Against what many thought, Stormforge's Netherwing server is still holding a very good population and it's actually been increasing the last couple of days. Link: stormforge.gg/
For me, TBC is my favorite expansion. I've been playing on this server since launch and the population has been very consistent. There was some problems with gold sellers early on, but those have been dealt with for the most part. I encourage everyone to try it out :)
Still so disappointed that they didn't keep permanent BC servers, it was the most fun I've had on WoW in like 10 years and I'd do it all again given the chance.
TBC has that perfect mix of old-school MMO but that also fixes a lot of annoying problems from the base game. The start of TBC was just amazing with the professions systems, 5 man gearing, and Kara.
TBC was the era that got me into WoW, as they started offering 10 day free trial of the game. After a couple of days I'd already subbed, as I knew I was in it for the long haul. I might give this a try, for the nostalgia hit
TBC was what i was most looking forward to as i never really played it. Sadly, all my friends did not like TBC and with the dark portal pass and boosts it just died. I wish i could have had this experience of a new WoW xpac once again, the new xpacs are just not doing it for me
Hmmm... WoD, Legion, and now Dragonflight gave me that feeling i think you are talking about. Having been playing since 2004, i've experienced every expansion launch. and so far, i think only Shadowlands REALY missed the mark, when it comes to launch experiences, leveling to cap... BfA was.... not as bad as Shadowlands, in fact i enjoyed LOTS of the leveling experience, but the over abundance of side quest kinda hurted it, so it wasn't as good as the other examples i used. Now in DF i am still on the initial hype, being so alt friendly i've leveled and geared a lot of toons, in a way it wasn't possible since WoD. And the next patch is about to come out... Can't remember the last time the first big patch came out when i wasn't still bored of the initial launch experience. Again, take it from someone that has been playing wow uninterruptedly since 2004. The talent trees, the fact there is NO stupid grind for ap, in fact, gearing up your character and go into endgame have never been so easy, and so not-tedius... Now, the lore of course is not as strong as it was back then. THAT i guess can't be helped... But nothing ever will top the hype we had to finaly meet Illidan, Arthas... I personaly started playing World of Warcraft because there were 2 characters i wanted to meet: Medivh and Sargeras... I am still hoping they bring back Medivh soon, well they kinda did in Legion but only for a split second... but man, seeing Sargears finaly... he had never appeared IN game in any warcraft... THAT was the best WoW moment for me... and it only took 15 fucking years! LOL.
@@josejuanandrade4439 I started playing end of TBC so yes i experienced them all kinda. I was deep involved with TrinityCore - that way i was able to look behind the curtain without being in raid teams or doing content as i was ofthen translating or fixing it. The only expansion i never really experienced was TBC that is why i wanted to play it the way it is meant to. Sure Dragonflight is an expansion too but i am the kind of player wo does not want to go raiding, i dont want to do M+, i dont want to do all the Achievements - i am fine farming, doing the Gold game, playing the AH, doing RP, going Questing. I loved to play the WORLD of warcraft, now only endgame is left... I just want to quest ashenvale and loot some blue items that change the whole game for me, know what i mean? My big brother did it all, all raids, all mounts, all achievements, everything and all. Even he says it is worth nothing. All the time he invested, YEARS of real playtime just worth nothing because Blizz is selling out. Remember when "offical" was like a deadproof quality stamp? Offical wow is sold out, pserver now is more professional than offical. I log in and i can choose 50 different races, is this a pserver? Dont get me wrong, i like that wow is developing but it has developed in a way i do not appreciate at all. I also was big into books but tbh after Shadowlands i lost all interest in Warcraft lore and tbh. there is juet too much other lore i have to read and know everything about. After Legion they just pulled Lore out of their Nose, this feels like an generic DND than like warcraft. Just think about Pyromancers breakdown, it was truth what he said.
You completely glanced over the major difference between this server and "failed" classic tbc from blizzard. Classic was so easy, casual guilds were clearing raids in greens while at the same time there was a huge parsing and gdkp meta. This server has difficulty of endgame content overtuned so it's an actual challenge. While their tuning isn't always spot on, it certainly makes the game so much more appealing.
Yo Hamster! Just wanted to say thank you for all of the private server info you put out and cool wow info in general. I am here because me and many others all over the forums are wanting and wishing we had an unchanged fresh or even not fresh classic Era BC server. Many of us never had the chance/played it through from blizzard the first time around and some of us call that version of wow home. I am hoping as well as the entire BC community is hoping we get an Era BC server one day. Hopefully the hardcore scene has a good chance of bringing one on as I know HC players want to try HC in BC and Wrath as well as I've seen. Do you think we will ever get an Era BC server and also do you know if Stormforge's Netherwing server is worth going to this late in the game? If not do you know of any other BC servers that might be coming out soon or are currently being worked on. Thank you in advance for reading this paragraph, Fingers crossed for the future of BC Era and our beloved server we so hope to get and call home.
Been playing here since a week or so after launch, have 2 70's - server runs great, no issues. Community is decent although harder to find people at certain times depending on your time zone obviously. If you like TBC this is the place to be.
@@Spyro- no, they should let classic / bc / tlk serv and make some refresh each 2y and put an hard mode at bc. i really dont know why they let classic wich is really not the most played instead of bc.
Exactly this. TBC feels so cozy and relaxed, still classic mmo vibes but with some QOL improvements, but also not so complicated and convoluted like the new games.
Honestly I never played TBC back in the day, started it late in the expansion and then ended up quitting wrath. Like I know everyone loves wrath but I just had way more fun in TBC classic and was sad to see it end. I'll definitely be checking out this server thanks!
Hey dude, thats a good question. I think not since I mostly had a ton of alts that I ran T4 content with and with my shaman and warlock I did a few tier 5/6 raids, but honestly I dont think I ever did sunwell plateau on a tbc server
@@HamsterWheelGaming You should try it. I think you've said before TBC is your favourite. I myself have only ever completed Wrath raids. Never stepped in vanilla raids or most of TBC. Be interested to see what the new warmane server offers
Hi, i want to play Classic, and maybe BC on private server, where and ehat server would you recommend? I want it as close and similar to the real thing as possible. And where do i download and play the legit no scam or virus versions?:)
@@clovekkrtz5001 atm theres no classic pservers since all jumped into v+ trend. Despite some changes, Turtle is the closest experience to Vanilla you can find around
if only it had a dungeon finder. i reached 70 a week after release (or so) and needed several hours to find a dungeon group as a mage. spaming world chat really sucks ass ^^
I enjoyed tbc classic more than wrath classic so far. The catch up system in wrath makes old raids irrelevant. This wasnt the case in tbc. You still had to go through the tiers to get gear unless you were a gdkp buyer. There was always something to run and it made playing alts more fun.
I want flyingless TBC. Overall, that's the main feature that I don't vibe with in the actual expansion. You go from the ultimate world pvp cauldron of Azeroth to the hollow shell of world pvp that is flying in outland.
Hello Hams and the rest of the chat I want your unbiased opinion how is pvp on this server. I'm only asking because I download the client and the discord server as well and from the discord server comments I was disheartened about the bad state of pvp on this server so if anyone got any unbiased opinion can let me know tyvm
I am playing on this server but it seems dead, and also it seems to me that chats are not working on this server ergo you cannot /say /whisper/ party etc.
I like the server, I like the community, I hate that mobs can cast through the walls ... I thought this is an issue which was happening a few years back, not nowadays. Exp rate x3 seems to be ok for me, however you will suffer at start from low gear.
- Even in battlegrounds you can‘t los with obstacles. - I got kicked on my way to turn in the 3rd flag in wsg, because somebody flaged me as afk… - I Couldn’t join a battleground with the message „you are in combat“ but that wasn’t true at all.
Eventually, blizz will most likely release separate servers for Classic only, TBC only and so on. Classic cataclysm onwards or even classic cataclysm itself just aren’t going to be popular
I definitely hope so, kinda felt lame after investing so much time into tbc to be forced into wrath. (not that I hate wrath or anything) but I had planned on tbc longer term.
I think Cata will initially be popular but older players will soon remember why it was such a bad expansion and newer players will find it too difficult/time-consuming compared to current WoW - so it just won't appeal to very many people at all and Blizz will probably end up shutting down Cata mid-way through or definitely stopping after Cata as it will be too much of a money sink.
It is a very good server if you are from Europe and you play at a certain time, it is not to play all day, especially if you are from the continent of America like me, since it is an EU server and it is difficult to find people to do dungeons and raids at hours of operation. America since if you play in European time you will have a lot of people but only if you are from Europe otherwise it is not worth it do not waste time leveling on a server that for America is dead of people the page says between 2k and 2.5k but you do not see More than 100 online unless you play at rush hour in Europe and it is not worth it if you are from Europe or nearby places it will be good if you don't even try. It could be a solution to be able to do raids and dungeons with ally and hord but I don't think they do
That's honestly not that bad. There are people that get 300-1000 ping and actually still pvp and stuff. 122 ping is probably the lowest you'll ever get on a private server while playing in the US. You definitely get used to it.( I don't notice it at all anymore)
Do they sell gear? I think boosts aren't too bad considering it means there are more people at max level to raid with. Any PServs with boosts obviously aren't leveling-friendly servers, though.
I actually came across many bugs on this server. Which surprised me considering the MoP server is so well done. Also, I can't prove it but I think they are lying about the population numbers on both servers. That being said the server decent but not great!
Iunno what it is but like Classic TBC sort of sucked away all my love for TBC. Just felt like the worst version of TBC I've ever played tbh. I've always preferred Vanilla and Wrath but It's too early for me to go back to TBC I think Shattrath is burnt into my retinas at this point.
TBC is my favorite expansion. It def has it's faults and lot of them were fixed in WOTLK. Gameplay wise WOTLK is def better than TBC but in TBC the world was still alive even during ZA phase. Everyday content in TBC e.g. heroics had some challenge to them (Unless you were +T5 geared) but in Wrath heroics have the difficulty of smash your face to the keyboard and win even on fresh 80 quest greens. I love the general feel of the outlands lot more than northrend etc...
@@VegetoStevieD There is no such thing , some people just get things out of their ass and put them on the internet... Make a character go and level and see with your own eyes that you meet real players in every zone , even low level zones EVERYWHERE.
@@redlemonade6366 "There is no such thing" Bots are a problem on Social Media, view count botting used to be a problem on RU-vid, official Blizzard Realms have a bot problem too. My question is reasonable, especially in this era where AI is becoming more advanced, and the majority of "real players" personify the NPC meme.
Wow, 5k concurrent? Even 1k is enough for a healthy community!! Downloading it now. Shop looks less predatory than most servers, certainly less than retail.
I can't understand people who want WotLK over TBC... Sure WotLK has a lot of improvements over TBC, but it has also introduced a lot of new problems. WotLK is just too fucking boring in the long run. There is no point to farming gold, unless you do GDKP's, and I like many others don't think GDKP is a fun way to raid. Also open world PVP is dead, although it died late TBC. Even if flying was introduced in TBC and removed a lot of the organic world pvp, there was still pvp hot spots in various scales. Here is an idea... Why not flesh out the flying system? We already have parachute cloak available from engineering and from reputation vendor, and we have a rocket launcher that can (although tricky) be used to kill people on flying mounts (usually when they CC you and try to escape on flying mount on low hp). Why not expand this to introduce more counters to flying, and also introduce a fun new aspect to open world pvp? I envision gadgets being added both to engineering, but also available from reputation vendors. Parachtue cloaks, ground to air rocket launchers and air to air weapons, and dismounters (apparently Discombobulator Ray dismounting people on flying mounts was fixed). Reduce the parachute cloak cooldowns, heck maybe even just introduce the wotlk parachute cloak too. Who cares. I think this would be a really fun aspect of the game, and people would no longer be safe on their flying mounts.
There are things I like about TBC especially Elek mounts but for it to last past the initial release every map after Zangarmarsh needs a total overhaul if not completely redone. TBC has good features but the expansion as a whole exists only as a Raid hub and thats not going to cut it for casual players who cant deal with TBCs harsh gear score reqs. The outdoor pvp areas are all boring trash that no one ever did and something needs to be done to address flyings effect on world pvp. Its a good exp for Raiders but as a whole and unfinished game.
Its very much a dungeon server. Do every leveling dungeon with all or most q, this gets you most of the way to 60. TBC highrate dungeons dont requires you to be overleveled like old Warsong but is not the complete joke of Wotlk dungeon spam.
I played tbc few years ago, with shadow priest was realy fun. I reached lvl70, even did professions and then i learned that i need reputation to do hc dungeon and just quit never logged back lmao
@@antonjohansson3819 Yes, if you want to avoid rep grinds you just gotta wait for rep nerfs. I did that with TBC Classic and it worked a treat. No way am I spending hours grinding rep, ayo.
Im telling you why this server pop is still going strong .. Because Warmane announced they will not contiune the progressive realm Frostmourne so lots of guilds migrated here. Also it had like 6k players few nights ago. The server will go down the Warmane will open its new server progressing from Vanilla to Wotlk in my opinion , but only if they do it fast , if players get to progress a lot on this server and get attached of the server/character prob they wont leave. I personally wont leave for Vanilla i have no feeling of nostalgia for Vanilla or the urge to play it.
TBC blows big time. Sure the lore and PVE aint bad, but the horrendous grind for attunements, and severe lack of class balance in PVP makes a no-go to me
@@HaleftHaut and all those Attunements you were crying about. Im with you with the PVP thing. Attunements is a thing I am personally missing. Also rep grind which benefits you with gear, recipes and so on. That benefit feeling is what I am missing in WoW right now. You don´t have to put so much effort anymore.
Guess it's an unpopular opinion but for me the Attunements were one of the best parts about TBC. There's just something to the fact that when you ding max level you have so much stuff to do. And it's not done in a way that severely devalues your investment afterwards by making it exponentially easier over time (like artifact power or bs like that.) Also when you're done, you're done. It just feels good. I mean in wotlk, you start raidlogging after 1 day /played into the expansion. I seriously don't understand how people find wotlk better, I really don't. To me it's by far the most boring expac of the 3 classic ones. Also in TBC, the rep requirements are so damn easy I don't know what people are complaining about tbh. You do what? less than 10 dungeons of a kind and you're already revered+? How is that even grindy haha. I don't think you people know what grinding actually is. You should try OSRS lmao. Honestly I wish they didn't nerf the attunements and just kept them in their launch-state all throughout the expansion.
If only they made classic WoW /season free to play ... I love playing vanilla etc, but cba paying 13+ dollars for a 20 year old game ive played thousand hours on..
It's really not there is 70's sitting around doing jack all and there is next to no guilds and the people are the worst kind of antisocial I have ever seen.
TBC not being popular because it wasn't as good as people thought is a false narrative. The classic TBC servers died fast because of rampant bots, gold farmers, gold sellers, boosters and GDKP which Blizzard absolutely REFUSED to address. A few streamers saw the servers were dead after about 6 months and started putting out videos about how TBC wasn't good. Combine that with the WotLK fanboys that just wanted TBC to be over so they could get Wrath, and you have the birth of the "TBC was Bad" narrative. There are multiple posts, every day, on the official forums asking for a TBC server, and there have been every since they shut them down and forced everyone to migrate to Wrath. Look at your own coment section, which is FULL of people talking about how TBC is their favorite XPAC, and how they wish there was an official TBC server. If YOU didn't like TBC, fine, but stop enforcing the false narrative that TBC was bad, or unpopular.
PRIVATE servers CAN never be trusted. I thought Blizzards entertainment were banning all private servers when they were launching WoW Classic years ago?...
Stormforge TBC is a quick cashgrab with x6 XP boosts in shop practically since day 1 (what you failed to mention in the video though), I don't recommend playing there. This video looks like a paid ad to me.
I've played for months on the MoP server and I really enjoyed it. I'm having an equal amount of fun here too. If it was a paid ad I'm legally obliged to let everyone know, and it isn't.
@@haaxor1689 Yes, literally when first players hit 70 the shop opened the x6 boost option. I understand the narrative of not making the realm first lvl 70 chase being influenced by money, and I know this is what people were supposed to focus on. In my opinion though, with letting players buy x6 boost, immediately after realm first 70 happened, Stormforge staff proved to be what i dislike in private server community - opportunists with quick cash-grabbing mindset. And please don't get me wrong - I've played on Stormforge MoP server for quite a while now, I am truly impressed by what they managed to pull off together with Tauri staff. And yet i see this TBC off-spin as a mistake that hopefully won't happen to the community they've built.
@@haaxor1689 How does it even remotely apply to the topic? Since they ran multiple servers, does it mean they're allowed to run one that is a pure cash grab? Unless you want to prove my point.
server has outrageous perks for alliance only and the chinese server is even worse, with cross-faction. Anyone know of any pserver without this kind of bullshit?
Bullshit! TBC never had the chance to shine, just see how Classic is shining now, with people just enjoying the game. I played TBC back then and now and let me tell you, I did not even finish my character to 70. Why? Because of tryhards, trying to rush everything and minmaxing everything. Just log in to Classic and see how people act friendly with each other and helping eachother out, this is what a MMORP is supposed to be.
private servers in general are far more polished and higher quality than classic was from the very start, mainly due to this kind of thinking you're expressing. some examples: a bot on private server gets banned within hours, while a bot on classic gets banned after a few months. blizzlike (1x) servers usually never offer level boosts, while classic still has it. server staff on private servers intervenes IMMEDIATELY if there's a heavy faction imbalance, while classic on blizzard's servers are only alliance or only horde. there are also fewer bugs present on private servers than on blizzard's (that one is possibly the most bizarre difference, as one would think that a sub based game would have premium developers) and private servers don't cost any money to play and you can quit/come back any time.. anyway, the list goes on. there are negatives sides, as with anything in life, such as cash shops, but most quality private servers offer mostly cosmetics / mounts and stuff like that
Something I noticed is that to some people the word 'official' adds some immense, unexplainable value to the server and they omit logic just to see a reason to like those 'official' ones. So for the sake of the sanity of this game and community I suggest calling private servers official. They are much better than blizz servers so they just deserve to be called official.
this isnt an TBC classic server, its an heavy modded server, arbitrary giving npc mobs 2 skills that arent in the tbc classic content totaly over powered dungeon mobs and mecanics having their own gold farmers witch keep spamming chat the store is selling mounts and xp boost for ridiculous prices(75-200dollar) the community is like the official blizzard servers> pure trash no server forums, cause it would be flooded with complaints this server want one thing....money
