I have an 07 Rav V6 limited. I purchased a 2019 Rx350 Lexus that has the same excellent engine. Recently while at the dealership, they tried to convince me to trade in my RX 350 for a new 350 that only has a 4 cylinder engine. Have they gone nuts?

My 30-year-old truck goes to see the doctor every spring for a checkup. Normally, nothing is wrong, but on occasion it needs new this or that which is fine. That old truck has sure been a blessing to me. I take care of it, and it takes care of me. Thank you Scotty. God Bless you.

My sister works for a company which supplies car makers with parts. She says Toyota orders less than everyone else, close to zero. In Europe.

Pt ca acolo in Ro sau Europa ,motorizarea de la Toyota este diferită și dacă mai deții o Toyota sau Honda ,înseamnă ca ai ceva bani la buzunar ca sa ți cumperi o mașina japoneza . Ce vezi aici îm acest video ,este un motor de V6 care normal in România nu se comercializează de mult timp ,dacă sa comercializat vreodată . In România motoarele de 1.8 litri sunt considerate mari in sch cele de 1.2 litri in America sunt considerate prea mici in special in zone unde este foarte frig . In câteva cuvinte ,motorizarea din USA sau Canada ,nu poate fi comparata cu cea europeană și invers . Scotty mai face și video pt publicitate . Un model de acel RAV 4 cu 200000 km la bord se vinde de la 8-10000 de dolari in sus ,doar pt ca au fiabilitate ridicată și necesita întreținere minima și cine deține o asemenea mașina nu o vinde decât dacă are o problema sau vrea una noua neaparat . Iar in Canada sau USA motoarele nu se repara dacă e vorba de cilindri sau segmenți . Costa mult prea mult și e preferabilă sa cumperi motor uzat și sch cel defect . Iar motoarele noi sunt făcute de așa natura la Toyota încât sa nu poate fi segmentate sau reparate la interior la piesele majore care au legătura cu cilindrii . Pereții blocului motor sunt prea subțiri ca sa poată fi rectificați

I have a 2008 Rav 4 4 cyl at 230,000 miles!! I'm very conscienous owner. had an ignition coil go out told the mechanic go ahead replace all 4 - he said "no way!" the ravs can have only one go out its whole life!

I had an issue with my 02 4runner. Felt like a transmission issue....after watching serval RU-vidrs, it was a bad coil pack. Changed ...plugs ...coil packs ...and plugs. Runs like a chap... Thanks for sharing ...Scotty.

I have a 2008 rav4 v6 and the second owner I changed the plugs at 166k miles and I was impressed how well it ran and it was the oem originals but going over 200k on the original plugs is impressive

Being difficult to access some parts on a vehicle is another reason why I now take my car to an independent mechanic who specializes in Toyota cars. Buy only Denso Iridium spark plugs. They're 25% owned by Toyota.

I bought an MG Midget when I was young and foolish. The first week it quit running. I had to ship the engine to the only man I could find who would work on it, to Ft Lauderdale some 4 - 5 hours away. It took that guy 3 months to get it repaired, waiting for parts. Good heavens. I drove it for another year before ridding myself of that nightmare. LOL

Scotty I had a 2valve 4.6 mustang gt I replaced the plugs and 2 off them blew out the top I know it’s a reporter problem engine but still I learned the hard way and now I torque my plugs

For 2006 the 4-cylinder RAV-4 is known for piston ring problems causing oil loss. The 6-cylinder cost about $2,000 more, but did 0 to 60mph in 6.9 seconds and ran smoother. The 6-cylinder option is still available for the Camry. With the price of gasoline now, it will likely be less popular.

Take a large crescent wrench or a large wrench that just fits shaft. Slide it up to the back of first joint and smack the wrench and it will pull axle out of the lock under cut where the ring clicks in. Get a new lock ring too when reinstalling axle.

I drove a 2013 Rav4 for one month shy of eight years and a little over 135k miles. The only money I spent on the car was maintenance related. Not one dollar spent on an actual failure. I replaced the original spark plugs at about 130k, just cause, and honestly, I couldn't tell much difference between the old ones and the new ones. The plugs on this car weren't a failure. They simply wore out. There's a difference.

Wow this had the smart key push to start in 2010! The Toyota Corolla didn't get that feature until its 2014 redesign (which is optional). The SUVs and bigger cars got this feature first years before the smaller cars did

I changed all my spark plugs in my 08 Lexus ES 350 at 120k miles. It has the same V6 engine as this Rav4. Accessing cylinders 3 and 5 were a major PITA because they were all the way in the back with barely any working room.

Great videos Scotty, I have a 2007 Rav4 V6 Sport AWD with a leaking front differential. It's not leaking from the axel seals but it is leaking at the pinion seal fro the driveshaft going to the rear differential and I'm told they have to remove the whole Engine, Transmission, Differential to fix? What do you think?

My wife's 2011 V6 Limited just crossed 100k miles. Within the next month, I plan to change the plugs plus all 6 coil-packs. Still get mailings from the local Toyota dealers wanting to buy it. Not a chance.

I have the 2GR-FE RAV4 as well. Scotty makes it seem easier than it is to change the back plugs. Watch care car nut channel if you plan on doing this yourself.

Best to look at the gap on the new plugs to see if it's been dropped. The disk Gage with the graduated ramp are best, I think.

My 2009 Camry has a V6. Almost 300,000 miles. Haven't had too many issues, but I did have to replace the coil packs and spark plugs.

I've owned All American brands of pickup trucks and many American sedans, nothing compares to Toyota. It's just simply the truth, no European brands can come close to Toyota either, so it's no offense to anyone else. If you can afford a Toyota...... Buy it

Plus number 5 coil Then I had a problem where it would only run with a MAF sensor unplugged cleaned changed it with 3 new ones still a year later I'm running with maf unplugged fml gas is $1.70 /L

Scotty any info on what they call the death rattle on the 3.5l engines? Start with cold start rattle for a second or 2 and then goes away. Any info on how to fix on the long run?

I own a 2011 V6 RAV4. Most that do own them beat the crap out of them because they are fast and fun to drive and yet still last a very long time. The biggest drawback is when you need anything replaced you need to drop the AWD transmission and engine since there is no working room.

I have a 2006 toyota rav4 and drives great but when i slow down to a stop sign or trafic stop, it feels like it won"t stop and wants to keep going. And when you come to a complete stop, it takes off going on its on going at least 20mp without give it gas. What you think that is??

Scotty you can tell if the plugs are original by looking for two small colored dots at the top of the plug.

There used to be a file to file clean the end of the spark plug if you didn't have much money that's what i did with my first car

Just don't over tighten the spark plugs. I usually have gone until they are snug, and then another 1/4 turn and never had a problem on any of my vehicles. You don't want them too lose and you don't want them too tight (and you definitely don't want to break them off from overtightening). All the car manuals I've seen (even my truck) recommended spark plugs every 90-100k miles even though they were iridium. I used to just drive cars until they would misfire and then change them, but on a newer cars about every 100-150k is about the life of the plugs, no matter which ones you get.

Big/high miles seem to be common in cars driven in the US - America is a big country after all. I guess that there must be a fair share of garage queen's, but not judging by all those cars out there crawling along at walking speed during Big city peak hour traffic.

I have a 2007 Toyota Rav 4 limited....the check engine light comes on at 60 miles, it then "sets off" the vsc and 4wd dash lights and disables the cruise control.....code P0456 small EVAP leak.....I've taken it to 3 different mechanics and gotten 3 different answers......please, any ideas on what's wrong???
