As a women who has been taken advantage of by a man.. well more than one man, I think the point of the argument is that a bear would attack you, most likely kill you, and as a women we are less afraid of that than being alone with a man in the woods.. the things men do to women are scarier to women then being attacked by a bear. Also if you’re attacked by a bear no one questions it, no one asks what you were wearing or how much you had to drink or if you said no or if you were dating the bear or what you did to make the bear do it or that the bears cousin went to school with the bear and that bear would never do that. It’s the principle, it’s not about surviving or having a fighting chance against the bear, it’s about that the outcomes, the experience, and the way people would actually believe you is far less terrifying if it were a bear and not a man… I think it hits harder when you’ve been through experiences of being taken advantage by men. You would never have to fight or be scared that no one will believe you if you were attacked by a bear but every day victims aren’t believe when attacked by men.

Kyra has said in at LEAST 4 videos that she would find someone else to give her babies if Oscar wouldn't

The bear thing is more about choosing death over rape, torture and having to live with having your soul destroyed by a man. You know what a bear will do, but men you have to roll the dice.

So with just pure statistics, in America there have been 82 fatal bear attacks since 1784. In America, on average 433,648 women are s**ually assaulted by a man every year. 1 in 6 women experience it in some way in America and one occurs every 73 seconds. I believe the crux is: if I’m walking a hiking trail and I hear the snap of a branch, would I rather see a bear or a man in front of me. For me, statistics wise alone, when left with the opportunity of a woman being alone and vulnerable, a bear would much more likely leave a woman alone to continue her hike.

I really loved being pregnant, and I love babies. My darling husband wanted two and I wanted six. We had two. They are 44 and 38. I get my baby time at work. I have been a pediatric RN for 42 years. I felt my husband's wishes totally factored into how many children we had. However, with my 4 grandchildren I got the 6 children I wanted. ❤

Regarding bear or man, it’s not about who you’d have a chance against. It’s SO much more than that. If I somehow survive a bear attack, people won’t accuse me of lying, people won’t ask what I was wearing, people won’t ask what I did to deserve it. People will BELIEVE me when I say I was attacked by a bear. I would still choose a bear, because 15 years on I am still affected by what a man did to me. But if a bear killed me, I’d be gone. I wouldn’t have to live with years of feeling like what I went through didn’t matter. It is SO much deeper than “you’d have more chance of surviving with a man”

I’ve watched all of Oscar’s new videos and he’s not focusing on his kids at all in his videos. You see glances of them maybe. His channel is clearly focused on him and his gf.

As someone who hikes alone, I will and have chosen the bear. On a hike last year a couple I passed told me there was a bear further up on the trail, I kept going towards it. If that couple had told me there was a man acting strangely on the trail I would have turned around and asked if I could hike out with them. The bear spray and other protection I carry is not for the bears.

Not all men? Not all bears either. The point is the WORST thing a bear would do is kill us. Men however, are far less predictable. And the men more upset of not getting picked in a hypothetical about women's safety are literally proving this point

I suspect the last child they had was only a surprise for Oscar. Why would she take regular pregnancy tests like she was saying whilst using protection. That's why he had to get the vasectomy, he knew he couldn't trust her not to "accidentally" do it again and knew it was dangerous.

You clearly don’t understand this bear vs man debate. It’s not about if we will survive against the bear or not, but we do know what the bear can do and that it is all bears. But we do not know if the man we meet is a good or a bad man. The bear will attack if it feels threatened against all humans, not just bc we are women, but that it feels threatened. The man can attack no matter what, even if he doesn’t feel threatened. Also a person will be believed if he or her says he or her was attacked by a bear and won’t get questions from people like: what were you wearing, what did you do, I bet you deserved it, but it’s a bear and it wanted some fun, lighten up, smile some more. All those questions is something we can get if a man attacks, also we won’t have to see the bear on family gatherings. So yeah, it’s not about if we will or not survive against a bear, but that the bear won’t do what men can do. Men can kidnap us and hide us for years, where he can rape, torture and have some “fun” with the woman/girl he kidnapped. If you still don’t understand then you are a part of the problem.

It’s not all men…but it’s every single women and girl I’ve met in my 31 years of life. It’s a different world for women we can’t just “kick him in the balls” and run away. It’s not that easy. I hope you’re listening to the women in your comments and learn something new today.

Also Oscar hasn’t put the kids in the videos that are in passing and block there faces out. Also Addie had her own child so whatever Addie chooses for her own kid that’s her opinion but they don’t even show that child in videos for what I have seen when he puts videos out.

I watch Oscar's videos and I haven't seen his kids faces. It has shown a few flash backs of his kids but they are either standing back on or he puts emojis in front of their faces. Addie's daughter was in a video but she basically put her face in the frame for a second and Oscar immediately moved it. Other than that, he might mention his kids but only by talking about how everything he is doing is for his kids. I have never heard him talk about anything personal about them.

It's not about an actual bear, and if you want to actually be analytical about it and ask if you would rather fight a human or a bear, you're missing the point. The point is, women are not safe.

Bear hands down! I've seen plenty of both while hiking, and if you know absolutely anything about animals it's that they don't want trouble. The chances of a bear attacking you on sight is incredibly low- back away and leave. My heart drops when I'm alone at night and I come across a lone man, though. Of course: ~NoT AlL mEn~ want to hurt you, but I don't think guys understand how heinous some otherwise pleasant people act when nobody is looking.

Addie shows her daughter but that’s her choice. But I’ve noticed in Oscar’s recent video he is aware of how he films when her daughter is around. He never shows her face.

I watch Oscars vlogs and i haven’t seen him show his kids other than through passing here and there. He even puts something over their face if it does show their faces, the only child I have seen them show is his girlfriends daughter. His videos seem to be thriving!

I've been SA'd at 11. Graped at 12-14, and attempted grape at 14 by another man. 4 men in my life took advantage of me before I was even 14 years old. This doesn't count the other harassment I've gone through as a woman. I would choose a bear in a heartbeat for myself and my children. (Sons included) I was blamed for being graped at 12-14. Asked what I did?!! If a bear eats me, it eats me. I don't get a lifetime of more trauma and then blamed for it.

Statistically speaking way way way more women are killed by men than bears. Soooo that’s probably why many of us including myself pick the bear. I love black bears they are the Labradors of the forest.

I used to care for 3 Kodiak bears and I'd still pick the bear. There are things worse than death. I have no chance against a man or a bear, I'm 5'3 108lbs at least with the bear it would be a quick death.

I've watched Oscars videos, he is not filming his kids. The kids try to get in the videos or are in the space they are in and he focuses away from the kids faces. He did one flash back to Levi's bday but they were running away from the camera having a good time.

I didn't even know what the bear/man thinks was because I'm not on social media much but then heard people talking about it. They said many things that explained it well but a huge one that stuck out was if you get attacked by a bear nobody will ask what you were wearing, did your smile at them, did you say no, etc etc. People believe you, no questions asked.

I’d also choose a bear, at least the bear would kill me and it would be over. Not how I’d want to go but much better than being SA’d and tortured for hours. I would pick a bear, for the same reasons as many other women have already commented. I know what the outcome would be with a bear. With a man, the possibilities are endless- and the suffering can last much longer.

The bear thing is more about the back lash from other people than the actual attack. If you are attacked by a bear no one is going to blame you even unknowingly if you are attacked by a man people are going to ask if you were drunk, did u send mixed signals, what were you wearing, what did you do to Make him mad if he hit you, or did you say yes and then change your mind in the middle of the encounter. No matter when you say no no is the answer. With a bear it’s never going to stop just because you say stop men on the other hand should stop when they are told to stop (women should too). No matter what a person says stop to you (people) should stop even if it’s a minor thing like making noise that is annoying it’s a respect thing! A lot of men just don’t have respect for women. PEOPLE don’t have RESPECT for PEOPLE that is the problem with society today it’s a lack respect thing because people think that to earn their respect others should show respect but they forget that they have yet to earn their respect first! I try (not perfect here) to always show respect even to people who do not respect me doesn’t mean I have to surround myself with those who do respect me but when I have to be around them I show respect no matter what! It’s hard sometimes but I do my best

It's not whether we can fight against the bear or the man better, it's about we KNOW a bear's intentions compared to a man's. Obviously, as far as defending ourselves against the bear, we would have no chance. We know the bear will try to kill us, we don't know if we are going to need to defend ourselves against a man. The man vs bear choice shows that many women have traumatic experiences with men. That is the point of it. So their brains first choice is the bear although it makes logically no sense. It only does from a post traumatic perspective.

Hi 👋 oldest of 5, & raised by a mother who was in love with the “puppy phase” of motherhood, it takes a toll on you, and you grow up feeling like it’s your responsibility is to take care of the family and to make sure your mother is happy. I was kicked out of the house for simply wanting a real job at 18, because it would interfere with me taking care of my siblings.

My friend and I talked about the man and bear the other day and her brother and my husband agreed with us. We choose bear. A bear will more than likely leave you alone most of the time but if they don’t they’ll kill you and eat you. A man could torture you, rape you and then kill you and there have been a lot of cases of rape after death as well. So in life and death women cannot have peace. And men say “not all men” and okay maybe not but probably that one right? So that’s the whole thing, a bear isn’t going to rape and torture me. It’s not going to rape my body after it kills me either. I’d rather die.

So here’s a question of clarification about the bear vs man. Is the scenario that the man is always going to be violent or just a chance for it to be? I’m seeing a lot of comments about how men have treated you in the past and it’s why you choose the bear currently. Maybe I’m sheltered but o don’t know a man in my life at all that is anything close to that? But damn this is eye opening.
