Dougherty Dozen Keeps Throwing N Under The Bus - Jame's Birthday Vlog 

I will NEVER forget when my little brother turned 6 and not a single kid from his class came to the party. He was so excited because he finally had his group, but my POS mom didn’t send invitations (or plan the party) until a couple of days BEFORE it. It enraged me. I was 16 at the time and felt the worst heartbreak ever. So the following year when I turned 17, 3 months later, I saved my money from my part time job and took him to monster jam, with pit passes. He had been before, but didn’t remember them. Plus it was just he and I and he still remembers that day. It’s something I hope my kid will never have to feel. The neglect is so upsetting. It comes in all forms. Not just in the typical ways.

And the comment regarding N, was ABSOLUTELY disgusting. A grown adult attacking a CHILD is ABSURD. All because N stood up for herself and called Alisha's bluff. I also wish all of the best, happiness and love her way! She deserves it!

I loved that James wanted to make sure he knew each gift was from and that he read each card out loud-and said a genuine thank you to each person!

James is the only one of the children that actually takes the time to look at every single gift, looking at it and then thanking the giver of the gift, he is such a wonderful young man.. i feel so sorry for him having to live in that toxic environment...

I can't stand this 'one size fits all' parenting. My mom always told me 'if you treat all kids equally, then you are treating someone unfairly'. It took me a while to realize what she meant, but when I finally understood, that was a game changer. Fair and equal are not the same. Explain why she makes the same lunch for a 5 year old and a 17 year old? I'm sorry, these videos fucking hurt my heart.

I find myself crying through this entire video watching James. I just want to hug him and tell him he is a great kid and there are people who do love him for him.

James is the kid who wants to be a chef right? I can think of 100 better and more thoughtful gift ideas for him than his own mom. Not another friggin video game or electronics chair for Christ sake. How about a subscription to Gordon Ramsay’s masterclass? A nice set of pots and pans or a new fun appliance like an instant pot or air fryer. How about some cook books to go along with those things? What about a trip to a chefs school? Or a trip to an ultra fancy nyc restaurant to experience fine dining and what a successful chef can do? He’s 17, how about a CAR?! She is so careless and thoughtless it breaks my heart for James.

If I was her kid I would keep asking for expensive gifts just so that I could resell them and save the money to get the hell out of there. She wouldn't even notice what she bought was missing because she buys so much shit.

James, I hope you can see this video, and understand, this isn't acceptable for a 17th birthday. None of this is your fault. You deserve so much more. You are a complete sweetheart. And soon to be a young man in this world. You have a bunch of strangers out here rooting for ya. I hope the day you leave this house, you can have the most wonderful adventure of good fortune and finding your tribe that can celebrate you genuinely. Out of every birthday vlog you have covered of DD I have never seen a child who is genuinely thankful for what they open. This was literally the only one I have seen with a child who takes time to open the gifts to give each one the appropriate appreciation and saying thanks. James seems to be such a sweet kid that just likes to make others feel good. Alicia so obviously favors certain kids which is so sad for the other kids 😔

Her actions remind me a lot of an aunt that I have. It's really sad how people can be. The kid moved out but she is boiling about it, she will never let that go for some reason. I moved out of state to attend college and stayed with an aunt and uncle who was I really close with. My cousins and I got along, we all respected each other. I met a guy, got engaged and was getting married so I moved out a few months before the wedding. Well, when I told my aunt she couldn't even look at me. The day I moved out, she ignored me and my husband and I packed up everything. My cousins wouldn't even speak to me besides a hello. It was like walking on eggshells. Once I was not living there anymore I barely heard from any of them. They came to the wedding, we got a little friendly after we got back from our honeymoon but you could tell she couldn't be happy for us. This is a grown adult, married over 20 years who has kids of her own. Why would she act this way? I was always reaching out to her. Even now. Almost 15 years after I lived with them there is hardly a relationship there. It's just too much work to put in to someone who is fake. I have to take care of my own family now I don't have time to try to fix things. It will never go back to how it was. Some people get bitter and they stay bitter.

Josh skipped over when James opens his present from his friend at Laser tag. James was genuinely excited his friend got him fishing line. But when he opened all the presents from his mom he was just showing polite interest, because James is a sensitive soul. Also, how many times did we see Harlee at Laser tag and only saw James a when it was cake time. Sad.

I stopped snark watching DD a few months ago. I realised it wasn't a constructive use of my time, her content got boring and repetitive, plus, it just got plain depressing seeing how the kids are treated. And I don't wanna give her views and encourage her to continue to exploit her kids. I saw her video on Pinterest about how she’s super organized and makes all her kids breakfast. The premise was nice but something about her gave me the ick factor and all I had to do was put their vlog name into RU-vid and got your channel. You’re doing good work calling these creators out who are exploiting these kids.

You can see the difference in Naveah and Dayshawn. Naveah looked miserable but was happy to have her brother around. Where as Dayshawn you could see was doing alot better and making some progress. Probably it was a big change to the conditions he was in before and of course the type of lifestyle in gifts.
