of your own link summons, which pairs well with Sara. Still not a must though
17:14 fun fact: thoes bunny rabbit things represent the carnivorous plant (it has two double lobes that look like bunny ears) so technically in traptrix lore, thoes bunny things are probably what will eat you...
And don't forget to mention the F0 Utopic Draco Future. With the new support you can summon Gallant Granite for search the Prison, Allomerus for spec from grawe and Rafflesia too. With Granite and Allomerus you can make the F0 so you have a bunch of traps, a Rafflesia, Sera, F0, and the protection for set cards with Prison.
Wondering if "Baromet, the Sacred Sheep Shrub" would be a worthy inclusion to the extra deck. XYZ Lv4 Earth Plant needing 2 Lv4 Monsters. Once per turn each effect, you can detach one material and either special summon a Lv4 from the hand or target a trap in your GY, place it on bottom of deck and draw one.
The best trap hole is flood gate and gravediggers Floodgate stops kashtira because without birth and 1 face down monster on the field they can't do anything Gravediggers is good because of a lot of handtraps
Break off trap hole can actually be really good if you set it the turn before and then after they set up their board you can link summon one of your own cards clear there board, I only play one of tho cause it can be a little bit of a brick
I really wish Madolche gets support (though it's is currently very splashable), specially @Ignister since Firewall got a new card & @Igniter deck is quite locked around the Ignister archetype
Ahh, one of the Trap decks im rather familiar with. joining the people pointing out you missed phantom knights of Shade Brigandine. this may be outdone by the new traptrix trap monster incoming, but for how long it's been helpful to the deck, it needs to be discussed. This is a trap card that acts as a level 4 monster. the trick is that with no trap cards in the grave it can activate the turn it's set. if you were already able to set up Sera, this sets up Sera's Summon monster activation, which you can then set off an applicable monster in order to set up the "search trap" activation. Shade already saw occasional work in Time Thieves as R4 material, and it does the task differently but effectively here. Traptrix Allure is an odd one- I was less excited for it in traptrix than i was happy that normal trap centric decks now have a pitch draw. it is quite good, both for setting up Dionaea's normal summon, to pitching and recycling other cards. it's crime is not being a trap card with a hand activation clause. Paleo would have had so much fun with that, even though it has some fun alread Breakoff trap hole isn't as bad as you might think- it's a searchable alternative torrential in this deck that wipes out anything not linked or immune to destruction. good thing every traptrix monster Is immune to Hole trap effects, so you can wipeout a link climb at a vulnerable spot, and possibly the other materials around it. and if the enemy isn't running links to set it up, you can easily activate it yourself while making Sera, Cularia or Atypus.

Personally, I get the control idea of the deck(and the fun it can hold), however, not my cup of tea. I may buy a few copies just in case it does blend into future metas (I seem to miss SDs that hold staples and engines that work well with future decks).
this deck is funny to run a 1-of waking the dragon in. Your opponent doesnt think twice when you dont use lord of heavenly prison? this is an easy ultimate falcon, or naturia fusion
Holetaea is a free Sera, but you don't want to use it without Sera already on board. Because using it with Sera already on field gets you another monster on board, which could be Dionaea (recur a Trap Hole), Myrmeleo (pop backrow), Nepenthes (she's still probably not getting her effect off, so don't waste the Deck Space), or Pudica (banish something for a turn to Trap Hole when it comes back).
More or less, its unclear if the girls are separate from the plants/insects, it CAN be a case of "the dryad is the tree even if they have separate bodies" like how Artifacts are both the weapon and the spirit holding the weapon. Or they could be living there with the plants/insects, as some type of druid and are connected to those creatures, kind of like Element Charmers.
I'm assuming it's some kind of Japanese pun but can't find any reference to it, It may just be that 8 kinda looks like 2 holes and they probably need at least 2800 total to be kinda good as an extra deck monster bit that is very flimsy
I think the 8 is the significant part because their links are 800 and 1800, it seems like a very loose way to make a joke though, maybe they thought having the total end in all 0s would feel too inconspicuous so they added 8 as a second hole just to make it clearer?
Sad fact, Traptrix Trap Hole Nightmare doesn't count as a Traptrix or a Hole card cause the OCG name doesn't use either term so it can't be copied by Rafflesia :/ Otherwise this is an amazing archetype, it's the next one I plan to build. Great video! A useful card worth considering is Lady Labrynth of the Silver Castle. She's a big body that can summon herself from the hand whenever you activate a normal trap, she can search more traps from the deck and she's got amazing protection.
It counts in OCG traptrix support "hole" and "pitfall" and Traptrix Trap Hole Nightmare has "pitfall" in it's card name like the ocg names of Bottomless Trap Hole and Void Trap Hole
